I haven’t had a period in 6 years... but at the beginning I was going through a lot of these symptoms and I still sometimes get hot flashes (when I drink caffeine) and anxiety attacks  and racing heart and fathom pains but I’m beginning to notice that when I do aerobics and keep hydrated the weird symptoms disappear. When I don’t drink water and don’t exercise (and it must be aerobic to keep heart muscle strong) all the symptoms come back. I read that low estrogen levels dehydrate you. I go on line and do jane Fonda aerobics.. Try it I think this will help. I know what ur going through..God bless

Hi all. I had an appointment yesterday with my doctor but just feel bit confused, need someone to talk to! The doctor said that maybe it's just my body's natural reaction to my monthly cycles, I've never had these problems before but she says that now I'm in my 30's (33 in August) it could of altered my hormones causing all my problems, hot flushes, night sweats, headaches, being /feeling sick, bad cramps, aches in my wrists, knees, neck and back, indigestion /heartburn, bloating, tender breasts, forgetfulness, more emotional, irritability and sometimes longer heavy periods or light short periods, Red blotchy face, and a feeling that something is crawling on me. Just drives me mad yet this is apparently normal. So sorry for going on just don't have anyone who may understand how I'm feeling.

I am going through all those symptoms at 59. Trying different hormones. Every day is as almost unbearable

Oh and tiredness. Just can't see how all this can be normal. Get so fed up of feeling like this.

      Hello Tanya,

?I will be 32 in this summer as I said to another post and I live in a hormonal hell since 30's and PMDD since 26.

?Have you checked your hormones on day 3 of your cycle? And because you said that you have red blotchy face, have you done any tests for lupus or other autoimmune diseases?

I have the same symptoms with you, all are horrible but formication and crawling skin drives me crazy. Although lupus has excluded in my case but I am going to repeat a test soon

Hi no the doctor hasn't done any more tests, I just got told that it's a natural reaction to my cycle but I can't see how this is all natural.

Hi. Just a quick question, you said about had I checked my hormone level on day 3 of my cycle, is that something I have to get the doctor to check or is there a way I can check it myself with some home kit or something. My doctor isn't being that helpful really.

      Hello Tanya,

I know that the right phase to check your hormones is the 3 day of your menstrual cycle.

Though, many doctors deny to prescribe hormone blood test especially when you are still having periods because they think that the results are inconclusive,as the hormone levels fluctuate a lot during perimenopause.

I push my doctor to run hormone blood test which after 3 hormone blood tests within a year, the last one revealed that my hormonal levels are indicative of perimenopause?! Very high fsh, lh along with low levels of estradiol....

In my opinion and according to your symptoms, I would advise you to visit a rheumatogolist to rule out other autoimmune disorders with similar symptoms.

In my country, the most  classic way to evaluate hormone levels is blood tests which are ordered by the doctor...Otherwise, any woman has the opportunity to pay privately to a laboratory and check her hormones on her own initiative, but they are expensive without insurance cover.

Oh and I forgot to mention that if you are on the pill, the blood test will be inaccurate and falsely measured...

Are you still on the pill?

Maybe this is the cause of your pains as it lowers the estradiol levels.....

I do not know, I just make an assumption

What country are you from? I've tried asking for blood tests to be done for my hormone levels but was told that the test would only show if I had already gone through the menopause so would not be worth having. Do I have to ask my doctor to refer me to someone to check for autoimmune disorders? Because I'm not sure that she would, I'm just getting told it's natural. Yes I'm still on the pill, was changed recently to a lower and cleaner dose of progesterone. Just wish I had some help.

      Hi

I am from Australia. It seems that know one knows anything when it comes to menopause. I think I have got all of the symptoms listed for menopause. Worst one is feeling of fainting when I get my hot surge. I am now trying dhea hormone. Early days yet.

Yes I have alot of the symptoms of the menopause but the doctor just keeps saying that there's not much she can do, just keeps saying about changing my pill every 3 months. Told me that she can't rule out the menopause but doesn't seem like I'm getting Amy answers or any help. It's all driving me mad and people close to me don't seem to understand how I'm feeling, I just get told I'm young so should be fit and full of life yet I get so achy, tired and drained of energy. Fed up of it really. When did you start getting some help or is it something you have had to fight to get. Hope it works for you.

      Hello,

      I am from Greece

Are you taking anything else besides DHEA hormone?

How do you feel on it?

Same here, no one believes how ill I am..

only my mother understands and supports me that I am in a lot pain.. Definitely, I need medical treatment. It's been 2 years of daily nightmare...

?The truth is that early thirties is too premature for experiencing  menopause symptoms.crycry

      ?

Yes I've been told that it is to early to be suffering with the menopause. But that doesn't make me feel any better, it's a nightmare as you say. Do you think that it's not the menopause to blame?

      Hi

I am from Australia. Its helped a little. Everyday is unpredictable. Like this morning got up and already back pain like period but no periods for 8 years. I am 59. I get burning bladder. I don't drink much coffee anymore. Insomnia galore. Last nite awake all nite. Feeling so tired and when I get this hot surge I feel like fainting. I have got so many symptoms. Some say menopause never ends. That is so scary that I have to live like this for the rest of my life. Also bloated and hard to burp. Indigestion pain. I could go on.

      Hi,

Eleanor’s do you know why nobody knows anything when it comes to menopause ?  Is it maybe because it’s not a sexy subject ?   or maybe considered too boring ? I find this weired considering that 1/2 the population is female and most of them are likely to experience the pause.

But this is so weired.  There are so many female GPs.
