Hello there

Posted , 29 users are following.

Been following this group for a few weeks now and decided to jump in. I had bunion surgery, hammertoe, plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel release, all on the right foot on Feb 26. Have done really well except for falling twice and putting a lot of pressure on my foot trying to keep from falling. I am approaching week three and actually have more pain now than I did at first. Sutures are out, thank goodness and I am still no-weight bearing. I see the surgeon Friday and will probably go into a post surgical boot. I keep thinking I should be further along but I have to consider I had four procedures on one little foot! I am 63 years old and it is not easy getting around. Hubby rented me a knee walker and that really has been a big help. Happy healing to all!

    WEEK 5 DAY 6

Morning and hope everyone is doing ok as the day starts.

Woke up and foot is looking better. I believe I will take this day and ice and elevate and not go out. Yesterday I was out and abot for a couple hours and my foot swelled very fast.Walking doesn't seem to have a positive effect.

Rena  - Hope you made out well at the surgeon and you enjoyed that good food.

Patricia - Sounds like you are the queen and I'm the king of over doing it. EASY DOES IT.

Anitagirl - Thanks, I DO feel your hugs and hang in there today. We are close to shifting gears for our next phase.

Joan - I'm thinking now after seeing September in your post I will be doing my other one the same time. I also have that gap between my big toe and 2nd  and 3rd. He said surgery would correct it if I wanted to go thru that.

Shout out to Jenny, Eillen, Carman, be and beau.

Hang in there everyone. I believe we have all made it 100% thru all the difficult days in our lives. I'm praying today we don't get overwhelmed by whatever comes our way in this next 24 hr. STAY POSITIVE!!!!

Father in law died during the night, been a sleepless night one way or other.

Bob, I'm still hoping the v will get better, I will tape up my ties and use a toe spacer, doc says you need to use it all the time.  I think I will live with my V, really don't want the surgery,.

I do think September would be good  to aim for, for more surgery as left foot should be stronger by then,.

      Sad  day for us today.

    Hi everyone,

Taken me for ever to get on here again, seemed to have locked myself out! Hope everyone is doing well and that all recoveries are coming along as expected.

It is now week 6 day 5 for me and I seem to be coming along in bursts.

Had a lovely walk around Eyam (the plague village) on Sunday, well more like a walk/hobble/waddle sort of thing, and could hardly move yesterday. Foot very sore and swollen and today have managed a walk around the block.

Still unable to drive, can't seem to put too much pressure on the clutch - am determined to be driving by the end of next week as I only have 2 more weeks off work before I have to return.

My physio excersises are coming along nicely and I have a nice ''wiggle'' movement going with my toe and seem to be walking heel/toe a lot  better, just very very slowly.

Going to go and sit out in the garden now and enjoy a bit of the sunshine.

Carmen, try your driving out in a quiet car park to see how you feel, my surgeon suggested that was a good way to practice.  I'm not ready for driving yet, but things move on so quick with the feet maybe ready next week.

What a day of ups and downs for me, even forgot it is 7weekz tomorrow for me.

I managed around asda today, no crutches, no mobility carriage and managed pretty well, was great just getting around the shops. Foot was a bit swollen and had to have a wee lie down on my bed for half an hour.

      Enjoy ypur our sunshine today

Looking forward to a brand new day and week 7 for me.

Yesterday was full of ups and downs , father in law dying, cancelling holiday, then all the family urging us to go on holiday as the funeral is not until next Wednesday and we will be home by then.

It's actually a 60th birthday party we are going to and lots of friends from all around the uk are going we all worked together in Spain in the 1970/1980s so is actually a bit more than just a holiday

So it is re-booked and I am on a mission to find some shoes today.

I have asked for mobility assistance at the airport so that should save some walking.
