Help Me Please

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have been having the symptoms of this condition for about 5 months now and after A visit to my gp last week he wanted to run full bloods. These came back as normal today, but I ended up seeing another gp instead he now wants to run another full lot of bloods which I know will come back the same as these ones. Can any one help me in telling me how you managed to get diagnosed with this condition. It just seems an endless system of gps wanting blood and saying nothing is wrong when these come back normal, they said that they might refer me to a neurologist but this could take about twelve months, but really he did not see any point as he said there was nothing wrong. I am at the end of my teather now. Sleepless nights, hot sweats, the constant aching, the pins and needles, the chronic tirdness, trying to work and be a mum and a wife I can not do it any more all I do is cry as no one seems to be able to help. is there light at the end of the tunnel.

    Hi Tess and everyone,

Does anyone get the fatigue that can be part of the Fibro? I think at the moment that`s worse that the pain! I`m still stiff but not so much pain as usual but the fatigue is awful it takes me ages to do anything cause I have to keep stopping for a rest. Could be old age I suppose! lol

Think the anti-depressant is working even at its half dose as I don`t feel so down as I did last week. that`s something I suppose

    take care everyone

Sorry have not been on in a few days but have been a bit busy. Had a wedding on Friday and had to do all the flowers for the party afterwards was absoloutly shattered. I have read the list that you left and my god does it sound familiar, especially the dioreeha sorry to bring it up but what a night mare !!!!!

My headaches aching body and nausea are the worst to contend with I think but we keep on going

Hope you are all fighting okay. The hard bit I am trying to keep up with are the kids on summer holiday wanting to go here and there and am just finding it hard to keep up with them. Trying not to get too moody but have had a few emotional bursts at them for things that are so small but sometimes just cant stop!!!!

    Hi Helen

Good to hear from you again. You have been really busy! It must be a lot harder for you when the children are off school. I have only got four weeks left looking after my grand daughter Molly and she keeps me busy. I am so looking forward to having some time back again but will miss her. She starts school in September but my daughter finishes on maternity leave at the end of August. New baby a little girl who she is calling Sophie is due end of September.

Hope you get some rest in between looking after the children.

I know what you mean about the diahorea don't know if I spelt that right.

I have had irritable bowel for the last eight or nine years now and have had to really change my going out somedays.

    Will speak again soon.

    Hi Linda

I am sure its not due to old age! Its the dreaded fibro. I have had fatigue as well. I find if I have too many late nights then I end up with a migraine and feel really tired for several days after. Try not to have too many close together. Do you think it could be a side effect of your tablets as well. I take amplitripline in the evening only 10mg but once I have taken it feel really tired an hour or so later. Saying that I have only been on for just over a week but feel it is making me feel happier in myself.

You also have your condition and you look after your husband so you will be more tired as well. Try to have a good rest easier said than done.

    Hi Ses and Everyone

Hope upu are all not in too muh pain today. I have had more pain over the last few days that is now due to the damp wet weather we have been having sad

This will be the second appointment with the rheum Ses in October as I saw he in June when he said I had Fibro. Was really nice then and very informative about the condition. Also want to know what they will do about the osteo. My gp said it was no worse for any person of my age 52. Will I have to go back so they can see it doesn't deteriate. As he did say my right knee would need a replacement in time. He didn't say when but could have been talking about 20 years from now!

I now know I have in in my fingers, wrists, knees and feet. I could have it in other places that they haven't checked lol! Have had a bad back for long while comes and goes but it could be fibro pain. It is so confusing when there two things going on. I do believe in keeping positive though as that is what got me through my cancer as well as the treatment.

When I was 40 had thyroid cancer, then now I am fifty get osteo and fibro.

Whats next lol  Did tell my doctor I wanted a new body before he found out about fibro :P

Enough of my grumbling. Soon to be a nanny again for the second time in eight weeks. Something good to look forward to.

Keep smiling everyone although its hard :o

    Bless you Tess,

I am off to the docs today and I am asking for further x-rays as my back/hip, shoulders are so painful still and theres the numbness too!!!!! like you say could be the fibro but I am wanting to make sure, as I believe that I am not on the correct meds as this is why I am in so much pain!!!!!

I have underactive thyroid trouble too Tess, thyroid problems apparently can contribute to pain and fatigue so we are at a no win situation with the fibro, our osteo or thyroid!!!! Keeping our stress levels down is the best way to cope, and you will have a happy occasion with a new bundle of joy xx September baby is good as all bright sparks are born in September like me (1st) lol

I do hope we all have a better day take care everyone and keep smiling...... xxxxx

    Hi Ses and Everyone

Hope you get on ok at the doctors and they listen to you and finally get to the bottom of your pain.

When you have more than one thing going on it so difficult to work out whats causing what. When I had thyroid cancer had my thyroid removed so have to take thyroxine. I have to take a higher dose than normal to stop and cancer cells recurring. So not sure if I would be classed as underactive or overactive can never work that one out.

My twins Steph and Chris who are nearly 20 we born on 23rd September! :o

Hope to hear from you later see how you got on.

Thinking about everyone else today hope you all not too bad.

    Hi Tess, Ses and everyone

Hope your docs appt. goes ok Ses you certainly are having a rough time of it! I also have an underactive thyroid, is there a connection with the fibro do you know? I never know if I`m tired from the thyroid or if its the fatigue of the fibro! the last time my meds were changed I gained a stone and a half in two months. My GP was away and it didn`t get sorted until he came back last week. Apparently it was the medication not my thyroid!

How are you today Tess, is the amitriptyline working? We none of us seem to have one thing wrong do we? I have arthritis in my knees and don`t know if its fibro in my wrists or arthritis.

