Had my gallbladder removed almost 3 weeks ago. Extremely tired to where I can't get out of bed. I have lost 11 lbs through all this. Lost about 6 lbs a week before the emergency surgery. Went from 112 to 101. and still dropping. My surgeon on my post op appointment did not seem concerned about it. Guess if it isn't happening to you, no big deal. Now I have no appetite and have to choke down food and still not enough to get my energy up. I have been all over these message boards about this surgery and the healing and getting back to normal time frames for people are scary long. My weight can not support that time frame. Taking a shower is a chore. Have to lay down after for about an hour just to get the energy to get dressed. I'm not having any others of the issues too bad. Some nausea depending what I am able to eat, some gas discomforts, nothing too major. It just the not being able to eat enough to get my weight back up and energy levels. And my lab work from the ER was all wonky. RBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit were all low. Not sure why but I was told in the ER my labs were normal. I only found out about this from looking up my labs online. Went to my regular doctor for other reason on Thursday and let her know about my labs and she had more labs done to see where they were sitting at. Hopefully Monday I hear back from her and it's nothing too concerning. Needless to say my anxiety is up and worried now about that.

I had my gallbladder removed 3 months ago. I have never been this fatigued! Some days it takes everything you have just to do what needs to be done. I'm so glad I saw this site and read these comments, it makes you feel a little better that you are not the only one that has these symptoms.

Hi Wendy! I am 7 weeks post-op, and still resting most of the day. I thought I was suffering from longhaul covid, although I was fully vaxxed months ago, and isolating. I was in multi organ decline. It wasn't until a friend came over, and told me I was yellow. For a month previous to that day, I had been eating Jell-O and drinking water. I suffered daily from fatigue, high fever, chills, sweats, nausea, and vomiting. I was rushed to emergency, and had an ERCP one day, and the next day Lap Chole.

Since then I have been eating six times a day, usually one item like an apple, or a piece of chicken. I have completely changed my diet, and eat nothing fried, fatty, dairy, bread, pasta, red meat, or sweets. I, too, take 6 supplements to get my liver back in shape. And because of how severe my case was, it’s gonna take me longer to recover. It’s just very frustrating.

    Hang in there!
