Is this Balanitis? I'm 21, had it most of my whole life, no treatment has worked

Hello, I've seen a doctor many times about a mild condition I have on my penis glans, have been prescribed 3 different creams including Betnovate and a Hydrocortisone, a course of antibiotics and a swab which said I was clear and still the condition remains. I used to have a tight foreskin up until last year which is now sorted from stretching, and I think the condition began during my teenage years when I wasn't able to wash the glans. It often feels dry and can sometmes feel slightly painful when the foreskin retracts, almost like its rubbing and the sensitivity everywhere is quite high still, not sure if this is due to the condition. The urethra opening is always red and inflamed and red areas appear frequently around the glans itself. Any advise on what I should do would be much appreciated, have attached a photo too. Many thanks!

If you can urinate, ejaculate, masturbate, or perform sex without any alarm symptoms like pain or discomfort, then there is no point of worrying about the appearance of your glans as long as you are young and growing.
Regarding the bulging out of urethra, it could be due to a tight frenulum or tight foreskin history.
Remember, glans penis is a mucus membrane that is easily visible unlike other mucus membranes. Just stop looking at it all the time.
Consult a urologist for reassurance. If he says it is nothing, then it is nothing.

almost everyone here has consulted a urologist and they have said it is nothing, yet the pain and discomfort continues. I had a circumcision under the advice of a urologist and it made everything worse. They don't know how to treat it or even what it is, that is why we are all on here trying to figure it out ourselves.

But all urologist studied for many years. They are not all bad. Do you said to your doctor that the circumcision didnt work?

yes, so they then discharged me from urology to dermatology, who I am with now and don't understand either
he said you will be extremely unlucky if the circumcision didn't cure it
I wish now I had thought for myself rather than followed the advice of professionals

Yeah the term non-specific really doesn't help the cause as basically says we know there's an issue but no idea what's causing it.

i also got circumcised. it helped a little but the glans still gets red and painful. i am wondering if it is due to an autoimmune disease but that's just from reading things on google. might just be due to stress/friction.

do you sometimes get swelling/tenderness where the skin would have healed underneath from the circumcision?
i lost feeling in the right half of my glands, how did yours go

mine was very clean. the doctor did a very good job. i get swelling after sex or sometimes after masturbation where the frenulum used to be (it was removed in the surgery). its still only 4 months after the procedure so hopefully that will go away but we will see in time.

i was talking to a guy yesterday who has very similar symptoms and he is convinced that urethral stricture is his issue. how would this be treated Riggsy?

i thought it might be a stricture. My dad had one and was being treated for it before he died (unrealated reason). He and I are very similar and I had almost identical health issues to ones my dad had. However the urologists both ruled it out after 2 x cyscoscopy's
i think auto immune is most likely, followed by a rare bacterial infection of the prostate.
I wonder how hard it would be to get a specialist to study the condition using us from on here as specimens.

Not sure, mate - I'm just at the stage where the doctor thinks it could be a urethral stricture, so I was curious if anyone has had treatment for this considering the symptoms we're all having!

a guy on this thread or another thought he had this and they put a baloon down his uruthera and blew it up to stretch it and be was in pain for months and didnt work.
i get my test results back from america in a couple of days for a urine and semen culture with the same company caleb used when they found e.coli.
Im hoping something comes back as i believe this is bacteria causing all my issues plus i read pus in urine is a very strong indication of a UTI which i suffer from.
