Help please withdrawal from Bilicor /Bisporolol ????

Hi guys, I'm a 38 year old female with pcos. Have my own business which is extremely stressful and was dealing with lots of legal issues this Jan 2020 when I went to the GP for a kidney infection. Doc picked up racing pulse and increased blood pressure and put me on Pearinda (not sure dosage) and Bilicor /Bisporolol 2.5 mg as well as Lipitor 10mg. Well 2.5 months later I managed to change my eating and exercising and lost 6kg and after exercising one day felt so bad and faint. I can't even type about this experience and I feel so ill and afraid to go through the same events. Well due to Covid 19 hubby insisted on not taking me to hospital which was the correct thing to do. I waited until the next day to see the doc again and she said that my blood pressure and pulse was low due to the tablets and the weightloss. So she asked me to stop all tablets immediately. The next day April 8 2020 I felt the worst I have ever felt in my life. I had anxiety, panic attacks lasting for hours, dry mouth, shaking hands, pain in my hands and cold hands and feet. My stomach would be sore and I would run to the toilet every few minutes, ulcer pain, gas. Went back to the doc and she said it's anxiety and gave me tablets for stress. I felt like I was dying.

That night I couldn't even put my head on the pillow I couldn't breathe and needed the room windows all open and the dry mouth and racing heart was horrible. Went back to the doc and she said she couldn't do anything more for me and I needed to go to hospital. And with COVID 19 the hospital close to home was closed and not accepting patients. Doc also said there's no such thing as withdrawal from Bisporolol as I did some research and found this forum. I'll never go back to that Doc again and will tell everyone of my experience. She's not a physician or specialist and put me on such dangerous pills. I went through withdrawal at home with my parents and hubby taking care of me.

I read here many of your stories which helped me get through the hardest time of my life!!! I read that magnesium helps, short walks and plenty of rest and water. Did all that and it certainly helped. Today is exactly 1 month later since I stopped the tablets, and although it's gotten so so so much better and I feel human again, I still experienced slight anxiety last night with a bit of dry mouth as I couldn't lay flat on my pillow again and barely slept. I tried starting exercising again however I'm terrified of feeling like this again. What I did notice with bisporolol it hides or masks all the pain you feel and once off the tablet, it all comes flooding back at one time. Now I'm battling with a pinched nerve causing pain in my neck and arms as well as severe ulcer pain with loads of gas. Also when I feel like going to the loo, I also feel a panic attack coming on but it's not as bad as the first few weeks.

My question for you guys who went through this, how long will it take for me to be back to normal totally. I'm 38 about 70kg, 1.6m, been on this for roughly 2 months. I meditate every day, take vitamins and magnesium, slow short walks, eat fairly healthily now. I rest quite a bit as well. Would love your support and advice please? TIA

    Hi to All,

The doctor prescribed me Bisoprolol 5mg two pills a day for two to three weeks, then I started weaning a little until it stopped completely after less than two months and the symptoms began to appear. Less but still. Three months since I stopped taking this evil drug, the secret heartbeat and dizziness have gone away, but I still have a sore throat, suffocation, frequent swallowing, difficulty swallowing, and the ringing in the ears, but it became lighter, and when I asked the doctor, he told me it has nothing to do with this drug. I suffer from anxiety with Knowing that I did not suffer from such symptoms in my life until after I used Bisoprolol and stopped it. I am much better, but anxiety always accompanies me. As for pain when swallowing or pressure on the ears, but according to what I read here, I am not the only one. Almost everyone suffers from the same symptoms, and this is somewhat reassuring. I hope whoever found a cure that speeds up the withdrawal process will help us and everyone's safety

So there has beena turn of events in my story. It turned out that I had severe gastritis which was causing all my issues. For the past 2 or so years, I did the following:

      1. Stopped coffee, spicy foods, sugar
      2. Ate only steamed chicken, fish and veg
      3. Took bone broth and cammomile tea

Lost over 20kg and manage my symptoms with food and exercise and manage stress. Have not been on any BP medication since and weight is now about 59kg and I'm 1.57m. So now all my health issues have corrected with diet.

      Hope this helps.

I do not want to scare you. I used it for two months only, and I stopped taking it two years ago, and I still suffer from side effects such as dizziness, fatigue, tinnitus, and cold feet and no power I take vitamins, and I am afraid that I will not get rid of these effects for life.

I too am having a very bad experience. See my post for my bisoprolol journey, still not complete. I would like everyone who has suffered or is suffering from this drug to complete a yellow card on the MHRA website, and include your withdrawal symptoms. It's the only way we as patients can try to convince the medical profession that this is real.

      Hi Helen

I stopped taking bisoprolol two years ago and the symptoms are still with me, for example:

At this moment, my legs are frozen, and I feel a pulse in my legs, and the muscles of my body are tense, but fortunately, I know that it is the withdrawal of this despicable drug

Thanks for your reply, reassuring that I'm not alone with all these problems and there's still someone out there listening. I've had a really bad few days again, bedridden and in a lot of pain that moves around. I'm hoping it becomes tolerable again sooner rather than later.

