I have a swollen and very painful lump on my clit hood, what should I do?

Hi, I've been having a problem for about five days to a week now. I didn't notice in the beginning as I didn't feel or see anything unusual but now I'm in a alot of pain. On the top of clit hood I have a swollen, reddish lump that's gotten bigger during the day yesterday and has been swelling probably everyday. I don't know what it is as I've never had it before, I'm 19 and a virgin so I know it's not an STD/STI. Also, along the left labia I noticed it's really swollen also but it doesn't hurt until it reaches the clit hood. The hood is swollen so badly that I can't see my clit without really stretching, which hurts. My left is primarily the issue side and as of this moment it burns. I can't walk, sit , sleep or move at all without going through a moment of pain first and I can only sleep on my back. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I had the same happen to me last year. Started out itching and then the pimple like lump slowly forming and going from itching to sore as it got bigger. My GP said it could have been because I went swimming in a river so maybe an infection from the dirty water. Gave me some antibac ointment but nothing really helped until it popped by itself after 4 days or so. I just got one again yesterday. Still pretty small for now, but k ow I know what is to come. I did put some tea tree oil on it because it's known for being an natural antibacterial agent. Just wonder why this time because there was no swimming. Also had a clean pap smear from the gyne just 2 months ago. Are some girls just more prone to this I wonder.

I have come to the conclusion that mine is anxiety related, when I am stressed out the mild itching feeling begins, then the nagging ache, then the lump appears. My mum has just passed away, and the familiar feeling has begun.

Is this a bump most is experiencing right below the clitoris hood meeting up with the labia? Does that make sense? Mine seems to be swollen on the right side and its noticeably swollen but right where the folds start. Its painful when I sit or wipe. sound similar?

hey im just writing as ive went through this while pregnant and i was unable to walk for 5/7 days due to it. i then ended up in hospital as it turned out to be a bartholins abcess which is easily treated with antibiotics but without them i was told it could go sepsis so girls just be careful i found getting hot baths was my only sort of relief from the pain until i was seen by hospital

Something very similar happened to me last year. Look up "periclitoral abscess".
It's a gynaecological rarity.
I saw 2 doctors who did not know what it was, gave me antibiotics and pain meds that did not help. I eventually received intravenous pain meds at the hospital when I couldn't deal with the pain and that helped. Once I was referred to a gynaecologist they correctly diagnosed it.
They say some require an incision with local anesthetic to help drain. I did herbal steams and hot herbal baths and eventually it drained on its own. Best wishes!

Hey girls, i noticed a pea sized lump under my hood, beside my clit a few weeks back. Not necessarily painful, i don't notice it through out day to day thing. i phoned my GP and she prescribed me antibiotic cream without looking at it and said if it doesn't go within a week call back. so its been there around 3 weeks now, cream hasn't seemed to help. i work ling hours most days so haven't had the time for a Drs appointment but will call her and let her know my situation and request for her to see it. its very unsettling but after reading through everyone elses comments i feel calmer, hoping its just a cyst and will go on its own!

Hello girls, glad to find this thread and thought I'd share my experience as well. Currently having this for the second time, a pea sized lump on the left side not far from the clit. Last time I think it came from going to town a bit too much with my Womanizer. I actually thought for a moment that my whole clit had moved when I first noticed this, hahaha. I believe the reason for it this time around is because I've bought a new pair of jeans that haven't stretched yet so they're just too tight. Looking great but just too much for me poor vagina. Pretty sore right now, but optimistic it will heal by itself like last time as long as i make sure to leave it alone as to not irritate anything. I get most stressed out by how hard it feels.
My rule of thumb for any kind of lumps in the vaginal area is leave it to itself as much as possible other than gentle rinsing in warm water, and if it hasn't gone away by itself in three weeks always see a doctor as it could be something more serious. Last time i tried to massage it veeeeeeery gently, no squeezing, after some days when it started to feel a bit softer to maybe help it drain. I never experienced it popping, it just eventually went away luckily.

Hey, Ive been dealing with the repercussions of this fiasco for 2 months now. It started off as a large cystic abscess, popped; the exit wound was beginning to heal. After a month the exit wound became infected. GYNO said it was herpes, came back negative. Used clyndamycin gel for 10 days and the wound still hasn't closed up (although thank god its not infected anymore) . I don't know what to do I am so frusturated how did you guys heal the exit wound from where it popped? I haven't been able to have sex for two months, I just want this to end.

this may be late but mine is almost healed up and I've been using bag balm its really good I always use it when I have a wound and bag balm makes it heal very fast and puts a barrier so bacteria can't get inside I'm so sorry that happened to you I hope this helps
