Hi. No you are not alone. I just discovered I am going through menopause and have many of the same symptoms you are experiencing. Sleep is the worst for me. I wake up nauseated and anxiety kicks in so then I stay up. Stay strong and big hugs. You willget through it!

all these symptoms are so debilitating. as i type this I'm sitting down yet feel dizzy definitely stay away from google because it always tells us the worst diagnosis. I have constant ringing in my ears, have had this since my early 20's yet has gotten much worse over the last couple of months. I know stress makes all this worse but how do we not stress when we feel so rotten. I often come to this forum to give me some comfort in knowing I am not alone in this journey.

It's a relief to see so many other women going through the same issue, but I am so sorry that anyone else is feeling this poorly. I have seriously been questioning if I might suddenly be going mad! I just turned 47 and these past several months have been awful. I went off my BC pill when I turned 40 because I felt it was time. I was ok since then until the beginning of this year. My periods started to become very irregular. I had one period in May that lasted 30 days! My gynie ordered a transvag ultrasound and everything was normal. I considered going back on BC but wanted to avoid going back to hormones. I started experiencing stomach/intestinal issues this fall and had a endoscopy which just showed mild inflammation in my stomach so they just put me on pepcid. Since then my symptoms have grown to the point where I am struggling to function normally and its so discouraging:( I have shakiness, bad nausea, loss of appetite from the nausea, muscle aches, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue. I had tons of bloodwork, ekg, echocardiogram, etc..all normal. It really only leaves perimenopause and just seems so crazy it can make you feel this terrible. I am finally going to see a highly recommended functional medicine specialist next week on Thursday and hope she can offer me relief. I know she has used progesterone cream with others to help balance out their hormones. I just keep telling myself to keep searching and praying and it will get better. Trying to stay positive to keep from going crazy!

you are not going crazy its peri. I had all the same tests as you and I'm on/off on antiacids when I need them.

Feel so rubbish and just want to have my old self. I hate my 40s:(

    You are not alone!!!

    It is so scary ..

All these strange symptoms, the overwhelming feeling that your control panel is out of order and no much medical response or clear information make this "change" a nightmare.

I became obsessed with health and i panic with every little new discomfort.

We don't know what to expect and is nerve breaking and unfair.

    Hi lovely ladies,

I keep seeing people posting on peri forums saying they have digestive issues but without specifying too much.

I have been having really odd bowel issues for the past 2-3 years (so maybe coinciding with peri). Every time my body is preparing for a bowel movement I start to feel really strange, like a hollow feeling, I begin to shake, sweat, have tachy and shortness of breath, I basically feel really bad, when I have been I still feel bad foe about half an hour approx and after that it settles.

Does anyone else get anything similar?

Before a bm, I always start to feel ill and weak During, I sweat and my legs shake. Many days, I am running to the bathroom multiple times. On those days, i can barely function- feels like my whole body shuts down. I'm having that kind of day today. Was going to buy groceries and finish up Christmas shopping, but am now in bed.

So sorry that you are going through the same as it is truly horrible, but glad to find someone who understands, any ideas of why this might happen?

I have been feeling this way off and on for about a year now. I have had several test and everything is coming back normal. I am 43 and still having fairly regular periods so my doctor keeps telling me that I'm too young. My husband thinks I'm crazy because of my constant fear that I am dying and checking symptoms on Google.

I have especially noticed the last 2 months that symptoms start about a week before my period and continue until a few days after. I have constant digestive/trapped gas issues, I'm exhausted but can't sleep (having 2 young children 5&7 doesn't help). I've started having moments where I can feel my heart racing and beat out of my chest, pressure in my head and then waves of what feels like dizziness or a rush that comes from my toes and works its way up my body causing me to feel like I'm going to fall over and then I'm warmer and nauseated after. My mom is convinced it's menopause as my grandmother was finished by 50 years old. My mom had a hysterectomy so didn't go through menopause naturally. It's hard not knowing what is going on but reading some of these comments is comforting that it may just be hormones and I'm not actually going to drop dead.

hi yes its peri! I'm 43 have had since 41. Stomach issues, acid reflux, bloating etc finally had an endoscopy and all clear. This is a peri symtom. I take aloe vera juice and an antiacids twice a month if needed.

I watch what I eat too. Keep a food diary and do not stress as its a big trigger.
