Natural ways to Shrink Fibroids

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has been able to shrink their fibroids naturally?

I have seen a lot of stuff on the internet but a lot of it is confusing. For example they say exercise more, eat more greens, eat organic foods, eat less meat etc

What if you already do all of the above and still have fibroids? I am 5.6 feet and weigh 53kg or 8.5 stones or so, meaning I am a bit underweight. I use almond milk with gluten free cereal. I am gluten and lactose intolerant so already I eliminate a lot of foods. I cannot imagine eliminating any more foods without having a dull life. I exercise at least 4 times a week – 2 or 3 times at the gym and walk at least 20mins – 30mins every day.

Please can anyone share their story of naturally shrinking fibroids?

Thank you very much smile

I'm currently undergoing acupuncture and taking Resolve Lower for my fibroid. I've significantly reduced the amount of dairy and gluten I consume and have even stopped drinking coffee, barely consume alcohol, and drink herbal teas prescribed by my Doctor of Oriental Medicine. We'll see what happens. My fibroid is 8x8x9 cm, and I will get another ultrasound in January. I plan on increasing my amount of cardiovascular exercise, too. Hopefully that'll help. smile

I am going to start today with trying to shrink mine with a holistic approach and will let you know of any changes in symptoms or size in a few months.  I hope we all can have great outcomes with this problem we share.  I am going to see a holistic doctor next week and have some blood work done as well.

      Hi Lauren!

I am doing the same thing. Here is my routine:

For first 3 days (as a precleanse) I ate only vegetables and fruit.

For the next 3 days I went on a juice Fast and started to take a herbal supplement.

After the juice fast I lost 7 lbs and it was horrible tasting juices.

I Continued taking the supplement, but my diet consists of this:

No grains except amaranth, buckwheat, millet, and quinoa.

      No dairy.

No red meat, but I do eat fish and organic chicken.

75% raw diet, which is expensive.

      No caffeine or alcohol.

I have just started taking DIM and have ordered Turmeric capsules.

I have a green smoothie for breakfast every day and drink a lot of water.

I have 3 fibroids 2 are 8cm and on top of my uterus and the other is 4cm inside my uterus.

I will continue doing this diet until July and I'll have another ultrasound to see if they are shrinking.

If not, I will consider partial hysterectomy surgery once again. My biggest concern about the surgery is the recovery time and this is why I'm going the alternative route. My surgery was scheduled for March 31st, but I'm going to take an 8-day vacation instead.

Good luck to everyone changing your lifestyle to shrink their fibroids!!

      Hi Anna

Each month I get a period still. I may bleed lightly for the first few days, bleed heavier for 2 and lightly for a few more. Sometimes I bleed lightly for 6 days and that's it. Last period I bled lightly for 4 days, heavy for 2 and spotted for about 6 more days. I've chosen to avoid surgery for the third time. I look at it as pre - pre menopausal. Still with a Mirena in my third year.

    Hi missy26092,

Thanks for sharing on your experience with fibroids.

I've just had laparoscopy done last Monday 9th Feb. to diagnosed what causes of me not getting pregnant. Had a brief chat with my surgeon, he said they found scarring tissues and it's been sorted, they've done the dye test but it wasn't successful because both of my tubes are blocked so my dr was saying he'll refer me for IVF. But he said before that IVF they need to remove my bulky fibroid (myomectomy) on the cavity of my uterus. So now I'm not very sure about the op, thingking natural way of shrinking it. But reading your stories makes me want to go for the op (my partner has agreed with). I'm seeing my consultant next month to discuss further the options.

    Thanks again for sharing.

get the myomectomy done if its been offered to you.

then you can get on the job of makig a baby safe in the knowledge theres plenty of room for it.

you could be experimwnting for years to shrink your fibroids.

remember to knock off any supplements that thin your blood like ginco biliba and also anticoagulants like aspirin before the op as sometimes they have a bit of bleeding trouble with that op.

you gotta remem that IVA might not work for you first time.

think how depressed you'll be if you've wasted a whole year on spurious diets to shrink the beasties.good luck !

strike while the irons hot, i say.

I agree with Chica, all the diet changes i made benefitted in my well being and may have had an effect on the fibs, but if you are wanted to go down IVF, you can not waste your time with going on a diet that may or may not work. You need to get them out, heal and get the baby making underway.

I have been suggested not to get surgery because of my age and how many I have.. because it could come down to having to remove the whole uterus..and I am only 25..no plans of babies any time soon...

      oh ok

then you've nothing to lose by trying the diet especially if your not in pain.

its been interesting reading about all you young women having fibroids.

and it occurred to me that maybe diet is the reason you are getting the beasties so young.

so in theory a change of diet could work.

the diet doesnt sound much fun though at your age.

my grandmother was born 1900 and i was born 1948.

i remember her complaining about the beasties when she was 50 something.

my mother when she died had an enormous stomach.

      she had no pain.

i was first aware of mine at the age of 42 coming up to menopause.

i bled and bled and was put on list for hysterectomy.

4 months later i was ok so never got my lady parts removed.

so 3 generations of my family managed to have our babies.

the point i'm trying to make is that those days the diet was completely different. in fact not much food around.

meat and veg straight out of the fields.

      interesting eh.

It's interesting that your Grandmother had them when her diet would have been very different. Does that mean diet didn't attribute to them? Or that the introduction of non organic/sugar (contemporary) diet did? I'm 33 and have 2 big ones. Trying to change my diet and have seen a naturalpath but my biggest is 9.5 cms and so I am skeptical. Has anyone done the juice fast?

As well I have been prescribed fibrstal which I am hesitant on taking..has anyone ever taken this medication?