I want to reassure you that you are not the only one who suffers from bisoprolol withdrawal symptoms. I have an appointment with the doctor, but I will not tell him anything because I know that there is no solution and any help from failed doctors will make the matter worse. I will tell you the symptoms that still come to me: difficulty swallowing, sudden body coldness Tinnitus in the ears, a sudden drop of energy for no reason, imbalance while walking, spasm of the body muscles and thus difficulty in breathing, but the good thing is that sometimes I feel a clear improvement, but the symptoms return. I think it is a matter of time, but unfortunately it is a very long time.

Sometimes I feel pulsations like a heartbeat in my legs, in my back, in my hands.

I feel my heart pounding throughout my body all the time, with surges of palpitations. The pain is moving throughout my body. it stays for a day in one place then moves to another, but all mainly on the torso. im trembling all over and sometimes shake violently. I feel sick so am finding it difficult to eat properly. I thought I was improving a week ago. I did a little light gardening. That's what's set all these symptoms off again. have you considered that this is all damage to the central nervous system caused by toxicosis from bisoprolol? toxicosis can cause fibromyalgia.

I want to reassure you that I am still suffering from the harms of this medicine. Do not be afraid and remember that your body is full of adrenaline that this medicine caused. Even if your heart rate is high, do not be afraid. It is all a lie from adrenaline. I am just like you. Remember that nothing can help magnesium. But you will go through good days and you think that you are normal, but this is a lie of the body that needs time as I said time and patience, I know how hard it is as hell but we have to bear and remember that there is no treatment any medicine you take even if the doctor prescribed it will harm you, what happens to you is natural, Tell me, how long have you been taking this drug and how long have you stopped it so far?

I took it for 27 days. I stopped it after going to a&E in excruciating pain in my abdomen and violent shaking.

I've now been off it for 6 weeks only. from your experience, it sounds like I'm a novice, and not a tough one. I was prescribed it for hypertension. my bp is now through the roof and all the doctors are concerned with is prescribing more meds to bring that down. I have refused until my body is back to normal. I was accused of making all these symptoms up as an excuse to stop taking the meds, including the previous two meds I had tried with bad side effects. there is obviously no help out there for us. just talking about it.

I took it just like you for a month, and now I stopped taking it for two years, and the symptoms are still with me, but they are improving, but two years, and I think I need another year، when you need my help please tell me,

not be afraid and remember that everything that happened and what will happen to you is false torment. Do not be afraid, it is not a disease. I know it's annoying but no matter how long it takes we will be back better than before

Yesterday and today I suffered from muscle spasms, ringing in the ears, cold feet, heaviness in the head, and loss of energy in the body. I don't know how long this nightmare will last.

How awful! sorry for very late reply. found this in my junk file. I hope this latest episode has passed and you're tolerating life again ok. Have you ever been able to tie down anything that sets these episodes off, or is it just random?

Sometimes I feel as if I considered it normal, and suddenly I wake up and feel all over my body trembling, coldness in the legs, and tension in the eyes. Logical analysis after consulting my husband that my body is making extra adrenaline for no reason. I think I need a lot of time. I stopped all the vitamins too. We'll see.

I am waking up suddenly with adrenalin rush, rapid heart beat, trembling and hot flushes (which I am well past the age for!) in early hours. I have found over the last few weeks that my hormones are all over the place, with the hot flushes, adrenalin and really sore throat around the thyroid. I do feel a little improvement? or I may be getting used to it. Some of us are not made equal to the white male sample they used to test this compound on. Hang on in there. Your body just needs a lot of time to heal whatever has been affected. Our bodies are amazing with what they can achieve.

I was also suffering from it but don't be afraid it will go away 100%

I'm currently on bisoprolol 5mg for 17 days and i wanna come off it , my dr said taper it for another 1 week 2.5mg nd then stop it .

I'm jst really confused on what to do .

i really would appreciate if you answer some of my questions :

did you side effects start right after taking the last dose ? or it took some time to start appearing.

did you experience side effects on the first 2 weeks while taking it ?

how did you taper it down ? did you do 1 week 1/2 dose and next week 1/4 dose etc ?

      Hi Ruhan

It's a long sad story, the symptoms started from the first days while taking it. Difficult side effects, the first of which is the coldness of the body, especially the legs. The most important thing is that I became like an old man and lost energy. After a month, my wife advised me to stop it because I basically don't need it, and here is hell. I stopped it suddenly and my life started to turn into hell. Ringing in the ears. Discomfort during swallowing. From experience, but the long time and patience. All the symptoms you will face are not the fact that it is the adrenaline that this damned drug caused us. My advice to you from today is to stop the medicine because the time becomes longer if you continue with it. Stop it from today. Reduce the dose to half for a month and then also to half until Your body will get rid of it, you will face hell and I hope you will not face it, but if you do, remember my words, it is a lie. you are not sick and do not take any medicine, stay away from medicine, only vitamin magnesium, and whenever you need help, I am ready. You can send me a private message through this site.
