Median Lobe Prostate Enlargement Treatment

Posted , 5 users are following.

I am 53 years old, and I had a Biopsy test and upon the results the Doctors says my Prostate has enlarged and also there is an advanced stage of a Median Lobe Prostate Enlargement and that caused me to urine blood.

Now, the blood in the urine has stopped, I do not feel any pain in my lower Abdomen, everything is fine but I have no desire for sex and now arousal, although, before this stage I could not had any released during intercourse.

However, the Doctor is asking me for a surgery to remove the Median Lobe which I am not in agreement with him because of the following:

  1. Considering the pain, anxiety and the stress I may need to go through during and after the surgery
  2. I am very afraid I could loose my erection, that could lead me not ejaculate
  3. The cost is also too much for this surgery at this time.
  4. I also believe there should be a kind of diet or life style changes that can shrink this Median Lobe but just that the doctor is not telling me.

Please can you advice me on what to do now?

Thank you.

What is the prostate size? What medication do you take?

    where are you based?

in UK, there are groups doing ejaculation sparing greenlight which has only 20% chance of RE. epTURP is also around and there is a doc in midwest that does it. losing your erection is uncommon. RE or dry orgasm is more common and these are procedures, like aquablation that have good chance of not having that happen. there are always risks however.

most things like supplements and other less invasive non cutting procedures cant target a median lobe specifically unless it's a procedure like that. but overall shrinkage could help. i have found quercetin, swedish flower pollen and saw palmetto in a potent prostate multi-modal pill help better than flomax.
