Hello there

Posted , 29 users are following.

Been following this group for a few weeks now and decided to jump in. I had bunion surgery, hammertoe, plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel release, all on the right foot on Feb 26. Have done really well except for falling twice and putting a lot of pressure on my foot trying to keep from falling. I am approaching week three and actually have more pain now than I did at first. Sutures are out, thank goodness and I am still no-weight bearing. I see the surgeon Friday and will probably go into a post surgical boot. I keep thinking I should be further along but I have to consider I had four procedures on one little foot! I am 63 years old and it is not easy getting around. Hubby rented me a knee walker and that really has been a big help. Happy healing to all!

Forgot to say - Joan how are you after your weekend's excursion?

Weekend was great, swimming twice, a bit scary but it was only a small pool, I sat at the edge a while just dangling my feet, I tried walking in the water, felt strange, no idea if it was doing me any good, actually I won the bingo in the evening, now that was so co £100.

I didn't walk too far but sat on the rocks at the sea watching the grand daughter rock climb and hunt for mermaids, she just loved her weekend away and g/dad did all the running about.

Had a total rest day today.

    Joan,

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Pray for the best for him. This must be hard for everyone.

Although is hard to cancel your vacation plans for now, you wouldnt enjoy yourself know he is so sick.  There will be another time.  Family is important and sometimes life gets in the way.

HUGS to you, and I hope tings get better for you and your family.

Keep up your spirt and your faith. Be strong.

    Hi Patricia,

Thanks for asking about my Mom. She had a treatment last Friday. Saturday was a little better then down hill from there.  Today she called me and said that life is too hard and she is giving up.  I have made serveral calls over to the hospital and told them they need to give her more and FAST. This once a week thing will not work. I so hope they listen as they have already waited too long.  She needs more frequent ( 3 treatments a week for approx 10-12 treatments) its the only thing that will bring her back. I feel so sorry  for my Mom and it seems when you cant get in the health professionals face they dont listen to you. Thanks for letting me vent and thinking of me and my Mom.

Sorry to hear that Anita.  I have seen that treatment work wonders on a 95 yr. old aunt when given in right strength and right frequency for the patient.  Keeping my fingers crossed a solution will be found soon and that in the meantime somehow the message that things WILL improve with time can get through to your mom....not easy I know.

Ah, so sort on latest then reply to jenny, then sort on oldest takes me to the last post, seems to be back to front.

Anyway a what was I saying, just back from my consultant I have learned that I have 2 pins and a staple in my foot.  He was quite surprised that my foot is still so swollen and I have to go back in a further 6 weeks to check it away.  The V shape I have might get a bit better a he suggested taping 2nd and 3rd toe together, he said he would operate if I really wanted but said that it is tricky with the smaller toe bones and as it is not causing me pain would rather leave it.

Also spoke about pain in various bits of ankle and foot like the instep and under the toes and this will happen as the new foot re aligns itself with the body of can happen up to around 9 months.

Talking about second foot he would like to see left foot completely healed and perhaps around September time.  Was

    aontd

    i could

try driving if I want and to try in a quiete car park at first to see

howni get on, thought that was a good idea
