its happened in the last year or so and the fatigue is horrible. i don"t get hot flashes but I have zero energy. I went from being a active person to barely functioning. It actually makes me wish i had something serious because death would be better then living with no energy to have any hope to do anything at all. I dont even recognize myself . I don't care about anything and find waking up a chore . If I have any less stress I might as well be dead. I feel I went from being vibrant at 48 to feeling about 75 years old at 51 . I can sleep but i never feel like I have any energy . My hair is falling out , I am frozen all the time. sometimes i get a headache and it last for 3 weeks . i never had headaches before. Sometimes i feel nausea . Sometimes parts of my body hurt so bad for no reason I feel like I was in an accident. doc says i am in menopause but not officially because i still get a period. next i will try bio identical as I cant stand this much longer. i want to feel like doing things again and at the moment death would be a relief . i really wonder how long this would last ...been 3 years unofficially since I felt like me and since there is never a whole day where i feel great .

No hot flashes! I think they would be a welcome relief instead of all this other awful stuff.

      Hi

II feel like u. I have been in menopause for 8yrs. I'm 59. Have started bioidentical 6 months ago and now they are not working. Progesterone always doesn't agree with me. It makes me more irritable. Lately I feel like dying. I have everything. Worse thing is feeling unwell nausea insomnia and no energy. Just cannot sleep. I feel like run over by a truck. Biomidenticals is all trial and error. I have seen a few doctors. My face has been itchy and burning sensation which I think could be bio identicals. Head also hurts and headaches. Don't know what to do any more

So happy to find this forum. Up until a week ago I thought I was convinced I might die in my sleep. Now I feel so much better. I am 55 and had excessively heavy periods due to fibroids a good part of my 40's. A couple of years ago they shaved off the fibroid causing the issue and since I have had only minor bleeding and then none for the past 9 months. I thought yay! Menopause! 3 months ago I started waking up in the middle of the night with right hip pain. I would roll over on my back and the tingling down my legs would start and a couple of times into arms. I would also be awake but feel like someone was flipping a switch turning my body on and off although I was conscious. (this was the scariest and is still happening). My stomach also feels like I have a blockage but I know that's not the case. My heart seems to be skipping beats every so often. Went to the doctor for the hip pain, he told me to exercise. I started walking but now my legs hurt so bad I can hardly stand it. I had read something about the vagus nerve a few years ago and am now convinced that this might be the root cause of all that is going on. The worst is to see that y'all have been going through this for years. Thank goodness to find you though. At least I have some piece of mind now. Oh and my periods have started again. I've had two through all this. So I guess really I'm still in peri at 55.

yes the whole mess is definitely un nerving and it helps to know that others experience or have experienced the same horrible symptoms. It is so scary at times and we get sick if feeling so horrible to the point if driving us to depression and anxiety. its just one day at a time for me and realizing that my hormones are just going to do what they want. hang in there.

Yes, I can tell you that I often feel like I am slowly dying, failing to thrive and blood tests come back normal. So upsetting. In menopause for one year. What helps is eating better, not overeating, progesterone and estrogen creams (more progesterone than estrogen), Holy Basil or Ashwaghanda adaptogen herbs, Magnesium helps heart and calms the system "Theanine Serene by Source Naturals or Gaba Calm are very good. But I am also B12 anemic and have to take supplements and a very good powdered vitamin with amino acids. It has helped a lot, not completely gone, but so much better.

Thanks! will try some of these. I've decided to tackle this head on. Taking a B-complex, Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc Complex, Ginger Root, Turmeric and have increased my activity level and improved my diet. Also have taken a little iron. Something seems to be working. Have actually had a few fairly good nights of sleep except for the episodes of waking up to the off/on sensation. Wondering if this is my "hot flash".What vitamin do you take?

Some of the worst episodes were at night and I would wake up and just feel doom and suffocation (panic) for a few minutes and then a hot flash would follow. So, yes whatever hormones are not functioning well seem to trigger the hot flashes at night. And evening is worse, especially after dinner, after 4:00 pm for me. I had no idea hormones or lack of, could make you feel so ill. I am taking " All One" powdered vitamins mixed with rice milk. My naturopath had me get "PhytoB-L 4x". I also like Emerita brand of phytoestrogen and progesterone (wild yam) creams. The PhytoB is a combo but I need more of the progesterone so I add a little of wild yam. A very small amount works for me. I think you have to experiment a bit to get the right combination and I believe it's key along with the vitamins. Magnesium is great. Read up on the types of magnesium because there are cheap types and some that are better absorbed into the body. Most people are low on several vitamins. Also, I found out about adaptogen herbs and they help balance the endocrine system. It's terrible to feel this way and I hope you find relief.
