For the last week or so I have had a tingling sensation in the left hand side of my face on and off (it seems to become worse when I think about it), dizziness and my ears have been sensitive to noise. I suffer anxiety but I've only had this once last month and again now, I also have a dull headache too. I wasn't unsure if this is a migraine as it seems to be lasting more than a few days (None of this is constant) but I have been severely stressed at work recently. The more anxious I get about it the worse it seems to get or the worse I make it or the more I imagine it. I was able to control my anxiety for a while, I used to get really bad upset stomach with it but now I can control that I can't seem to control other ways it affects me.

I started having a sensation where my whole face tingled like it was waking up after a shot of novacaine.  This lasted a few days and then it switched to just my left side of my face.  Like someone split my face in half.  It tingles all the time!  Sometimes are more intense than others.  My face, lips, tongue, eye etc.  I thought stress but I really have not felt stressed.  This has been a great Holiday season etc.  I was ahead of schedule the whole time and so forthsmile  This is driving me crazy!  Waiting on new insurance to kick in before going to the Dr. but I feel like they will have no idea what is going on.  I take NO medications and I am healthy.  No face drooping either.  Any thougths??

I get the same thing, It's from shallow breathing due to anxiety/stress (usually done without realising). You end up taking in too much oxygen and not enough CO2 which causes the tingling and numb feelings.

Most of these symptoms can be explained smile it's not serious, just your budy trying to get you ready to fight or flight.

Interesting. I started to do some deep breathing exercises after reading your comment and the numbness and tingling started to wear off. Good tip!

Although I do have anxiety disorder and take Alprazolam, I have been getting face tingling and left side of my head pressure for almost a year. This thread is interesting. So it doesn't have to be brain cancer. I don't feel anxious yet I have these symptoms that you all are connecting to anxiety. Anyone been found to have a brain tumor?

Thank God I found this post. I was almost about to have another attack. I have had this same symptoms since november. The right side of my chin and tongue are partially numb. Now I am feeling the tingly sansation on my face and my head. Also feeling like my throat is starting to get numb. I thought I was dying. I have had a few MRI's of my head and everything is normal. I guess it is anxiety and I will just have to deal with it. Thank you for posting. Now I know I am not dying. I will leave this one to the hands of God. Only he can help us. I hope that everyone on this post that is going through the same thing gets better soon.

Hi Rosie! I was glad to read this. Ive been feeling the same symptoms for two weeks. It has been making me nervous but i also had blood test and a CT of my head and all was negative. They told me it was anxiety too. I dont feel anxious but the thought of them telling me that has made me anxious cause then i thought they were thinking i was crazy!! Haha they even did a drug screen without informing me and of course all was negative. I feel it on my left arm and leg at times tol. It comes and goes and seems to just fine then slowly comes back and kimd apreads thoigh my left side of face and left side of body. Strange!!! Im getting mythroid checked tomorrow as this was mentioned to me by a doctor as a possibility. So we will see. If ok then i guess im officially an anxious person with tingly numb feeling on her left side. :-)

      Hey Diana,

I'm still undertermined on what this can be. When I told my doctor it could be anxiety she asked if I wanted medication for anxiety because she herself does not know. She put me on Gabapentin which is Generic for Neurontin. That's a medication to help the nerves. Not sure if that is helping my numbness or if it the fact that It could be realated to sinus problems. As I started using Afrin and the pressure subsides at times. This is driving me crazy. I did feel some tingly on my right leg, at times a few months ago but that has stopped. I hope your tests tomorrow come back good. I know how you are feeling this is very scary. But hopefully we will get to the bottom of this. Please let me know how tomorrow goes.

    Hello All.

I have had tingling/numbness in face around my nose and lips for a while, and put it down to a B12 deficiency. I have been getting B12 injections, and had a level of 250 at my last check. But the tingling and numbness has persisted this time around.

I am a relatively anxious person, but never realised that anxiety can have these sorts of effects...

I also have headaches, and am constantly tired.

No idea what to do now sad

My doctor wants me to get more bloods, and possibly attend a rheumatologist. Freaking out as my Mother and Grand-Mother both had fybromyalgia..
