HOT WEATHER !!

Hi All

How are all Fibro People coping with the heat we are experiencing at the moment?

I am finding it unbearable, as with already have heat in my body, the outdoors is unbearable.

I was at work today and our office has Air Conditioning and it felt great. Until, I finished work and left the building how HOT it really was outside. I have a 30 min walk to get home and I was toasted by the time I got home.

I am finding the pains in my hands are bad at the moment and I am also experiencing pains in my elbow areas too.

Staying calm and positive I am getting on with my day.

Stay cool and enjoy the natural vit D......cool

I love summer..the heat is much better for the Fibro, SS and AO..we are in winter here-Aus...Fibro hates winter for me.  Isn't it it just sooooo interesting how we all are..some where their Fibro hates the heat and visa versa..just goes to show how it's so very different for each of us..:-) xxx

Hi all; isn't that funny....for me the Hot weather is the worst....that's when I get the "burning" sensations....last November, when we had a heat Wave here, that's when I had to increase my Amitriptylline to stop the pain....and still find it's the only med/treatment that relieves that pain........Bron

It's unreal how the weather and Fibro works so differently for each of us...Amitriptylline is the only med I take and it works just awesome for me...as long as I get that good nights sleep I can cope with anything...Osteo Oanadol 3 times a day tooo...now that's a good over the counter one. Gotta say I really don't like too much heat...but that's just me...that's why Tassie is great weather..only ever has a couple of days 40* in summer??average is about 26....be blessed...have a lovely day..:-) xxx

Hi Kaz, sorry to read your not having the best of days. Hope you enjoy having company today though.

Im not having a particularly good day either. Quite a lot of discomfort from yesterday. Aside from my left hip that had the treatment my back is really sore from travelling and being moved about from bed to theatre trolley and so on. Then I woke up and Chris my hubby had had to go out, went downstairs and my freezer door was slightly open. Checked to see damage and I've lost half the contents of the freezer. I've just dumped all the defrosted stuff in the bin and ice creams down the sink. I've got enough defrosted meat to have a bbq for six, if only I was up for it.

After that wake up call my youngest daughters boyfriend called me to say that she's had a number of blackouts since yesterday. At least I know she's being looked after by him.

Well....that was a good old venting!!! 😳 seriously though, I really hope you start to feel a little more on the up soon. Damn  this fibro thing, it sure knows how to knock us about doesn't it?

Finally congrats on your poetry debut on here, I'm not sure I could be brave enough to follow Maggers. Well done 😀!

Hi lisa You reas my mind I was just about to message you. I was wondering how you were after yesterday. I thought you might be in alot of pain discomfort bless you really feel for you.If that wasnt enough to cope with hearing about your daughter her not being good having black outs that a worry for you, then to find yourfreezer door open food wrecked can the day get any worse no on second thoughts dont answear that 1. Monday 2am in the morning I couldnt sleep I started to think about fibro not a good thing to think about when this poem started going round in my head so I sat up found pen paper wrote it down. I was hesitent on putting it on the forum as maggers is a hard act to follow. but thought hey ho give it a whirl. I use to love poetry as a child. I hope your pain discomfort will ease up for you and hope your daughter will be go ok try get plenty of rest take care thinking of you gentle hugsmile

I know, rubbish day, and your right I never say that phrase. It tempts fate far to much. I know things will settle for me in a few days and fingers crossed it will put the inevitable surgery off for a while. As for my daughter, again it's a lifelong condition and she too will have good times and bad. I wish she didn't have such hard times when they are bad though.

Following Maggers really is a tough act to follow. I too write poetry but I think I'm a little to nervous to follow Maggers. I take my proverbial hat of to you, maybe one day I'll follow you both.

I really feel for you too, having such a painful time. Have you tried hydrotherapy. If there was something I wish I could do on a regular basis, that would be it. You have to be really careful not to do to much so as not to trigger the extreme tiredness, but the affect on muscles and joints was heaven for me. Bless you for your concern for me, it's been very much appreciated.

Very gentle hugs for you xx

Hi lisa I havnt tried hydrotherapy yet I think we can have it at our local hospital for so many weeks same as we can get accupunture for 12 weeks free.I agree with you we have to be careful what we do so that we dont make matters wose fo ourselves. I feel for your daugter and what she has to endure bless her. rest up take care gentle hugs xx

I do hydrotherapy myself..once I learnt what to do at the hospital,, I just use our local resorts indoor heated swimming pool a few times a week. I've been doing it for years...it's the only real excersing that I can do..soooo good for you..some days I can only go in 1/2 hour walking up and down...but the doctor says that's really good for me too....gentle excersing.., just sitting in a pool and having water lap around you is very good for circulation too..be blessed Kaz..:-) xxx

My local hospital will only do 6wks at a time, but I recently found out that as long as you don't mind the process, you can just keep being referred at the end of each course. I going to see my GP as soon as I can get an appointment and get another referral.

Hi Christine, I tried to do the same thing as you, but found the water at my local pool far to cold. It would be so good if I had a better pool to go to as any excercise would be good in the water. I could go as often as I felt able and far more convenient than traveling to the hospital.

So glad you have somewhere local.

      Gentle hugs 😊

I would be lying if I said it was a good day today 😔 Funnily enough I've just come back to bed to try and get some sleep and noticed all my emails. I thought I would respond to all of you friendly people, leave the rest and then try to get some rest.

Im glad your headache has started to ease, how was your company or are you still waiting.

Thanks for asking again. Talk to you all again later.

Sounds like you need the very gentle kind of hugs today. 😊

      Hi Lisa,

      Poor you.....gentle hugs to you.

That's alot to go through but people around are helping wherever needed. Your daughters boyfriend must be a godsend for you as you can rest assure that she is not on her own.

Freezer products can be replaced, but ever so annoying freezer door not quite shut......easily done.

One day at a time wink x

Thanks Bee, I'll give the subject some thought.

Re.. My daughter. I'm so glad she has someone who looks after her so well. I found out this evening that the fan they have wasn't keeping her sufficiently cool enough so he went out and bought an actual wind machine 😃 how's that for devotion? I really do feel much more at ease that he's there for her.
