Is this Balanitis? I'm 21, had it most of my whole life, no treatment has worked

Hello, I've seen a doctor many times about a mild condition I have on my penis glans, have been prescribed 3 different creams including Betnovate and a Hydrocortisone, a course of antibiotics and a swab which said I was clear and still the condition remains. I used to have a tight foreskin up until last year which is now sorted from stretching, and I think the condition began during my teenage years when I wasn't able to wash the glans. It often feels dry and can sometmes feel slightly painful when the foreskin retracts, almost like its rubbing and the sensitivity everywhere is quite high still, not sure if this is due to the condition. The urethra opening is always red and inflamed and red areas appear frequently around the glans itself. Any advise on what I should do would be much appreciated, have attached a photo too. Many thanks!

Hello everyone. I just want to add my 2 cents. So I am experiencing an inflamed meatus, glans of the penis very rough/dry texture, and decreased erection strength and blood flow to the glans of the penis. I believe the cause of my affliction was trauma to the head of the penis from using excessive force during masturbation. Anyways, I have seen some improvement over time but comparatively to before it's night and day. I am restricting my calories and exercising everyday in order to lose weight. Maybe that can help relieve symptoms. I hope all of us find a resolution to this problem. But in summary, I believe we all had some sort of trauma done to the penis and the best medicine is time. Keep it well hydrated and try not to masturbate. Time can heal us.

guys i suggest to get your semen culture done, you may have bacteria infection there. i also experienced same symptoms and my urologist suggest me to have that test.

Would this point towards Prostatitis? Its where I'm leaning at the moment

Im awaiting a test kit for a semen and urine culture from America, this is my last hope to find a bacterial infection.

all my symptoms point towards this its just the testing isnt as good in the United Kingdom where im from.

its one of the things you have to figure out if you do have prostatitis, wether or not its bacterial or caused by the pelvic floor. most cases of prostatitis is misdiagnosed and is actually the pevic floor muscles, but thats why you gotta check.

i noticed a lot of people on here talking about HPV. I have had the HPV vaccine (gardisel 9) my symptoms started about 2 months after the first injection). But I also had several other vaccinations within a 6 month window.

You can be tested for HPV privately in the UK. There are several different private practises in major cities which will do it.

i have been suffering with this for 18 months now. my symptoms have improved recently and seem to be slowly getting better.

I had a seaman culture and a gen2 test for bacteria and non was found.

i am trying CBD cream and CBD oil at the moment and that does seem to be making a difference. i will report back if it does cure me.

Pistonhead is correct, I've discovered there now private clinics testing males. In the North East there is one in Leeds and York, but there many others dotted around the country. I managed to IM one of the clinic admins today, apparently the doctor will need to assess skin prior - it may be that don't offer the swab test, but I'd think for most showing systems they likelihood is they will.

It would be worth all of us posting here taking an HPV test - it might finally answer questions.

ive had HPV like 10 years and the symptoms i have started a year ago so highly doubt its anything to do with it.

i am not sure what you questions is but i have never heard of Benzathine penicillin before so i think the answer is no.

No I don't. my urine seems normal. The only thing the urologist mentioned about it was he saw lots of micro kidney stones coming from my kidneys into my bladder. But he said that would not cause the symptoms I am having.

i have burning when I urinate. Pain at the end of my urethra (this aches a lot). Tip of my penis is red and feels tender, its not smooth a seems rough, symptoms worsen if I masterbate or have sex regularly. when it worsens the pain goes all the way down my urethra into my prostate.

i have seen countless doctors and urologists and have had just about every test you can think of. I have got private healthcare so have had everything imaginable done including CT and MRI scans.

i have tried lots of different antibiotics too.

I have been vaccinated against HPV so there is no point in having an HPV test.

I am trying a low dose of CBD oil at the moment and will report back on the results.

I've had a few other symptoms so not sold fully on HPV but one of the few things I've not tested for. Will take a look as soon as places open back up after Covid. Interested in thoughts around Prostatitis, not sure if this would lead to any issues with gland?

not sure it was a long time ago but there are over 100 types and they dont have symptoms unless its the genital wart type which is pretty obvious if you have.

You're misinformed, the infection 'can' contribute to changes in the body which can lead to skin cell mutation.

I'd be inclined to try and remember what strains, it might help.

But then again, what do I know...
