Help, getting really down about Molluscum

Posted , 25 users are following.

I picked up Molluscum from a spa day back in March this year. I had the usual story of doctors telling me its fine and not to worry about it.

I then lost out on a relationship because of it in the summer and also started war on them.

I have had 3 freezing sessions at the clinic and new ones keep popping up or old ones coming back so I then brought a home kit as they wont let me back until three weeks have passed.

I am also using TTO which has helped shrink but never get rid of them.

I get really really down and upset about this virus as its been 5/6 months and new spots tend to appear over night. I have got to the point I don't know what is a little spot / blemish or what is a wart now and feel like I am treating anything.

Can anyone tell me how long they had this for? and also what do they look like when you are winning? Did they just stop appearing or did they appear then disappear quickly or all suddenly just start healing.

I just want a sign that my body is fighting it. I dont drink much, dont smoke, taking vitamins, work out etc.

So I think I can say I have no molluscum at this moment in time. I'm not sure if the last few were or not but anyway. Its been a long old journey and thank you everyone for your support. Hope it clears up quickly those who still have it . I also hope I dont get anymore come back. Think it was nine months in the end. Argh.

      hi gemma congratulations

how long did you have to wait to be declared completely free of it?

i just had something similar to you - no bumps for 3 weeks and 2 days then one showed up.

have been following what everyone here says really healthy and keep freezing.

the freezing means they go but i keep getting more its like wackamole

how long do you need to be free of any bumps to be certain they wont come back

Hey it sounds like your winning and also your nearly there. that was the same as me at the end started going two then three weeks and I'm not sure really maybe give it a month then I think your there. Woop keep doing what your doing and you will forget you ever had it soon enough.

hi! do you girls think this looks like MC?image

hi it's difficult to tell from the picture. I get some little white bumps in some areas but are not mc.

Do they feel raised or like a bump, can you see a little indent in the middle?

    thanks

its madness cos i dont even know how i got this or how long i had it as i thought it was razor bumps

the dr froze the initial outbreak months ago and told me that would be it - never said more would come or anything

im depressed - ive lost my confidence - i keep trying to forget it and get on with life but it haunts me the scars from cryo are awful and every time i think im done more come, and then i convince myself its just one - immune system is fighting - even more come..i feel disgusting and ashamed

Yes my confidence was gone too but trust me that will come back and you will feel great again. Try to work on other parts of yourself you can control. like your overall health and fitness so you come back feeling great.

I've still got one or two scars left but the rest have gone. the two left are on my thighs so I think its just because of the skin there.

I know every time one pops up it's like a smack in the face. try not to look at them until it's time for another freeze session,, pretend they are not there.

Hello Guys! I've been following this thread for quite a while. I've had MC last year and was diagnosed and treated recently about 2 months ago. I thought after the initial treatment (which effin cost me roughly around $1,000 USD), I can have my life back to normal without having to worry about this again. Until I started getting them again.. I currently have around 9 pcs right now which I find alarming cos I only had 1 last 7 days ago.

What sucks is that I can't go to the doctor rn to get treated because of the whole COVID-19 situation. I know MC is not as serious as any other disease let alone COVID-19 (hope everyone is safe!). I might sound petty but I can't help but feel worried. I'm currently putting betadine povidone iodine as a temporary treatment and covering it with bandaids / hydrocolloid patches. How can I control the spread of this? How are you guys dealing with it if any of you are affected by the lockdown?

I feel so down and angry for having to deal with this.

yep cant go anywhere now cos of covid 19

if you can get hold of compound advanced freezing kit you can freeze them at home

am interested to know what treatment you had done

im starting to think no treatments work - and they get rid of the bumps not the virus - the virus keeps replicating making more and more bumos until your immune system fights back taking 6-18 months

its awful - im sorry i cant give better advice - im so depressed about this

      hey guys,

So you're 100% right about the treatment getting rid of the bumps and not the virus. Essentially the purpose of the treatment is to 1. get rid of the spots so that they don't look as bad but also to help stop it from spreading (more bumps, more chance of touching those bumps causing spreading etc). and 2. the hope is when you attack the bumps, it forces your bodies immune system to look at it, which in turn could kick start the immune system. key word is COULD!

This is a s**t disease but it will go and it will get better. I was exactly like you guys a couple months ago, my life revolved around it and I struggled to do anything else. I am not virtually clear, I've been getting maybe 1 every month or longer and am not even convinced they were molloscum. I just burned them to be safe.

in regards to your question Alisha, best way to avoid spreading which worked for me. Be very careful hygiene wise around there. Change underwear every 12 hours presuming you only shower once a day. When you shower, wash that area last and wash hands after washing that area. Use a different towel to pat dry/soak dry the area and then wash that towel. Do not reuse a towel which was used for that area and please do not rub dry it with the towel (could break the molloscum and cause more spreading).

Hope that helps a bit guys!

My treatment was extreme. I had to undergo surgery and get stitches cos it got really huge so to find new bumps appear is really a bummer. I have a weak immune system so that's what I'm also trying to work on. Drinking vitamins and ACV (since I heard ACV is good for skin bacteria issues). About the freezing kit, I'll try to check if I can get that here.

I try my best not to obsess about it but it is always on my mind. It's also hard to not have someone to talk about it because it's really embarrassing to have this but good thing this forum is alive.

Thank you so much for the tip. I'm always using tissue to dry the area with it so it looks like I'm on the right path. I'm hoping it doesn't grow big to the point that I have to get another surgery.

also what about maturbation - i jerked off today after 4 months - really needed that but was worried i could get more as a result and spread to places i didnt have any

Hey roger49312, how are you? I just want to share with you that after a month of religiously putting povidone-iodine on the MC bumps, nothing much happened. LOL I decided to pop them a week ago (of course, with extra precaution, made sure everything is sterile) and made sure to extract the core before putting tea trea oil and band-aid. Surprisingly, out of the 12 I popped, only 1 seem to be still active. There might have been some core residue so I will try to pop it again. As of checking, there are no new lesions and praying that there won't be new lesions ever. haha

I know you popped a few of yours? How did it go for you? I'm feeling hopeful that this might end my MC journey.
