HOT WEATHER !!

Hi All

How are all Fibro People coping with the heat we are experiencing at the moment?

I am finding it unbearable, as with already have heat in my body, the outdoors is unbearable.

I was at work today and our office has Air Conditioning and it felt great. Until, I finished work and left the building how HOT it really was outside. I have a 30 min walk to get home and I was toasted by the time I got home.

I am finding the pains in my hands are bad at the moment and I am also experiencing pains in my elbow areas too.

Staying calm and positive I am getting on with my day.

Stay cool and enjoy the natural vit D......cool

Hi Bee. I take etodolac which is an anti inflammatory. I used to take amittiptylline, gp took me off them 4 years ago. Trying cocodamol at the moment, keeps me asleep for a couple of hours, then awake every 1-2 hours sometimes with pain other times for no reason. Really struggling in the heat. Taking its toll on my hands, hips, knees and feet. Keeping plodding along, smile on face. Gentle hugs. Have a good day

Hi Kaz. Sorry your having a bad day. Have you ever tried tai chi. I did it until December last year, when I had the reaction to simvastatin. It really helped me, didn't get rid of the pain, but it helped to relax using meditation. Happy birthday to your dog, mine is 3 on Saturday, he doesn't know what to do with himself either. It's hard for us and we understand what is causing it, but they don't. Hope your fan is helping. Gentle hugs. Take care

I try to keep away from meds. At the moment the heat is taking over, so trying to stay calm and cool is a challenge in itself. My hands are in so much pain again today, and I think the hot weather isn'tb helping me.

Gentle hugs to you. Going to have an ice-cream to cool me down. wink x

Hi Janet; just curious, why did your GP  take you off Amitrptylline, and start Endolac.....they are different drugs (as you say one is an anti-inflammatory, while other is a Nerve-pain blocker..with sleep assistance and minor anti-depressant)...do you have Arthrites/Fibro or both....I have both plus some other issues, but really find I need an anti-inflammatory and my Amitriptylline, plus Gabapenten  etc....needing to understand what is happening to you and why the change of medications????...........Bron

Afternoon Kaz. Still in a lot of pain. GP has taken me off the statin again. Need to go back and see her again in a month to see whether it is the statin causing the problem or a flare up of the fibromyalgia. The knitting is coming along nicely. I already have a lemon shawl and 6 matinee coats and a pram set, just started knitting a bed time suit. Never tried one of those before. Most of the patterns I am using patterns that I used for both my daughter and son when they were babies. Hope you are having a good day. Have a lovely weekend 😊. Take care and gentle hugs

Hi Kaz. Sorry to hear your having problems with your back. That is were I have most of my fibromyalgia pain. Although most days it likes to take a walk around my body and find somewhere new to cause havoc. The statins were causing me severe pain. Although the GP wasn't sure if it was the atorvastatin or a flare up of the fibromyalgia. She said the simplest thing to do was stop the statin and see if it gets better, but will take a month to get out of my system. Heyho we go back in a month for more prodding and poking. Hope you have a good day. Take care and gentle hugs x

This is my fifth year now and I find Summer the worst part of the year, hot days just suck the life out of you, same as sitting in a hot bath, as for pain,it's something I am used to, but the only draw back on that is I am always angry, pain makes me angry so I have stopped going out anywhere, if I have to go out I stay in my car, by the time I get home i'm ready to kill someone, that's why I stay in. The thought of hurting someone terrorfies me, I know what's wrong and what's right but there are too many people who don't, greedy selfish people who if they felt 1/3 of the pain we are in wouldn't be able to do anything but scream and cry, but I do feel the same as you Bee70, having no energy at all is far worse than the pain, pain can be controled, but eveyone is different. the worst thing about this illness is that it's not fatal.

      Hi Kaz

Glad to hear your earache is easing.  wink

Where has the weekend gone? The weather is cooler than the past few days, but I am still finding it humid. It's nice having my mum down, although I don't allow her to do anything. Kids are happy to have her down too. Back to work tomorrow. I have a busy week ahead......my youngest son has a transition day at his new secondary school on Tuesday and the parents have a meeting in the evening. All day training at work on Wednesday at work for our new computer systems which goes live July 27th. My dad arrives on Friday from Woverhampton and in between I have family popping in and out to see my mum.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Gentle hugs wink x
