I think religion is ok to mention....it really helps some people. I'm a Christian so it doesn't offend me. Politics is something different- easy to get into fights and screaming matches. It's very personal and if I say I am pro Trump or anti Trump then all of a sudden we will all be off topic while various people beat me up verbally and none of us are focused on the real reason we are here (which is why I don't reveal my political position much as I'd like to)! 😊😆

I feel the same about politics.  Menopause is def more endurable with spirituality no matter what your higher power is.  I am Christian as well but I also realize that people have their own beliefs and I do not judge that.  Whatever can make this horrible transition easier is a win, win for everyone going through it but I’m not feeling like politics can in any way help menopause or the symptoms.  I mean I guess being stressed over current political events can make anxiety worse, hence maybe symptoms could get worse but for me, I’m so full of anxiety and stress over my daily bodily functions that I don’t have time to worry about who is sitting in the White House right now.  I just want my body and mind back to normal like yesterday.

Hi there, I totally relate to what you're saying. These symptoms are unbelievable. I never imagined such discomfort. I really don't want hrt and am trying to endure, one day at a time, but there are some days when the anxiety is so overwhelming.

Ya I know. I think I may go on anxiety med instead as I am afraid to mess with hormones- I think they just need to take their course and then hopefully they level out and/or we get used to them.  I hope you feel better.  Mine just started recently and it is so weird for me.

Forums like this have been my relief space for sometime now. Whilst it is sad to hear so many ladies feel utterly rotten, it can also provide some comfort that there are many people experiencing the same thing.

I am 48 and up to 2015 I can honestly say I had rarely felt ill apart from the odd cold, cough or rare stomach upset. At the beginning of 2015 I started becoming allergic to foods I had never had a problem with; my periods went mental (short, long, heavy, disappeared then came back); aches and pains like I had flu all the time; heart palpitations that were really scary and came on for no reason; feeling really tired yet unable to sleep well; foggy head and being a bit unbalanced; massive anxiety and depression which was also caused by me thinking I had something seriously wrong with me; plus a general lack of interest in anything and no motivation. This was completely opposite to the person I use to be. Being energised, getting out there, loving a busy full time job and being a Mom; to barely being able to do the school run before crawling back into bed. I did go to 3 doctors during this time and alot of tests were ran and all came back negative. But I also feel very frustrated and let down because I found my doctors were not very sympathetic, knowledgeable or seemingly interested in discussing perimenopause. On one occassion I am at the doctors crying because I felt so ill and he said I had to leave because he had other patients to see!!! Needless to say I didn't go back there again. Finally a diagnosis from a great doctor of Perimenopause was made. I still feel rubbish alot of the time but would always recommend other ladies to have tests to rule out other illnesses. I also find exercise to really help although its always really hard to get motivated to do any. I've also found a cleaner diet also reduces symptoms massively (reduce/no caffeine, no alcohol, no sugar, no gluten).

Please continue to share everyone as I find it a massive support.

Agreed... makes a big difference knowing that we're not alone.

For me the strangest thing was all the food allergies - I've lost so much weight because of it (and I wasn't overweight to begin with). My husband thinks they'll go away once this craziness is over - but who wants to take the chance to try?

Anyway... I also went to the emergency room because of all the horrible symptoms and everything came back normal.

Hope this will all end soon so we can all go back to feeling somewhat normal! LOVE to all of you going through this.

hi She63122 I'm having food allergies too. Was just curious what type of reactions are you getting? Many foods that i was able to eat I'm no longer able to eat now , for example eggs. I had no problem eating eggs a couple of months ago but now I can seem to eat it unless I get a reaction such as, heart palps, myalgia pain on back, stomavh bloats and tighten. It is do weird!!

I'm 38 yrs old. And i started having symptoms of peri since july 2018. I woke up one morning at 1am with a sharp chest pain that sent me to the ER and its been downhill since then.

Tingling hands, and feet, pressure in head, tight chest& neck, pressure in ears, heavy feeling in legs, palpitation, sticking pain in chest and collar bone area, various back pain and no period since March 2018.

I have seen neurologist and cardiologist , blood work, mri, ct scan, xrays, nerve conduction tests, all with normal results.

Im waiting for the results from my hormone testing and transvaginal ultrasound.

I have good days but mostly bad days.....i need something to fix this.

If you haven't done so already, try what Karen mentioned - dietary change (no gluten or dairy and minimal sugar). Could definitely be food sensitivity. An elimination diet could help.

Hope you start to feel better soon!!

Hi Keisha..sorry that you are having a rough time ..how does your back pain feel ? I haven't had a period since May and been having severe back tightening pain and bloating. The pain is not prone to a certain place ..just all over. I know how you feel...hang in there.

My back pain is sharp, lasts a couple of seconds and leave.

I did some hormone testing and waiting for my results. I also have a trans vaginal ultrasound scheduled too.

You are not alone. I feel exact the same on and off. Seeking some releif and getting counseling. The worst is my anxiety with occasional panic attacks... Trying meditation.. which seems to be helping ...
