Hi Louise, I hope you are feeling better already. For some women, peri is not so easy.  I missed ONLY ONE period and I started with a series of symptoms that were scarry. Many women say they were put in a holter without nothing it showing anything abnormal.  I was not an exception - I had it all, super irregular heart beat, lack of breath, dizziness, very sore joints and muscles, allergies without never having anything alike.  You name it, I had it.  It took like 6 months for the symptoms recead, but  now I am just fine.  Period is erratic, that is the main symptom of peri.  As I never had depression, my gyno never agreed withall those symptoms being part of peri, but it is obvious for me now that they were.  My doctor was the only one that uttered the word "perimenopause" and told me I was "health". He asked me too if I was depressive - it looks like depression is one of the main symptom, followed by hot flashes, that I barely had too. At the first months, when my heart went crazy, I was scared to exercise too, but them I figured that if the holter said I had not specific, all my blood work were fine, and all these women were complaining about the same, it was nothing to be EXTRA concerned, so I started exercising again, but doing light things, walking mostly, until this phase finished.  Now I feel good again, and I do whatever pleases me.  So, above all BE POSITIVE, it will pass too and you will feel fine at some point.  Hormons are a role-coaster, so be prepared for some ups and downs. Take good care of your depression and live a health life.  XXX

That rimids me too my allergies have been worse this year. There are times I feel like I have the flu where my stomach acts up. I know I got peri menopause bad because of all the symptoms I have been having like palpitations, flu like symptoms and allergies and stomach problems.

Never drink caffine or eat chocolate it can make the symptoms worse

I have been in panic mode for years and my doctor has always called me a hypochondriac!  But when you read the list that Jay put on we can all relate to at least some of those symptoms.  Just remember Lou that lots of us suffer from fear!  and in some cases this fear takes over and ruins our lives, it certainly did me.  But speaking to ladies on here makes you realise that we are not alone which I have found really helps!  Hopefully it will help you too xx

    Hi

As you can see from a previous post, the potential symptoms of menopause is a long list!

Some women experience one or many, some experience none at all.

It sounds like you are having some menopausal symptoms but if you are overly concerned about heart related symptoms, you should always talk to your doctor. Your current meds may be adding to our exacerbating what you are experiencing for example.

Having experienced many symptoms due to premature menopause, like others on this site, I know how scary it can be. Menopause can include the physical symptoms mentioned, however, I have also experienced psychological and emotional symptoms. It's a rocky road at times so understanding what is happening to you specifically plays a key role I feel. It's great to share and support one another but it's also a unique experience for each woman. X

    Louise,

I love all of these responses! It really does help to hear that people are going through similar situations. I know it gave me some answers!Im not sure why anxiety and fears seem to come along with this journey, but i guess our hormones play a big part! Trying to level those out with some good vitamins and herbs really helps. Also I daily get out my bible, seriously it helps! hope you are feeling less anxious, that there are so many of us that are right there with you!!

hi louise, when suddenlyin 2012 i was hit with the symptoms you discribe and many more i too was terrified like you which brought on the anxiety.  I have had a 24hr blood pressure and heart monitor fitted with results that my blood pressure keeps dipping too low but my heart was fine yet i kept thinking something was wronge with it. I used to walk 3 miles several times a week but won;t go out on my own so far and feel i may faint. I am struggling with being off balance all the time, i feel i could tip forward all the time whilst stanging.  As i've had so many tests and i'm still like this today can i asure you like i asure myself its our hormones and were perimenopausal.  you will learn to not let it frighten you so much and do your best to get through it.  I can't help cure this but just to let you know your not alone.  take care of yourself, take each day as it comes. sending you a comforting hug

I'm with you anxiuosface. My anxieties go up when I feel my symptoms and there are times I feel off balance and feel like I'm going to faint or pass out.

At lease we got to look at the bright side of things no more periods no more mess to clean up, no more cramps. We are all in the change of life we just have to learn to accept the change with these symptoms and keep our mind on things that make us happy like God he gave us this life so lets change through God

How about the palpitations does that get better too. I hope so because thats what causes my anxieties to go up.

It seems you are doing better through your peri menopause. Maybe you can explain why do we have these palpitations and dizziness and feeling off balance.

    Hello lovely ladies,

My gynecologist told me at my last appointment that menopasuse is not an "event" like first menses or birth; she said it's a process that when complete, THEN we are post-menopausal.  It helped me understand a bit about the waxing and waning of signs and symptoms.

I see my primary doc on the 17th.  Bringing that list of symptoms and the supplement recommendations with me.

For me, as the symptoms of Celiac and Menopause mimic each other, and indeed may be inflaming each other, I need to get BOTH under control.

    smile Heads up!

      Hi Jeagil

yeah when you reach menopause ( one year no periods )

your then post menopause.. Its a transition..

      i am age 50

had a 9-10 year peri menopause ( natural remedies) plenty of trial and error, symptoms you name it i had it..

but now i am post menopause .. Proud of my journey natural route, and feel liberated 😃

i wanted nature to take it course and let my body naturally decline the way nature intended, i didnt want to replenish the declining hormones via HRT personally as I did not want a peri menooause again when it was time to stop  any HRT, plus i am high risk for HRT due to endometriosis in my thirties and family history ..

i may chose the estriol ovestin vaginal option for the vaginal atrophy

( dryness)  as my gyno says a little estrogen vaginally for just the dryness occassionly  is beneficial for me .. Used in small amounts ...estriol being the mucher kinder estrogen of the three we have as women.

but i have Cytolytic vaginosis to clear yet which i never knew i had until my smear result came back .. This would of made the dryness feel more intense and sore so maybe i am not as bad as i thought  with dryness .. having been told i have CV and didnt know, just assumed it was menopause symptom ..

BV and CV needs anti biotics, it mimics thrush but isnt and thrush treatments dont clear it .. Somif you think you have thrush and treat it and it feels the same after .. Then get checked ..

have an open mind along the way, and dont dwell on it, we cant escape it, it is life and a womans transition 😃

      jay jay xx
