Hi Louie,  I wanted to check in. This post was from two years ago so i’m hoping you’ve found relief from these symptoms. I’m also curious because this description pretty much nails my same symptoms. It sucks and makes life hard to deal with at times. I so much want to feel normal again. I’m 42 but feel like 82.

I am relating to all the symptoms you've described.. chest pains splitting Headache, dizziness and even sinus. I've had this GERD for more than 6months now and the doctors say it really takes time for symptoms to wane. I am 30 and have stopped working for 6 months now and yes it's not easy. The anxiety of not being able to do things like normal people are eating me and it sometimes seems that people around us can't understand what we're going through and are overreacting. So it is some assurance that all of us can relate. I also have checkups with my neuro for the headaches because I was so scared with what im feeling. I've had a number of doctors too cardio, neuro , ENT and gastro that I have consulted. They tell me that we should always remember that no one really dies of GERD and since there are a myraid of things that we feel it all contributes to anxiety. Some things I do to relax is to read a book, pray often do yoga and take things slowly. I hope we all recover soon and get over this sickness soon.

      Hi Nia!

I have all the same symptoms as you and louie. I'm only 3 months into this. However, i have seen improvement from the 5 R's program to get off PPI's. Look it up on Google. A lot of steps, but worth it. Im not cured yet, but i hope to be back to normal someday. At least close to it. Good luck and keep in touch please.

Happy to hear there is improvement on your part. I'd say there is improvement in mine too but of course the same symptoms come and go sometimes but not as constant as before. Thanks for the suggestion too Jackie I haven't heard of the program and will look it up. Anyway I have much as time in my hands as I am not working anymore. I hope you will be able to feel well and normal soon as all of us are striving to be. Good to know that we are not alone in this and it is some comfort that we are reassured with the fact that there are many people out there that understands us.

These same symptoms have literally changed my life. I had to quit my job but ended up starting my own company from home which has been the only good thing about getting GERD or whatever they want to tell me I have. I have been suffering for 9 months and have had mad anxiety from it. I almost fainted at the wheel when the symptoms first showed up because I thought I was dying and in turn went into a full blown panic attack. Took me forever to believe the doctors that I only had gerd because it felt so life threatening. I haven’t died and the symptoms come and go which seems like it would be constant if it was life threatening. My biggest qualm is I feel the need to take deep breaths and I can’t. This annoys me the most along with tension headaches which I have researched and they are from the stress. There are a lot of studies showing the relationship with gerd and anxiety. The stomach is a weird thing

Try doing Yoga DgKong I have installed this app: Daily yoga and they have breathing exercises. To be fair, there are a lot exercise sessions that are free and the intermediate and advanced sessions are the ones with fee. There is also meditation music to help you relax. My aunt who was diagnosed with depression was advised by the doctors to practice deep breathing to combat anxiety. Hang on there and make sure that you watch your diet and do not consume acid forming foods. A lot of probiotics helps too.

I have been dealing with this same type of stuff for the past 3 years. I have had to finish my college degree online while running an online business to make money. I recently found out that it is all from gerd. I had several blood test done on me, stool samples, a colonoscopy, even a CT scan and everything looked good. At the end of the day, it looks like it's a mix of gerd and anxiety. Lately, I have been propping my head up when I sleep and that's been helping a lot. I recommend getting a pillow wedge from amazon.

I developed tension headaches, dizziness, and pins and needles in my head and right arm. All of this started after being diagnosed with ulcers caused by h pylori. The diagnosis took forever to get. I had burping and upset stomach, triggered by a stressful life situation. Then, it turned into burning under my right ribcage. I have been trying natural treatments. The head/neck pain dizziness was quite possibly triggered either by this bacteria, or the stress. I think some people are much more sensitive to h pylori infection and some people never even have stomach symptoms. You dont have to have an endoscopy for a diagnosis. Stool culture or breath test are best. I had to beg my doctor to test for it, positive! Starting to feel better on mastic gum and manuka honey, and 600 mg NAC. Triple antibiotic therapy has 70-80% cure rate. Anxiety became overwhelming after all of this started. If you have tried other things, then this might be worth a shot.

      Hi Melissa,

I'm a bit new here. Was just reading your post and felt like our symptoms are so close. I also developed these symptoms out of a stressful situation last year and to date I've not had relief. I also feel it has something to do with my stomach as I've had terrible acid issues where my Dr diagnosed me with IBS and gerd. They just chalk it to anxiety and its frustrating. I also am unable to get a good night's rest. I was wondering how long have you been dealing with this and with the diagnosis and treatment, if you're healing has been complete. Will try to convince my Dr to test me for this.
