Hi all,
I’ve posted already about my traumatic time. Basically agonising pain, hours in a & e. Admitted. Sent home first time after 2 days even tho I said something is wrong and I was throwing up bile. Agonising pain again Same procedure again only this time my bloods showed huge elevation in inflammation markers and I got CT scan showing acute cholecystitis, infection, necrotic areas on my gallbladder etc etc. It was too sick to remove so got gallbladder drain in. Bile leak causing the worst pain i’ve Ever had in my shoulder that I was screaming.
Anyways 3 weeks in hosi and 8 weeks with drain in I got to see a surgeon (not my surgeon) 2 weeks ago. She took the drain out and and I said I haven’t had my endoscopy yet! Need it as they found streptococcus bovis in my bile a marker for cancer. They should have booked me an urgent one but didn’t. So she says i’ll Get that arranged. So I need those results before I can get my operation to remove it.
So yesterday after all that I thought I was going to see my surgeon at last. Went into the appointment and it was a female doctor ( my doctor is a man) turns out she assists him. He was next door taking appointments. First words out of her mouth were so you’ve had your gallbladder out!! 😡😡😡
Eh no!!!! Still waiting!! Wtf!!! Oh sorry!! Frantically looks at screen!!
Next thing oh and it says you had your endoscopy as an inpatient on the 20th Dec but I can’t find the results!!
No I didn’t!!!! and I still haven’t had it yet and I need the results before my operation!! Really!! After everything i’ve been through!!
Oh I’ll order an urgent one today. That’s what the surgeon 2 weeks ago said.
I’m trusting these people to take an organ out!!!! Now on a waiting list and could be 12 weeks this goes on and on and on 😳😡😫😤
I’m in Scotland. This is the state of the UK NHS!!
Hoping when I finally get my appointment they take out my feckin gallbladder and I don’t wake up minus my liver or pancreas!!
Honestly my patience is wearing very thin!!
Sorry for the long rant! I really need it!!! Claire

Have you read all there is to know about ursodioxycholic acid tabs? How big are the gall stones? I should have been put on antibiotics to reduce my gall bladder which was swollen but did not get any then.
I passed some stones which were green etc by drinking lemon and olive oil but the doctors say that comes from old wives and quacks! A registrar told me -your gall bladder removal is the only thing to do and was quite shirty when I asked about URSO. She had never heard of it!
Beware of uneducated or rather inexperienced doctors who say they are experts as regards gall bladders.
I though these days medical science can see a great deal by MRi scanning but one asks oneself can the NHS afford it especially if you have passed as I the cut off date in your life?
PALS confirmed or thought that my general practice was strapped for money and that could well be the reason they would not refer me to second line ?specialists? In other words a patient has to be nigh on horizontal to attract urgent attention & even if you are horizontal ( in bed) that does not guarantee correct treatment........... Abysmal ain't it?

I saw my internist 3 days after I called for an appointment, waited 2days for U/S, but that was my fault because I had a meeting the next day so I went on the second day. Results were to the Doctor same day I had U/S,he called me,had called the surgeon, faxed over my report to surgeon and I called and saw him 3days and surgery in a week. I can’t imagine having to wait 12 weeks to have anything to be done. Also all my doctors have a website is unbelievably secure, password protected that download their office notes for each visit, test results and lab work results with in a day after visit so you can review them and question anything you might have misunderstood

I have spoken to three people who have had gall bladder problems and two of those a man and a woman told me they were very close to dying when eventually their gall bladders were removed.
This was a very close call for them but this makes one wonder how many die due to gall bladder complications?
The man told me his gall bladder was rotten and gave him a very long period of pain but nothing was resolved until he was rushed in as an emergency.
The lady told me her gall bladder was on the point of bursting when it was removed & she like him could have died easily but was cured by the emergency surgeons.
My niece was in agony when her gall bladder was removed and there again was on the point of bursting when it was removed.
I myself suffered years of stomach pain and discomfort that centerd on or rather inside my right lower ribs....... My gall bladder was swollen and I could feel it and a doctor confirmed yes it's your gall bladder & I cannot usually 'feel' any one's gall bladder.
This leads to the question among us cheeky blokes who had important difficult jobs in life re what do some doctors get paid for?

Trouble is there are so many of us suffering digestive issues and not enough resources. Nurses are leaving in droves and recruitment has greatly reduced mainly due to the removal of bursaries, so student nurses are having to take out loans. They aren’t like normal students having a couple of lectures a week and able to work some of the time because they have to do unpaid shifts on the wards as part of their training as well as attend lectures, which doesn’t leave much time for a part time job. Often surgeons are hanging round doing very little because they’re waiting for a bed. I’ve been through that as well. The NHS needs a massive injection of cash from the government, but as it stands, I can’t see it happening. I have to wonder where it will all end? As you say people are deteriorating and even at risk of death.

As sweet as you are. And you really are.
as well intentioned as you are ,and again ,you really are.
i continuously find myself asking myself, why you defend the nhs so much ?
i do not and cannot flippantly just brush aside the FACT that the nhs are literally killing people in this country !
Not just putting us all at risk but literally KILLING !
and I cannot and will not make excuses after excuses for their negligence after negligence,
no im sorry but the nhs is full of idiots who just don’t care because they simply do not have to anymore because death and malpractice in]s now the norm and becoming ever more acceptable within the government and the nhs.
it is is nothing short of government backed euthanasia.
and what’s going on within the largest institution in the UK 🇬🇧 all paid for by the gullible public of this this country is the single BIGGEST SCANDAL OF ALL TIME IN THE HISTORY OF GREAT BRITAIN!!!
and if we all do not kick up a massive fuss ,and close ranks on the nhs and the government, just like they to us !
then I’m afraid it will simply continue, and each and everyone of us are in effect going to be paying the nhs to simply kill us one by one nice and quietly,as their are right now !!
and that is utter stupidity on our part !!!!!
sorry their failings are endless , and ax long as people continue to support them and make excuses for their failings and neglect it will never end only we will !!
sorry folks but if they fail you and neglect you .
you all need to make the biggest fuss you can for as long as you can and as loudly as you can,and then and only then , maybe it will change .
with respect I post this as I know whole heartedly how well you mean, and you do and you are very very sweet x

Then there’s not the social care available for elderly people. This in turn blocks beds. So there’s normally surgeons who are trying to get operations done, but there’s not a bed for the patient post-op so they can’t start the surgery until there is. It’s a vicious circle!

