Jeen peen make sure you are eating enough to feel satisfied. My biggest mistake for years thinking the less I eat the more I lose. I now have 9 portions of carbs a day as well as lots of fruit and veg, 4 servings of fats or sugars daily including flapjack, sweets etc as part of a balanced diet. I now eat regularly and feel full. Weight is coming off slowly but surely. Make sure you are not being 'good' by cutting out fats and food. It just ends up permanently on your mind and then the dreaded fast body fuelling needed which you cannot override.

Just seen this from "my online doctor" :-....................

A press statement released last week with the latest Xenical information states that: "Due to manufacturing issues Roche is out of stock of Xenical. Following a recent meeting with the European Medicines Agency, Xenical is anticipated to continue to remain out of stock with no further updates until the end of July at the earliest, however Roche cannot guarantee that supply will be resumed at that time. We regret the on-going inconvenience this is causing for you and your patients. Roche is making every effort to address the manufacturing issue and will provide you with an update as soon as the product is available again."

    Analysis:

This will be frustrating news for weight loss patients who have been eagerly anticipating news about Xenical stock availability. This latest set back is disappointing, especially as rumours have been circulating recently about production being resumed at Roche's US plant, where Xenical (orlistat) is made.

Hey everybody, I'm new on here, I came across this post when trying to get some more info on the Orlistat shortage. I spent the whole day yesterday ringing chemists near and far and at the moment it seems like it will be at least August before there will be any available. I know this is very frustrating but in the meantime I'm sure if you continue with your low fat diet and excercise then you will still continue to lose weight, even without the pills. Just remember, it is all your hard work with the dieting and exercise that makes you lose the weight, the tablets just help you lose it a bit faster.

If anybody out there still has any of their tablets, the best thing I have found is to just take 1 a day with your main meal and hopefully it might keep you going a bit longer.

I started on Orlistat in February and because of the shortage I only took 2 tablets a day so I was able to keep some aside for when I couldn't get hold of any. To date I have lost over 3 stone but I believe that is more down to my diet and exercise regime than the tablets, however I will have to wait and see if I continue the weight loss when I run out of the tablets completely!

@ Fliss...Thanks so much for the update you've very kindly passed on to us.

Mmmm makes you wonder if it will be available again at all. I'm sure we all desperately hope it will.

As you say it's so frustrating and very disappointing and I think we are all going to need to keep positive that it will be back asap.

I'm sure Roche want it resumed quickly too !:D

Hi Everyone, hope your all doing well,

I was prescribed orlistat in Feb but was unable to get it anywhere, i needed to lose 3 stone to aid my illness, i managed to lose a stone in 2 weeks by eating 3 meals a day, seriously low fat, BUT in all honesty i think it was the power plates that done it, lost 4 inches of my waist in a week, i swear by them, i have started at the gym now 4 times a week just using weights, but i would recommend power plates to anyone, the only thing that has ever worked for me and i have an under active thyroid and still can't get my thyroxine meds level for the past 2 yrs, give the plates a go, most salons have them these days, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

this is my 1st signing and i would like to share with you the news i was given today after trying to get my script filled my doctors receptionist rang round for me and was told by boots that the problem with orlistat is not in the manufacturing but its is a legal matter with a dispute with the naming of this product and until that is sorted they are not manufacturing the tablets, NOW whether this is correct i dont know has anyone else heard this explaination!!!

@wiltslady well thats a new one to me but does not surprise me i have heard loads of reasons i now have been in contact with my local mp about this and he is looking in to it hope he might get a real answer for me i have been in contact with teva uk and they said We are expecting more

stock, but all we can advise is that you keep returning to your pharmacy to

    check on their stock availability.

I think the chances of getting exenical orlistat is very unlikly anytime soon but hope that teva uk can get there stock sorted and rolled out

    Hi

This is my first time on here , and I must say it is good to see Im not alone. I managed to get a months supply from my chemist last month but nothing since and she tells me that they have heard nothing from the ovallstat, When her supplies come in there is just a message at the bottom of her order saying no supply s available at present. She doesn't know when they will be any . I am told to keep popping in and check so that is what i am doing every other day . My doctor wasn't aware there was a problem.
