Male 36

Have had problems peeing for about 3 years about 2 years ago went for a urethral cystoscopy and they found a stricture and done a urethrotomy at the same time . I was then left with a catheter for about a week once removed everything was great was peeing with a great force. Lasted around 7 months then the problems was coming back . back to the surgeon which do e some test saying stricture was back and is now longer due the urethrotomy and I would be best to get a urethroplasty. Last week was in for the opp lasted about 6 hours they had to take a graft from my inner check. Now have a catheter in for around the next 3 week till things hell up. Pain is not that bad more pain in the graft site than the man hood balls are like coconut's and walking has taken on a new look but hopefully this will be a long term fix . if I can offer any information that I know to anyone in the same situation please ask me and I will try and help.

hi Pete, I m just about to undergo a two-stage penile buccal mucosa urethroplasty, my meatus and navicularis urethra are almost completely obliterated cause LS....., very interested in getting info on recovery, pains, painkillers, etc, how are you doing these days ?

Hang in there! I had mine done in December but luckily during the surgery they decided they had enough urethra to work with and didn&t go ahead with the graft.

I had mine done in Japan and they are over cautious here so I was in hospital for 3 weeks after the operation. I had pain killers intravenously for almost a week but after that never needed anything.Just be careful sitting and use a donut cushion. My bum was numb for weeks and even 2 months later, parts of my balls still don&t have complete feeling back.

thanks body, hopefully with urethra reconstruction self-catheterizing is not applicable anymore...

hi Osakadan, was your urethroplasty a 1 or 2 stage procedure? were you given a transurethral urinarycatheter or super pubic? I m pretty sure I will need graft as LS has destroyed the tissue

Mine was one stage. I had the suprapubic before the operation as the uretha had completely closed up and my operation was already scheduled for 2 months ahead. After the operation I had both catheters for a few weeks.

I am going in jan 29. My doc thinks he can cut it and sew it without graft from cheek. He wil have to see whn he gets in there. IS yours still good? how long was catheter in? Mine said 3 weeks and go home same day of surgery.

if the 2 stage urethroplasty is successful is self dilation still needed ?? hope not

self dilation is thing of the past. I had the procedure in October 2018. they gave me a post-op cath for a couple weeks - since then my stream has been very good. My bladder got distended over time so I still have some problems but seems much better. My nerves are still regrouping after the surgery but skied a lot, running, even a bike ride with minor complaint.

The incision and stitches in the tweener area was really uncomfortable and was not what i expected but did not need pain pills.

Dr. wants to avoid any type of aggravation to the urethra. This would be based on my condition - had a deeper stricture closer to bladder.

never heard on BNI - google found bladder neck incision for me.

      I'll pass...

that actual incision is in a very delicate spot, 3 to 5 hours procedure

carlo , be sure you have a very experienced surgeon . . surgery in that area is different than other parts of penis .. do you have to wait a few months for the 2nd stage ? is it just an inch or so into the penis you have to dilate ? there are aloe vera based dilators especially for that area from 'HUNTER UROLOGY' online . . when is your surgery due ? also check out serrapeptase or/and thiosanaminum homeopathic remedy while youre waiting for surgery .. how often do you have to dilate ? ask the consultant to be clear about any and all possible risks .. make a very informed decision buddy

CARLO I just realised you have already had first stage done .. hope all is well and all is a success and happy outcome , m sure it will be

ei body went to see my surgeon, healing is going well, issue is with open urethra the skin is sensitive, intercourse might be tricky. I m booked in already for 2nd stage reconstruction in Sept. This second procedure is for comfort, appearence, My surgeon mentioned that many patients decide not to procede with 2nd stage...., Now the issue with that is intercourse considering i have an open urethra with mouth skin graft in contact while penetrating, hopefully will be able to check on that in a few weeks time

hi carlo .. I initially thought you had yet to undergo the op. . you had another stricture also by the sounds of it and some pain .. I had a 1 stage procedure for a not too narrow stricture at fossa area. . the surgeon wasnt a specialist .. told me nothing regarding potential risks etc at the consultation .. as a result I had a 6 month nightmare until a specialist fixed me up .. Im ok now , still recovering healing etc . . I would say to get the second stage done , just bu a very experinced surgeon who specialises in this field only . sounds like your consultant is a specialist anyway .. good luck with it . have patience too.. and dont be afraid to ask anything to the consultant/surgeon ie . how many of these have you done ? If you feel you need to talk with me still then sure I can give you a watsapp no. .. good luck buddy and take care
