I have been lightheaded and ears ringing for one year now

I started having symptoms a year ago. I was driving and all of a sudden I thought I was having a stroke. My vision went blurry, my ears started ringing and I got so dizzy I had to pull off the road. To this day, it has not gone away and has gotten worse. I have pressure in my ears, like they are full and they both ring constantly. My vision has changed in my left eye and it's blurry and I have double vision in that eye. It is so bad that it causes me a lot of anxiety. I have made an emergency trip to the hospital because I thought I was dieing. I have had MRI, CT, ENT, ENG, VNG tests done. I have seen 18 doctors and the only thing they can tell me is that I have lost my balance sensation in one ear that is causing my dizziness and unstableness. My legs are weak and shake and I would not dare stand on a ladder right now. I have been thru Vestibular Therapy exercises and they did not help. I am miserable and it has affected my daily function in life and is causing me to lose time at my job. My family is feeling the replicutions of my sickness too. I just want to feel NORMAL again. My brain is not working right and I have the sensation of falling all the time in my head. It is such a weird feeling and I can't fall asleep unless I take a sleeping pill and even now, I am waking up like I am falling. The ENT doctor has not made a diagnosis but I am taking some medicine to try to dry up fluid in my ears. Its hard to walk in a busy store without feeling dizzy or unstable and my vision is so off I can't see. I have had thoughts of not wanting to live like this anymore, that is how awful this disease or whatever this is I have is. Does anyone else have these symptoms or a diagnosis or maybe some ideas on how I can control it?
Thank you

I undrestand how hard it is to not let it take over as sometimes it is very scary. I have alos wondered if it is hormone related as it gets worse for me in the run up to my monthly period and the week after too. Betahistine help to balance out the inbalance in your ears, they do not cure it but I stopped taking them for about a month and it got worse so I went back on them

Its not even a desease it is actually a symptom of something wrong with your body, or ears.

You poted this a while ago. If you still check in here please update me on your condition. 8 months ago I was driving and all of a sudden I became very dizzy and disconected (inside head dizzy..not external spinning) I have had many tests including CAT scan, MRI and the host of typical others but no results. I continue to feel like I am hungover all day..all night, ringing ears, pressure in my skull and with headaches sometimes. Just seeking out some form of help.
Thanks

Hey everyone I may have the answer.
I have searched and searched and searched for months now about this too. I feel like I may have found an answer. I saw that many people had several MRI's CT Scans and appointments on appointments...to no avail.
Check out Occipital Neuralgia + Suboccipital muscle pain. The latter has been described as producing a "ghost pain" that can be felt deep in the head and is hard to pinpoint a direct location of it- thus the worry of tumors etc. You would be very surprised that this also can produce daily headaches, and a bit of dissociation that can also lead to anxiety just because you don't really know what the hell is going on. Everything in the head works so closely together, if one point is off it throws off the whole system. Doctors are full of s**t sometimes- we must accept that they are never sage council. Occipital neuralgia may require a bit more medical attention but is not urgent or dire in any way so dont fret. It is basically caused by incorrect head postures, car accidents, incorrect sleeping and is a pinched or tweaked nerve in and around your cervical spine. Check out these things and dont lose hope!
Doctor yourself! Dont be afraid to research, but research respoinsibly! Dont just accept the first thing that comes up, sites like WebMD are notorious for outlandish diagnoses and can instill fear and anxiety. There are so many thin thin thin muscles and so many nerves in your suboccipital region that cause all of these symptoms. There is hope my friends! Let me know if you found this useful.
Take care of yourselves, smile and breath deeply, look up stretches and trigger points for suboccipital zones around your head. Try these out, trust the process, dont self sabotage and help yourself!
Much love I hope this helps!
Thank you.

I also have what was diagnosed as vestibular or basilar migraine causing dizziness, constant ringing in left ear, left migraine and facial pressure. Migraine preventative meds helped, but when it worsened last spring, I was sent to physical therapy for my jaw and neck. It helped me tremendously! My jaw was misaligned. I have the habit of holding my lower jaw to the left, which is bad. I was so surprised that my jaw and neck could cause tinnitus and dizziness/imbalance. The therapist said that all those cranial nerves going through that area get mixed up. My neurologist also said that tmj/myofascial issues cab totally mimic basilar or vestibular migraine.

Hello All, 50 yo male here. Phil
It is refreshing, and saddening, to have found this thread. I apprecaite all your insight and suggestions in working through this. I am on week 9 of what you all have descibed, almost to a T, to what I have going on! It kind hit me all of a sudden after Labor Day this year. Mine started suddenly one night going to bed, though I was spinning out of control. Almost went to the ER. Then, the chronic dizinees set in, head buzzing, rining the ears and so on. ALL the tests prove negative, my GP thinks my blood pressure meds may be cauing it, no answers!! But I know it's there, almost always! I do have days when I almost fel normal, almost. But even as I sit here now ... the rininging, dizziness, exhausted from lack of sleep, you name it!
May I ask, do many of you have issues sleeping, or after falling alseep, waking up from dizziness, or "head buzzing" (for lack of a better term) ... I am able to get back to sleep after some time, but just feel wasted the next day.
Thank you for all your posts and encouragement ...
Signed FRUSTRATED!!

Go get checked for LYME DISEASE! Go to this website of my friend who was misdiagnosed and found out - after seeing a lot of doctors - that she had LYME. It presents in a lot of different ways, so you can't rely on a few symptoms to tell you you have it, or don't have it. I had it a few years ago but caught it early, thankfully. In her video, she tells you EXACTLY what to ask for when getting blood work done.