Well take care everyone talk later

    Hi Linda and everyone

I definately think it is starting to help and make me feel better in myself. I don't feel so down as I did. Sleep wise still unsure although it does make me really sleepy after taking it. Keep waking at the moment at 4 in the morning for the toilet. Don't really drink that much before going to bed though. Been going to bed about 10.30 and waking at 4. Still feel really tired on waking in the morning though and feel I have not had the good part of sleep pattern.

Its early days though only been on for 10 days now and need to give it a bit longer. Still got aches and pains especially with the weather changing.

How are you getting on with your tablets! Do you think they are helping?

Hope everyone is ok tonight :o

    Hi folks,

The doctor thinks the numbness in my leg is coming from my hip/back and the numbness in my arm is coming from my neck and shoulders so I am to have an xray in the cervical spine (neck) along with an xray in my hips/pelvis, the doctor was very nice and she listened to me, I was very surprised as I had seen her 18 months ago before any diagnosis, basically at the beginning of my battle!!!

I am off to the pain clinic on wednesday so I am hoping I may get my xrays done on the same day???.....

I believe that thyroid and fibromyalgia are quite often linked and it appears that most of the meds we take to control the fibro help gain weight so we have a bit of a fight to loose weight, that is why I have help and it seems to be working thank goodness!!!

Tess you have been so brave recovering from your thyroid cancer, bless you, I often wake up early hours of the morning or I am unable to get to sleep at all, the last time I was like that was when I was thinking about the appeal for the DLA, it appears the doctor on the panel was a cancer specialist too, I do not know how a doctor can compare illnesses as they are totally different, as cancer would effect people different to fibro as there is no comparison, you are so strong Tess, and now you having fibro too at least I know how you feel now but couldn't imagine the pain you had with the thyroid cancer........ Big hugs to you hun x I hope you have all the support too at least you have your grandchildren to cheer you up, my little boy being two is quite a handful, but he has adapted to my difficulties and he is so pleasurable with his little antics, if I drop say my pen he picks it up for me and his little ways do cheer us up!!!

Thank you so much Linda for your kind words too I do hope everyone has had a better day, I am just hoping that the day is better tomorow for us all , hopefully a warmer and brighter day xx big hugs to you all and sweet dreams xx

    Hi Ses and Everyone

A lovely wet day here today and didn't sleep to well with aches and pains all over. Was really stiff when woke up this morning and my knees feel like someone has kicked me in them. Oh well just have to get on with it.

So pleased you had a positive outcome at the doctors it is just what you need. Hope you get your xrays done on Wednesday as well at the pain clinic.

Have been clear of cancer now for eleven years and only stopped going for a yearly check at the hospital last year. It was painful at the time but soon forgotten

It is really good your little boy understands at a young age. They do make you smile even when you are not feeling too well with the little things they do and say. Molly is always making me feel better when she comes to visit.

Well I hope everyone has a better day and not a rainy day like we have here to set the aches and pains off.

Should be going away Bank holiday weekend but not sure where yet. Hope the weather improves before then.

    Hi everyone.

I can sympathise with your quest for DLA. I was refused at first when I tried to claim for my foot after my surgeon left me disabled. They refused at first but then I appealed. I have to go infront of the chief of homecare, a scolicitor and a doctor.

I got a letter a few days later saying that the decision was unanimous that it should not have even gone to appeal, they thought that I should have got it straight away. The annoying thing I found through the whole process is that people who have very little wrong with them seem to get this benefit but those of us who have a genuine condition seem to get turned down. Do not give up keep trying there are more routes that you can go down and ways to appeal.

I even went as far to get my local mp involved who wrote letters on westminster paper!!!!!!!!!. He even took the time to phone me and speak to me in person to see what he could do to help.

Any way enough of my ranting on. All I am saying is do not give up it is a hard process but you can get through it.

    Hello Jane Ses and everyone,

Exhausted today! Fetched my mother for the day yesterday, in her 80`s and rather forgetful!! I always feel tired after driving but more so today. So nothing planned today, just a blood test for hubby,

I think new meds are helping, no side effects now and not so down as I was but sleeping and fatigue still a real problem. Like you Tess usually awake at 4 and that`s it.

well hope everyone is ok the sun is shining at the moment so fingers crossed

    Hi Linda, Ses and Everyone

How are you all today. Hope you had an easier day Linda after yesterday. You must get some rest as well. It an't be easy for you though :o

I am like you feeling better with my tablets but still trying to get my sleep problem sorted. Suppose it will take time. Its horrible when you wake so early and can't get anymore sleep. Shattered then during the next day!

We have had horrible rain today not very good for aches and pains.

Hope you are doing alright Ses and your hips are not giving you too much pain.

    Take care everyone

    Hi there everyone,

I have had a hectic day, I was at the hospital this morning first to get my x-rays and then to the pain clinic......the Pain Consultant said Why I was having another x-ray as I had one on my hips last year? the point I said well I am in more pain and my doctor and myself would like to know if the Osteo has progressed? he said I was too young for a hip replacement so he couldnt understand what having an x-ray would achieve, but then he went to get a prescription slip and seem to take a while and then he came back to say he went to see if the results were back but they weren't....... probably get back around Friday at the earliest? he has told me to stop taking the Gabapentine and go onto Lycra so we will see if this helps?

Glad your Meds are helping Linda x and I hope you are ok too Tess, I am really exhausted I feel like the plug has been pulled out..... long day though as I had my Support Group meeting and so I had to have the energy for that too, but it was nice talking to other people, and it appears we are all different........ anyway I do hope everyone is having a good day xxxx gentle hugs xxxx
