It just goes to show just how difficult it is loosing weight because there are as many reasons why you have the weight problem in the first place and there are just as many reasons why you cant lose the weight.

I was a 40 a day smoker until my first born a beautuful girl named Lucy and I saw her sat there in our lounge while I was smoking and thought this is so unfair so I went to see a Hypnotherapist and didnt smoke from that day on. Most of my weight problems stem from that as I balloned then until 26 years later when I weighed 25 stone. I now weigh 22stone but loosing weight is a far more difficult thing to do than giving up smoking. Not being able to excersize is a big problem but if you can get youself into the habit of not snacking between meals its half the battle won.

I havent put any weight on during the Orlistat shortage but I havent lost any either.

Fight on we will get there in the end.

It finally looks as though its filtering its way through, I really hope you all manage to get some soon.

Im on my 2nd day today and I had awful stomach aches through the night, not had any other side effects though so hopefully im eating the right stuff. Im assuming the pain was just my body accepting the tablets.

I havn't smoked before Mike but i certianly think its a lot harder to lose the weight than it was to put it on.

@chantelle29 congrats on getting the orlistat, I too managed to get a complete 2 month supply the other day.

With regards the bad stomach pains that could be down to what u ate the day before starting the pills. I also suffer bad stomach but obly if I eat something that doesn't agree with the pills ie mince meat, I have to boil it till there is no fat left.

Its all about finding out what u can and can't eat. I refuse to cut out everything I liked before starting the pills but I have cut down on it all, and I have also changed the way I cook my food, boiling chicken and not eating the skin.

By the time u finish this first month I can pretty much guarantee u will know what u can and can't eat.

I'm on these pills as I need a knee op so can't exercise much apart from walking so my weight loss is probably a bit slower than most peoples but I will get to where I need to be........ Hopefully lol

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE LOSING WEIGHT

Mama1978 I thought it might be that because I wasnt sure if you were meant to eat low fat for a few days before starting. I made spag bol yesterday. I bought extra lean mince and did it in a pan without any oil, once it was browned i poured all of the oil out that had come out before i addded anything else. I was a bit worried but i didnt want to boil it because it rids it of all its nutrients. Anyway I havnt had any bad side effects up to now. Touch wood! lol. If anything bad happens I will boil it next time although I have got portions in the freezer that will go to waste frown

Anyway I just hope it works for me. You hear that it works for some and not for others. Guna try really hard and it really helps havin you guys on here biggrin

My pharmacist told me that each pharmacy was only getting 5 packs a month. So she said i wouldnt be able to collect them until 1st September!

It is better to eat low fat while taking the Orlistat ..when I took them a couple of years ago I lost two stone in 8 weeks ..and no side effects ..just kept me a bit more "regular" but not in a bad way.

Still havent got mine yet here in Essex ..I had my prescription with a local Boots pharmacy that said they had no idea when they would get any... then I switched them to another pharmacy that was getting some supplies.. and since I have they have not had any in. rolleyes

Hi- Does anyone know if Alli has become available again or when it will? I can't find any at all still and with my wedding three months away i'm starting to panic as i have lost only a very small amount since they went out of stock. : (

Went into Tesco yesterday so asked at their pharmacy if they had any kind of update and they said not as yet, but they said Orlistat is coming in now in drips and drabs, but they have a pile or scripts an inch deep waiting so they will go through all of them before handing it out to anyone else
