Hi Tasha, I don't understand what the thumping noise can be. My left er is extremely blocked today,
and I also think possibly is perforated again. I don't get any nosises from my ear, only tinitus that I've suffered for years. There's no one on this forum that can give you any advise and as you're unable to afford to see a doctor, there is little anyone can say to help you. You need professional help and the correct medication. Having said that, I get the best advise and am on the correct meication too, but it's not working. I will have to see my consultant again for him to use microsuction on my ear to suck all the mucus that's suck at the other side of the eardrum. Try and explain better the noise you can hear. Is it bother ears or just the one? Maybe, if they are both blocked, in fact you maybe hearing your heart beating. The mor anxious you become the worse it will get. Have you tried inhaling hot water from a bowl with a towel over your head. You hve to continue with this for at least twenty minutes. It's like steaming open en envelope, it tkes time !!

Don't talk silly Tasha, you really need to see a professional doctor dealing with ENT.
We'e all got time for each other on this forum, but there is only so much a lay person
can advise you what to do. Hearing a thunder sound certainly is weird, could be that
the mucus is moving around near your eardrum. Please try and get to see your doctor
and definitely ask for the Prednisolone that I mayself had in April and I had three months
relief from bloody blocked ears !! Sadly, today, as I've said left one blocked again.
It's dreadful living in a country that if you can't afford to pay, or you have no insurace, must
be terrible. Over here in England we are looked after so well. However, despite that Ive
suffered Eustachian Dysfunction for years and years and without much success for any
medication that has worked permanently. Do you blow mucus a lot whether you may
have a cold or not. I do, but rarely catch colds. So I imagine this is what they call allergic
Rhinitis. Hav you tried to pop your eyes, or are they so blocked the mucus won't budge ?
I feel for you, honestly I do. But you now need medicl intervention. You're not saying whether
you've tried hot water inhalation.

Why is your mom going to the doctor to get citrizine? It's over the counter at just about any store for $10 to $15. If the citrizine doesn't work you can try xyzal, claritin and allegra. Nasal sprays are usually recommended for ETD. Flonase is what my ENT recomends with Azelastine (prescription).

How in the world did you take my reply as being rude or disrespectful? You have repeatedly said you didn't have money for a doctor and when you said your mom was going to doctor to get citrizine I thought you didn't know it was OTC. The OTC citrizine and the prescription are the exact same thing. Xyzal, Allegra and Claritin aren't high end and neither is flonase. Xyzal is a form of Zyrtec and some do better with it. All are available without a prescription for the same medication.

Hello Tasha, we are all reading your comments but as you're unable to afford to see a doctor to get the correct medication there is little anyone on this forum can suggest. I had relief for 3 months having taken Prednisolone. Once out of my system ear problem returned. Bloked and very crackly. You sound as though you have such a lot of mucus in your eustachian tubes, which needs to be dried up, which requires medication. My left ear was so bad I ask for my October appointment to be brought forward and went today. Ask about Balloon dialation, or tubes, both of which he said they couldn't do as i suffer a chronic ETD and it would come back. At present using Flixonas Nasules and they seem to be helping a lot....ear now un-blocked.

I gotta try something. But I gotten tired of wasting money..the specialist I want I cant have.I got emergency bills to pay and my mom backed out on helping with the bills so my expenses are tightly shut. Now my eyes are going and I'm basically screwed and cant do anything now about it.So I'm popping vitamins and chopping carrots to the point of puking just to help myself.I lead a downward spiral into death.

this rare condition

No Tasha it isn't a rare condition. What you are hearing is mucus in your eustachian tubes....when ears are really clogged this is what we hear. I've no idea how you're putting up with this for so long. You must be careful that the mucus sitting in your tubes doesn't turn bacterial, like it did in mine, which then turned to bacterial meningitis. If you end up with earache, again, like I did, that means infection is present and you MUST get yourself put on broad spetrum antibiotic You are not telling us whether your ear/ears are completely blocked, as when this happens the pressure behind the eardrum usually would perforate it, allowing the mucus to drain away. Sometimes the mucus is so thick and sticky (like chewing gum) it can't drain, therefore an ENT specalist would have to use microsuction to clear it all out. When you mext write your message, try and give more details apart from the thumping down you're hearing.
Regards
Anne

Hello again, you haven't really explained what's stuffy, your ears or nose or both. Are you suffering Eustachian Tube dyfunction ? If you have problems with your ears, that can cause being unsteady.

Hello Tasha, I know you do not have money but if it were me I would go to the doctor and demand they put tubes in your ear the same day as your appoinment. Tell them your situation, tell them you cannot be going back every little while (trust me they will have you if you let them because it is more money in their pocket). Some doctors do not understand what's it's like to have a tight income. Remind the doctor that your problem has not resolved and remind them how long it has been. The throbbing has gotten worse and tell them you are scared of losing your hearing.
