Muscle twitching and jerks

Hi. I have read a couple of places that other people experience this with peri. Just wondering if anyone has a clue as to what causes it. It was bad for about a week and then got better. Now it's back. Ugh. Such a worrisome symptom. Please again tell me I am not alone on this one!

I also have been experiencing like weird reflexes. like my leg or arm will just jerk/ move involuntary. I've had a neck issue in the past but just seems like menopause has made it start up again. For years it had gone away but here it is again. i have read tho that neck issues can cause this but still weird. Glad I found this group. i wish healing for all.

Yes, I've been having these twitchy jerks in random places too, arms, leg, foot, head, chest, eye. There really is no discernable pattern to this symptom. It is very unsettling. Has anyone tried anything that works?

sharcerv...I'm having the same symptoms. Jerky movements in knees, arms, fingers. no real pattern, random. Sometimes worst than others. How often do you get symptoms. Are they like involuntary jerky movements.? So worrisome. Hoping it's all hormone related.

Yes it is random. I never know when it's going to happen. I believe it is hormonal because I didn't have this before these changes began.

H Denise
I used to get some jerky movements mostly at nights when I start to relax and fall asleep... but since I am on calcium, magnesium tablets called CaltratePlus I dont get it anymore...
Do you take calcium and magnesium?? Maybe something to try.

Thank you Tams, heard people talk about magnesium but will try the CaltratePlus. So happy to hear you dont suffer with it anymore.
Thank you for sharing.

Nothing has worked for me so far. It's frustrating to not know the cause.

Hello Serena,
I've had the same symptoms for 1 year now. After many test and two neurological exams. Nothing conclusive to explain what is going on. I've taken various supplements. But nothing has truly worked. I at times feel inner shaking too. I'm 49 and in perimenopause.

I have had exactly these same symptoms in the last few days. Twitching in calves and occasionally in my thighs whenever i sit down and also occasional muscle cramps. I have just started to take magnesium in the hopes that might help. Also get a 'heavy' feeling in my arm when i am sleeping.
