Natural ways to Shrink Fibroids
Posted , 188 users are following.
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has been able to shrink their fibroids naturally?
I have seen a lot of stuff on the internet but a lot of it is confusing. For example they say exercise more, eat more greens, eat organic foods, eat less meat etc
What if you already do all of the above and still have fibroids? I am 5.6 feet and weigh 53kg or 8.5 stones or so, meaning I am a bit underweight. I use almond milk with gluten free cereal. I am gluten and lactose intolerant so already I eliminate a lot of foods. I cannot imagine eliminating any more foods without having a dull life. I exercise at least 4 times a week – 2 or 3 times at the gym and walk at least 20mins – 30mins every day.
Please can anyone share their story of naturally shrinking fibroids?
Thank you very much

I want to say I have been aggressively on my journey to heal from fibroids and increase my iron levels since last year when I was hospitalized for low iron. I receved FOUR packs of blood during a successful blood transfusion. I had no idea I was that low and needed immediate care. I went to teh doctor for a general check-up and was told to go to the emegrency room ASAP. Doctors were wondering how I survived/lived that long on such low blood count of 4.4. I thought perhaps unknown prayers and getting some oxygen from being outdoors all of the time while living in Sunny California...exercising.
Well, I began taking DIM, Nattokinaise, Beet Pills, prescribed iron pills, and had a depo lupron injection (the thre month one). I also began drinking a green drink daily and lessening my intake of meat of which I never much of and did not consume red meat nor pork. Okay, a burger every now and then since I felt my body was lacking...
My endo lining was 37 which is danger zone...
The fiboids were excessive and caused pain.
I was extremely tired.
It was hard to go to urinate if I held it too long.
I used big towels to sleep my first three days of my cycle.
Today just a year ago.
I no longer have issues with going to bathroom.
Last cycle NO towels AT ALL!
I can bend over comfortbaly.
I have not taken my prescribed iron pills in over a month not because I chose to but just forgot to get the prescription.
I am going to stick to my routine and it ALL was done with prayer.
I did have to take dep Lupron last summer and had mild side effects. The one that lingered was weight gain But i am working on that one...
I wish you all the best and will post more about my progress...
I suggest asking your doctor about everything. Do research so you will know what to ask about after reveiwing your test results.
Cheers!!!

I do not know how to be fibroid free, but I have read that many women that are low on Vitamin D have fibroids. So, I started taking 8,000 IU a day of Vitamin D. The other thing that I read is that Fish Oil is an anti-inflammatory. So, I started taking 2,000 mg. of Omega 3 fish oil a day. I do not know the size of my fibroids but I know that it has helped get the bleeding under control. It is a natural non-invasive way to try. If you do try Vitamin D and Fish Oil, I would love to hear your results.
Also, I do not know how old you are, but they say that fibroids shrink and possibly go away on their own during menopause. I am 48 years old and am hoping I can deal with my heavy flow until then. I do not want a hysterectomy. Because of my mom having breast cancer, I do not want to mess with my hormones.

I am 28 years old with 57 kg weight and 5.5 height.i have 3 huge uterine fibroids with 14 cm 10 cm n 4 cm in the posterior wall.i really want to get pregant as its been 2 yrs of my marriage.is there any other way except myomectomy because i have heard sometimes its heard to stop bleeding during surgery because of huge size and it leads to hysterectomy

I had a huge fibroid removed laparascopically. Unfortunately, I had to pay privately to achieve this as the NHS surgeons were more in favour of hysterectomy. My fibroid was enormous, I could feel the top of it half way up past my belly button and I looked seven months pregnant! It can be done but finding the right surgeon is tricky. I don't know what it would be like to proceed with a pregnancy after this surgery as I'm older and already had my family when I underwent surgery in 2013. I have been absolutely fine since, uterus and ovaries intact! Depending upon your finances it may be worth having a consultation with a surgeon privately who specialises in laparascopic myomectomy?

I've sent you a reply but it's gone to the moderator, probably because I have put a specific consultant's name in it. I hope they will send it on to you. In answer to your other questions, the fibroid was huge (26 weeks pregnancy size) and my uterus was 28 weeks size ( this is what it said in my discharge letter). I didn't want a hysterectomy because of the longer term effects which the doctors tend not to mention such as early menopause, incontinence, chronic pain. I have worked in the nhs for years and have seen so many women with complications and side effects following hysterectomy. However, I know lots of people would disagree with me and say that it's fine. I guess you just do your research and make a judgement. In my case, they were able to remove the fibroid and leave everything else intact so I think that was a remarkable result considering the complexity of the operation. Not all consultants are equal and if you can, you need to go to one of the best.

In London the best consultant for multiple fibroids or large fibroids Open Myomectomy is Professor Mayonda. He does both NHS at St Georges Hospital and Private elsewhere. I had mine done with him 32 fibroids removed in January. He is an expert in that field. The bleeding is stopped during the surgery by various drugs including Transexamic Acid and the skill of the surgeon. Google him, do your research, dont be afraid or be forced into Hysterectomy. As already mentioned on this board, not all consultants are the same, some cannot handle large fibroids or multple fibroids, they'll make a mess or will refuse the surgery and for others thats their specialism so they are confident and experienced. Blood loss leading to hysterectomy is very rare if the consultant is experienced.

Yes I am uk based but Northern. I have one fibroid. Lumbar back, hip & leg pain. Its 13x12x7cm so Melon sized. Its in the lower posterior wall but has grown outwards as much as its grown inwards. I am so conflicted. 6 months of Esmya no difference, 6 months of Zoladex 1/2cm difference. Now back on Esmya to decide, AUE or hysterectomy was told not to do myomectomy because of size & amount of scar tissue.

Hi Suzan, I'm new to the forum and I can't tell what answers you've already received. I had a uterine fibroid embolization ten years ago when I was still thinking of having children; the fibroids were very large but they were able to cut off circultion only to the fibroids and leave the rest of my uterus apparently functional. I never did try for children, but when I went back for an MRI a few months after the procedure there was a 70% reduction in fibroid size and good circulation to the womb, so the doctors at that point said there was no reason to think I couldn't. So for a UFE it problably depends on the placement of the fibroids.
