Hello there

Been following this group for a few weeks now and decided to jump in. I had bunion surgery, hammertoe, plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel release, all on the right foot on Feb 26. Have done really well except for falling twice and putting a lot of pressure on my foot trying to keep from falling. I am approaching week three and actually have more pain now than I did at first. Sutures are out, thank goodness and I am still no-weight bearing. I see the surgeon Friday and will probably go into a post surgical boot. I keep thinking I should be further along but I have to consider I had four procedures on one little foot! I am 63 years old and it is not easy getting around. Hubby rented me a knee walker and that really has been a big help. Happy healing to all!

A bit of comfort food is a must for days like that. You will soon work it off. It won't take you as long as it will me to shift any additional weight!!
Positive thinking Bob, you will get there.

Went to the hairdresser yesterday and had a hair cut. I told her to make it nice as I have a date with my couch for 6 weeks lol. Today I am cooking a Turkey for the two of us and we will have lots of yummy leftovers. I have a bit of running around to do this morning. Its currently snowing here where I live and -15C. Its supposed to get colder. Oh, my surgery time got changed from 11.30 to 1.30 with no drinking or eating after midnight. I called the office and asked if perhaps I could have a little water and they said NO. I feel like I wont survive that long without drinking. Did everyone else have to go without for that long? Big water drinker here.
Bob, think of this as "ME" time. Your spending time with you so make the best of it. The countdown is on with you date with the couch. It wont be forever. Remind me of this when start about the couch. Do some Sudhko or something different. You need to keep your mind stimulated and challenged.
Jan, that great that you didnt feel a thing. No pain is wonderful. Now the exercise therapy starts. Not good that you were on your foot so long. You need to baby your foot but I know its easier said then done especially when its your livelyhood. Take it easy today, rest and ice if you can.

Bob, I changed by chair, sofa, everyday for a different view. If you can get out, a short trip to a coffee shop or to get a sandwich does wonders to raise your spirits. I just use a chair and prop the foot up!

Anita, you will definitly need help from your husband and others in the beginning and it's best if we don't overthink the outcome. Good luck tomorrow my friend. Even tho I don't know you you will be in my prayers tomorrow!!!! Prayers to you for strentgh and courage.
Joan I was able to get out the last few days. Hour at a time. My foot throbs any longer. Went to visit a friend in rehab for his surgery. Thanks for the suggestion.
Jan - Ventnor coffee shop is definitly the place to go. All live music. Facebook or goggle it. Ventnor N.J.
Have the boys stopping over today. Want to wish everyone a peaceful day. Remember or lives are constantly changing and yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift!!!!

I too hit the one month mark and guess what.......yesterday was the most painful day I'd had since about day 5. Strange isn't it- I don't think I did too much yesterday or the day before but feeling better today and have been for a longer walk than I have had before. While it's not nice that we both suffered but it's reassuring for me to have someone else at the same stage have the same things happen.

Bob, I am not going in till Friday but thanks for thinking of me. I dont want Friday to come too soon. Getting more FREAKED out everyday, but you have all helped so much already. Hang in there. Sorry to hear about your sleep, I too am a side sleeper and I guess it will take some getting used to. Enjoy your day with your friends.
Eileen, congrtas on the the one month behind you too. Thats awesome. Very strange that you had so much pain yesterday. I wonder why. You need to chat with your Dr about that. Hang in there, its almost over.
Joan, I am already looking forward to just being by myself. Enjoy what you want on TV today. Its 'Your Day". Nice to have lots of visits and support. What do you mean your not getting up for one hour, hope you havent been up too much.
Enjoy your day everyone. Out to get groceries and tackle the SNOW. Sure hope spring gets here soon, but wait summer will be here when my date with the couch ends. Now that is something to look forward too.

So here is a question for anyone that has been through this, are you happy you did it or if you could go back in time would you not have done it?
Well I best move it, so we can have a nice dinner tonight just the two of us.