Well that posting made my day Thanks for that =I had a bloody good laugh in some parts !!!!!!! I saw another post where a lady said == get a doctor who knows what he's bloody doing!
I told the last Urologist ( a very pleasant chap) that I could write a book about my waterworks problems but I told him I condensed the 'book' I hadn't written as yet into one sheet of paper so I presented that to him and he did read it quickly but those words of truth seemed to strike home because he asked =may I keep a copy of this..... Of course I said I have plenty more!
The fact was that I had taken to putting every mortal meeting, discussion and consultation down in writing and many an occasion wrote many a letter to our GP's practice.
What I found is that if 'they' make a mistake 'they' will never admit it. This is despite the 'candid' law since 2014.........never having any effect whatsoever only I think to strengthen 'the clubs'
impenetrable high tensile coating. There has never been a more close knit society ever who will deny the fact that they can make a mistake and will go to quite some length to protect their own should the occasion arise.......
This fact is well known now and if one fails to watch their backs in every respect the worst may transpire.
I have been pondering lately the validity of some doctors abilities in terms of is the bar held too low these days for these professionals to be let loose on the population?
This might be too harsh but I must add that I have been looked after quite a few doctors that really were very very experienced in what they did and were what I would call excellent doctors. It is a terrible situation to find yourself in when you know that you are ill but no doctor you consult can resolve the problem......
At first hand I would not have known my GP did not have a clue what to do with me and I would not have known but for a letter that came to light from her to the hospital when she asked= dear doctor please can you advise on this difficult case?
I found that deplorable but this did confirm for me that no doctor is infallible and too much trust in a certain doctor can be problematic........ However this did not stop her from rebuking me for obtaining antibiotics that incidentally eradicated my symptoms. This is called attack is better that submitting when wrong I believe!
Thereafter I will keep a very open mind on all matters medical but also make sure all spoken words are backed up 'in black and white'.

here here well put,
‘but look how the others continue to make excuses for the nhs failings !!
i find it unbelievable how the people of this country continue to pay to be let down and ok ,be nice and say put at risk then !!
While they pave that path of negligence for the nhs lol
i do not agree with Scottie. Sorry Scottie no offence meant , but simply do not wear them excuses.
no the nhs is very rich indeed as is our country.
more to the point is our nhs is being run by completely incompetent idiots and they will seemingly give a job to any old Tom dick or Garry from anywhere who has a fake bit of paper to present .
i just finished reading a story about a very healthy fit young Man who went into west Middlesex university hospital in islerworth ,West London. For a routine knee opp and sadly died because the African surgeon who was performing the operation on him managed to slice this chaps gallbladder!!!!!!!!!!!
well I’m astoundid !!! How that happens ! As to me the gallbladder is about as far away from the knee as Africa is from me lol.
then as I read on this surgeon it turns out has done a moonlight flip back to Africa , surprise surprise !
and the police have since discovered that he don’t have no surgical qualifications whatsoever and all his papers were fake lol.
you couldn’t make it it up could you ?
Could you ??
Well he did come to think of it !!!!
maybe Scottie with all respect this is , could make an excuse for the nhs on this one ?
or even better one for this beautiful young mans family!!
no sorry the nhs is a complete scandal end of subject, I’ve done my research and I say this about my nhs with real sanded and shame !!

The male housekeeper, who when I was on ITU following surgery, went and found me a couple of cold yogurts as I couldn’t swallow due to a sore throat. The nurse who offered me her arm to get me out of bed. Also a surgeon who did the same on another occasion. Another nurse who coaxed me to eat. Just countless little things that show they (or most of them) did care. I have a lot of issues with some of my care, and I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s all we’ve got. I complained in the correct way. I know my complaint was taken notice of because when I was readmitted, the issue I’d complained of was clearly resolved.

and you beautiful person !
i completely whole heartedly agree with you x
my issues are not with the nurses ,the surgeons the consultants etc no not at all .
its the whole infrastructure of the running’s of the nhs the fundamentals that’s where it’s all wrong ant that’s where the scandal is not the nurses or the people that offer you an arm to help you up or the guy who kindly got you a yogurt, but sadly them little jesters, nice as they are ! But they don’t save lives I’m afraid!!!
think about that for a moment ?????
with respect ✊

official compliment !
what for ?
what would I get out of a complaint ?
exactly nothing that’s what lol.
no I’m giving to the six month mark which is in 2 weeks exactly as that’s what I said I would do.
and then I intend to start a claim and sue the nhs .
thats not to say that I know I can by the way I don’t even know that I’ve got a case to sue and probably I have not got a leg to stand on, being how they all form ranks and lie like no others liers on earth from what I’ve learnt lol.
but I do intend to give it my best shot of at least finding out if I can and if I can then I will.
no a complaint will not suffice for me at all.
i wish you well x

I wish you well too but this is a topic on which we will have to agree to differ without animosity.
