Mono need help

Hi so In June I woke up one morning feeling very weak. I thought I needed to eat something but when I ate breakfast I still felt weird. I ended up having my first panic attack. My entire summer was filled with ER visits for weakness, low energy, fatigue, dizziness, off balance feeling, and generally feeling unwell. It turns out I have mono (diagnosed a week ago). I don't know what to do. Just looking for others' stories and well and recovery process. It's my 3rd month and I just feel so helpless. ?? Thanks guys ! Blessing to all

Hey Guys, I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm not feeling to bad today but I am feeling a bit off. Does anyone have to those (or had those days) when they just felt foggy ? Everything is in a haze. I think I brought it up before, and someone called it brain fog. Yea I really don't like this feeling. My head feels soooo heavy

      Hi Christy,

I am not sure why this happens, another strange side effect of this virus, my daughter still has days that it comes back. Many people have had this including me, it does come and go.

      Hey Christy,

Yes the brain fog seems to be a common symptom, I see so many people on here talk about it and how it drives them mad. It must be a very scary thing, I don't want you to worry. Vitamins like B complex are good for helping with the mind and concentration, so maybe worth a try if you are experiencing those symptoms.

Thanks Mono and Craig. This is truly an annoying symptom but thanks for the reassurance and the tips smile

    Hey Christy and Craig

Yeah this symptom is horrible, but I guess It could be worse because it's not painful or intense. My head feels heavy and I feel dazed all the time pretty much, some days are worse some are better, but I've felt like this constantly for 3 months. This is my only symptom though, so it could be a lot worse. I found that I can think and concentrate the same as I could before mono, but I do feel the dazed feeling everyday.

It cut me off mid sentence. But what I meant to ask is you don't have any Fatigue ?

For the most part yeaH its my only current symptom, I had pretty bad nausea and drowsiness a while back. The fatigue I got was just being tired, I was always able to run and walk and do things like normal, I just kinda felt and feel like sh** all the time. Hopefully this symptom fades out soon.

Wow that's great then. I hope the drowsy feeling can lift soon !

      Hey Chase / Christy,

So sorry you've been having this symptom too, so hard to deal with I know. Want you to know that this seems to be a phase for many but it does pass over eventually. It's so frustrating because I know it can feel like it's going on forever, it's horrible it really is. Just hang in there. A good supplement to try as well as the B complex is Co-enzyme Q10, good for concentration I think. Also making sure you get good doses of Vitamin C and Vitamin D as well really important.

Thinking of you both! I still believe things will get better 100% for you both!

      Hi Craig,

How is your back? I hope you are seeing improvement.

Did you have down days after you started your recovery. I can feel pretty good for a week and then have some down feelings, It usually lasts a day or even a few hours.  I guess I am just wondering how long that phase lasts? I do feel much better than I used to.

      Hi mono,

this is EXACTLY how I am at my stage of recovery! My days are so much better doing normal things.(still will get tired, but not the exhaustion) it's great to know you are improving at the same rate.

craig-yes I hope the back is improving xx

      Hi Mono,

Thanks for asking about my back, I'm still having problems I just hope things improve soon for us all! Trusting God to help us through and bring healing!

Yes I think that's quite normal what you are going through. Recovery wasn't an overnight thing for me although there was a stage I took quite a leap forward, but other than that it was still overall up and down with good days and bad days, but as times goes on the bad spells / days become much less and things will improve totally - hang in there still believing things are going to get fully better for you and your daughter. It's understandable to feel discouraged, but you're much closer than you think so hang in there stay the course much improved times are not far away I sense!

Hii Guys I hope someone is up. All day I've been having symptoms of "air hunger ". I feel like I can't get a deep breath in. Not sure what it is but it's really annoying me. It's making me very anxious

      Hey Caroline / Christy,

Thanks for the best wishes Caroline...still not been great at the moment just hoping God can help us all through our tough times at the moment. I really hope that you can continue to make progress Caroline, I know how frustrating it can be when it seems so slow and stalling at times - hang in there.

Hope you are feeling a bit more settled now Christy....I know it must be so scary and frightening these kind of feelings. When they happen, just remember that it is only temporary and that they will pass, slow everything down and your breathing if possible, and remember it will pass over and do something that makes you feel relaxed, even if it's just lying down or listening to music or having a bath or whatever, when you can let your mind be distracted and relax for a while - I know it's easier said than done sad

Thinking of everyone and hoping today can be a good day!
