The doctor used to do home visits once a month. That does not happen anymore..

Me too. I read the instructions. A lady came by and paid for her parking. She said it was easy and told me how. I still could not manage and went off to park somewhere else.

Life is getting all too complicated. When I started to drive you parked outside the shop/house you were visiting.

As to the public loos, or rather the lack of them, it saves lots of money PLUS they get lots more in fines when those who just cannot wait are done for indecent exposure.

What did people do all those centuries and millennia before WCs were invented and public conveniences were erected? It is a disgraceful abrogation of responsibility. It is again money being preferred to people.

In short it is love your money instead of love your neighbour as yourself.

And what about the evening when the cafés are closed? Do you have to go into a pub?  When the pubs close are there any choices left?

oh yes council tax is high here ,we get less and less for it every year

we have lost our police station a lovely old victorian building bull dozed and the police moved in to a centre along with alsorts of other buisnesss,

sad. no local police staion anymore

We have lost our police station too. It's the county town too. The court remains, so far. The market too went a few years ago. It is sad to see a town being turned into a dormitory.

My friend John has key for disabled toilets and said I could get one. You heard of this?
    • Posted

Since the town we lived in turned less rural and more urban we moved.

I'm going to have to get someone to live in my spare room because of the bedroom tax and I'm dreading it, I rather go and dig a hole in my garden and dive in it while I still have the option.

it could be a good thing hun

if you find the right person .

but  a bit unnerving if you dont know the person

      diffitcult call .

No idea how to find the right person. I found a website where you can say you've got a spare room. A man who'd been abroad in the forces contacted me and I panicked like hell. Thankfully he wanted a garage for his car and I don't have a gargage so I could say no with a good conscience. Phew!
