Muscle twitching and jerks

Posted , 60 users are following.

Hi. I have read a couple of places that other people experience this with peri. Just wondering if anyone has a clue as to what causes it. It was bad for about a week and then got better. Now it's back. Ugh. Such a worrisome symptom. Please again tell me I am not alone on this one!

      Hello sasai,

Sorry to hear you are still twitching. It is very nerve racking. I sometimes feel like my legs are like jello too!!

Also wanted to ask you which kind of Magnesium is best to take?

I'm so glad I found this forum too.

my muscle twitching and jerks finally stopped after about a year. It is hard to say what helped and what didn't. I can tell you that i did stop taking vitamin D for a long time because i wondered if that was contributing. Getting some brisk walking and a little exercise may have helped too. I think anxiety makes it worse and ultimately I think drops in hormones has a lot to do with it

do you ever have any pain at all in the muscles from the twitches?

any diagnosis. are your twitches each day and constant when you are sitting? any suggestions

I too, was wondering if they are constant. I basically have them 24/7

my leg and feet twitches are constant as long as I am sitting or resting. if pressure is places on the muscle the twitching ceases. I have seen 3 neurologists and they do mot have answers.. I just want to ensure this twitching is not an autoimmune disease.

I go to the dr on Monday and will see what happens. Did the neurologists rule out the scary diseases?

    • Edited

yes ruled out several, but some are not ruled out. nerve conduction showed no damage in legs where i have so much twitching but did have nerve damage in arms and 3 pinched nerves in neck . very little arm twitches where I do have nerve damage.praying God has all this in His hands.

mine were primarily legs and feet jerks/twitching. i also had overactive reflexes sometimes. i have no idea what was going on. i remember i cut my vitamin d dosage in half thinking that could be causing it and also one of my medications that i take for depression i switched pharmacy/manufacturer and it all stopped after that. not sure if either one of those helped or if it just went away on its own. Do you take any medications at all?

i take 250 mg of magnesium citrate and a blood pressure benazepril daily. I stopped both meds for a few weeks and still had twitches. Thanks for sharing. it is vwry ery worrysome.
