How did you lot cope with doing house work before you thr?
Due to being unfit to work i spend all day in the house on my own till family come home but i feel lazy if i do nothing so i constently do housework but the severe pain it cause literally reduces me to curling up in a fetal position and crying, plue tramadol are no help at all for the severe pain im in.
So does anyone have any good tips for housework without chronic pain?

My husband and family used to say it upset them to see me in so much pain, they much rather I asked them to do a bit more to help. In the end I took to reading and puzzle books, anyone who knows what this is like would never deem you lazy, its you and only you beating yourself up about resting and looking after yourself. Just think what you would say to a friend if they were going through this - be kind to yourself xxx. Your family would much rather they came home to you happy and rested.Take care xxxx

It came about after I had an ectopic pregnancy and was told no housework for 3 months. I use the 'plenty of fabric conditioner' method and bung it all in the tumble drier. I hated ironing anyway and found that there really wasn't any need to do it. We aree look smart and my partner even has wrinkle free work shirts.

I'm sure your family really wouldn't want you to suffer more than you have to, but I also get your feelings. Its a hard balance managing home and disease and I don't think anyone has cracked it yet!! I for one just plod on through, try to remember you need to protect that joint beforehand too.
I hope it helps to realise you're not the only one and you're not going mad!

and then your brother just coming in with mud and what-ever-kind-of-dirt from outside ??? can you ask him to take of his shoes/boots ?
Oh I am sure you already did, and he doesn't do it ...
that is very challenging --- especially when you are at home all day, by your self and have to look at it, go into the kitchen etc ...
how do you do it now? it is the floor mostly, right - You might be able to do it now, but I don't think that after the surgery you will ....
not sure what to tell you, sweetheart - He just has to help you out and keep the kitchen and rest of house as clean as possible ...
big warm hug
