    Well said Mike !

Rocky the only difference in Orlistat Xenical or Alli is the dose ..Alli is usually 60mg .. ones on prescription are usually 120mg but the ingredients are the same...

Just read the patronising reply from Hi2u. I am absolutely fuming how dare they respond in such manner. I work full time and pay my taxes and always have. If I am in need of a drug then I am entitled to have it. My need for orlistat is for a medical reason and I am supplimenting this on a very low fat diet. maybe you should be aware of other peoples needs before voicing your very unneccesaary opions. Lets hope you are in need of a drug that has been sold abroad for profit and maybe you will shut your opiniated mouth

    Hi Everyone.

I just wanted to let you all know that I put my prescription in with Barnsley hospital in April and still havnt got any orlistat. I have been calling every month to get updates but yesterday was told that because of the manufacturing problem they arent due to get any until mid August (and thats not even for definate). I wanted to state that this was my first prescription so I havn't actually used it yet. I just wanted to let the people know that have been using it as it will probably effect you more.

I also wanted to reply to the post from Hi2u UK.

You are so rude, you do not know the personal circumstances of any of the people that are in this discussion.

I have worked full time since the age of 16 and payed full taxes.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last feb (age 22) which automatically means I have to eat a low fat diet. I go swimming twice a week and to the gym 3 times each week and have only managed to lose half a stone in 16 months. The insulin that I inject four times each day makes it difficult to lose weight (and its not through want of trying). Hence why I was put onto these pills, it will in effect better control my diabetes.

All of the people in this discussion are keeping people updated with the availability of a tablet that doctors, nurses, consultants and dietitions have decided it best for us to be on. Unless you are in a higher position than any of these peope then I suggest you stop wasting peoples time (and your own) by trying to involve yourself in something that doesnt concern you. Do you not have a life?

    Good on you Chantelle!

Know exactly how you feel, it is so upsetting when you try so hard to loose wieght with no results. I had a knee op last november and the pain I still experience is awful. I cant even power walk with the dog anymore and walking was my favourite activity and free!!!

Hopefully we may get the prescription soon!!

    Hi all,

I have deleted the post, if there are any posts left that cause offence just click the report link on the post and this alerts me to it (as Amanda did biggrin. If the poster does read this thread again and says everyone is entitled to their opinion or such like, there is a separate area for general discussions if anyone wants to get into debates. A general thread like this is not for voicing such opinions.

@ Debsy & Amanda. I agree it is really difficult and at least we are in a frame of mind where we want to do something about it. Lets just keep trying and hopefully it will be available again soon.

Jeen peen make sure you are eating enough to feel satisfied. My biggest mistake for years thinking the less I eat the more I lose. I now have 9 portions of carbs a day as well as lots of fruit and veg, 4 servings of fats or sugars daily including flapjack, sweets etc as part of a balanced diet. I now eat regularly and feel full. Weight is coming off slowly but surely. Make sure you are not being 'good' by cutting out fats and food. It just ends up permanently on your mind and then the dreaded fast body fuelling needed which you cannot override.
