HRT life is good again.....

Hi ladies I just wanted to share some

Positive feedback. I know HRT is not a

Solution for everyone but it seems to be

Working for me after 4 years of misery

Wasted years now that I look back.

I have lots of energy, I could barely make it out of bed before, the depression has gone and the terrible aggressive grumpiness too

Thank god. I am taking a patch its been 6

Weeks now and my gyneocologist takes the same one. I am 50 and my periods stopped at 46 and I was unhappy for 4 years. I have a 9 year old son, and I wanted to enjoy him.

I know there are risks but for me I want to

Enjoy now and not waste the years I have.

My gyneocologist is very supportive around the same age as me and is pro HRT. I know not all doctors are. I hope you all find a way to get through this awful stage of life for me it had to be full on chemical warfare ! ! Lol 😁

      Hi Tinaarena

Sorry for the late reply I have been off

      Enjoying life !

      My patch is Femsept Evo

I live in France but I don't know the

      Equivalent.

I noticed a difference in 2 weeks but I did have a period after 8 days bit of a shock after 4 years. Generally I feel

Better am going to a check up with

Gynecologist tomorrow. I did have an awful dip a week ago and felt as bad as ever dont know why. It takes 3

      Months to work apparently.

Give it a try it's not perfect but almost.

      😊

I agree with you.  I am a fit and active woman and for years I have felt that some women (including myself) actually NEED HRT as they age.  After years of trying so called 'natural' remedies, and spending a lot of money on these, I decided to go on to Livial/Tibolone 250mg daily.  Within a few weeks the hot flushes, dryness and lack of libido and lack of energy problems were solved.  I began these tablets in 2004.   Over the years a couple of doctors have tried to talk me out of taking them and I stopped twice but had so many problems I went back on to the tabs.  I am now almost 74 and last year I decided to reduce the tablets a little so have been taking one 2.5mg Livial/Tibolone every two days.  This works fantastically for me and I will continue with them forever.

Here's an interesting article on HRT that you should all read..........take a look at the Women's Health article written by Mallory Locklear captioned: 'This Heart Doctor Wants to Clear Up Confusion About HRT'.

A complete turn around!  And I agree with Dr Howard N Hodis 100%.

Thank you for bringing to our attention the outcome of the studies by Dr Howard N Hodis.  If only the women in the 'menopause' forum would read it.  They are so tied up in knots and misery because of the WHI.

I am one who cannot survive without oestrogen.  My body (and mind) falls apart when my oestrogen gets low for some reason.  My gp phoned with results of my oestrogen test today as I felt that it was getting low, and sure enough, I was not imagining it.  I have an oestrodion pellet made by a compound chemist implanted in a fatty bit of my abdomen, but they do not last as long as the original ones used to.  When they get low, I start supplementing with patches until I get another one implanted.

I am 65 and I do not intend stopping using oestrogen, but it has to be transdermal oestrodiol for me.  I have had drs attempt to insist that I stop and I tell them that the studies they are quoting have been proven fraudulent years ago.  There are so many myths still believed by the medical fraternity.

Thank you shery137154.   It is good to know there are a few of us who are together on this.

I do hope more people read that article.

I honestly think women on HRT are often more alert, more energetic and stay younger longer.

Hi ladies. nice to read your positives. started Fem7 three weeks ago. not really kicked in yet, hope it's not much longer as I've suffered for 6 years, tried the herbal route first. anyone else have trouble getting the patches to stay on?

Hi yes ! I am on

Femsept Evo and by the end of about 5 days they are peeling up at the edges. You have to press hard for 30 seconds at the beginning. I feel after about 5 days the effects are starting to wear off do you ? My Gyneo told me they are supposed to last 7 days but if I want to I can change them earlier, although the pharmacy won't like !

Have been on them almost 3 months and at the beginning I felt so great but have had an awful dip a week ago, feeling as bad as ever, is this normal ?

Now feeling better again.... Hope you are too.

When I had to move to patches because they stopped making the implants, a seven day patch not only would not stay on but it gave me a rash.  My dr moved me to 2 per week, but I also found that each patch would not last the 3.5 days in terms of effectiveness (my body sucks up that oestrogen), so I replaced it every 3 days, and topped up with a gel satchet on the 7th day.

I have now found a compound chemist who makes the implant pellets and have gone back to them.

hi, sorry it's been a while. Not seen any comments that were relevant to me till now. Just started 2nd month of Evorel 50 & Sequi.  The flushes are subsiding - at last. Luckily they have been my only Menopause symptom

so hope I can continue with these. Still rather lethargic compared to active I was a few years ago. Will note other meds you girls are taking & see how it goes. btw these are staying on fine. Thanks. Found out I can't

get these on repeat scrip, have to go to Doctor every month which is a nuisance as I work full time & trying to get appointments can be tricky.

Hi, thx for the message. Tried the Fem 7 for 4 weeks, no good now on Evorel 50 which changes to Sequi after 2 weeks. So far so good & it actually stays on! Told it can take up to 3 months to work so fingers crossed. Only side effect I had is slightly tender breasts but ok . Watch this space x
