I have a swollen and very painful lump on my clit hood, what should I do?

Hi, I've been having a problem for about five days to a week now. I didn't notice in the beginning as I didn't feel or see anything unusual but now I'm in a alot of pain. On the top of clit hood I have a swollen, reddish lump that's gotten bigger during the day yesterday and has been swelling probably everyday. I don't know what it is as I've never had it before, I'm 19 and a virgin so I know it's not an STD/STI. Also, along the left labia I noticed it's really swollen also but it doesn't hurt until it reaches the clit hood. The hood is swollen so badly that I can't see my clit without really stretching, which hurts. My left is primarily the issue side and as of this moment it burns. I can't walk, sit , sleep or move at all without going through a moment of pain first and I can only sleep on my back. PLEASE HELP!!!!

My advice is contact your doctor, you need antibiotics, it will keep returning otherwise.

      hi bless you

mine has always taken around the week mark but my last was the longest and took 2 weeks x yes antibiotics as soon as it starts but of this is your first time you kind of need to know what your up against first x as a doctor would need to see you (while it's at its worse) and j think you will struggle to be seen at the moment x wait and see and have plenty sits baths and don't mess with it x if it is what we have the pain will only get worse before it drains itself x keep us posted and good luck x

      What dates on them

if it's hurting this much I believe it's almost over

if was me I'd start antibiotic as soon as you know it's started and not towards the end

sit in the shower as often as you can with warm water on it (obviously not the high jet) keep it clean and in this weather try and wear a nightie or long dress and no knickers to stop the rubbing

I hear you and feel your pain

have you noticed a small white area on it yet, as this is where it will drain from

the scar tissue (where it's got infected) will start to show in this way and as it stretches so much with the swelling it will pop on its own but I've always found warm water softens it and makes it happen quicker x

this is a trauma and will take time to heal so try no sexual activity until you feel it's completely back to normal else it's back to square one x

      I know this sucks x

you are so helpful with everything youve said and im so grateful. unfortunately no it has not yet formed a white spot but while i was waiting for your reply, i put a cold wet face washer on it and it had relived a fair bit of swelling. ive also decided to try the antibiotics until i can get into the doctor as soon as i can

Hey! what ended up happening? did you go see a doctor? i am experiencing the same and it is itchy. Not sure if it is an ingrown hair or pimple

I have been prescribed Flucloxacillin 500mg which contains penicillin, as the 'lump /cyst is a bacterial infection these are taken 4 times a day. I have also been given Betnovate RD cream, which is applied once a day, this is a deluted steroid cream.

This is the 3rd time I have had one of these cysts, with me, they are stressed related. The 1st one I had was 2 years ago, initially I was just given cream, but the cyst returned, so antibiotics. Due to the lockdown, and just doctor consultation over the phone, I was able to request the cream and tablets

I'm having this happen now. I also have a bump on my vaginal lip that hurts really bad. I think I nicked myself while shaving. how long does it take to heal?

One week or even two. Don't use soap to wash, salted water is ideal with lukewarm water.

hey guys I've now had this thing for over three weeks and I'm panicking I've been prescribed a hydrocortisone ointment and it helped bring down the inflammation but now its just an almost flat bump and its darker in colour compared to the rest of my skin. Is that normal? attaching a pic so you get what I meanimage

I'm just really scared that it might be something more now or could it possibly just be that the ointment has caused it to calm down and now it just needs to drain? Although looking at it doesn't look as though its the draining type

Yes, I was noticing that it's flatter than the others I've seen. has it gotten any better since you posted this?

it had gone completely flat but then another bump cropped up today after a session if you know what I mean and I think the infection is just there underlying and that I might have a bacterial infection that needs to be treated with antibiotics
