i had blood tests, all came back clear.
saw dr again and he said i need a nerve conduction test, but no idea how long this will take to get

Did you ever figure out what happened?
Had you fallen around that time or suffer from an injury?
I did a nerve conduction test and an EMG. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life! Try anything else before that!
Was it spinal or neck related? Possibly a Neurologist who is also a chiropractor can help? Mine has done wonders for me. I hope you're alright.
- Good luck!

I had the EMG tests and MRI and lumba puncture. Yes EMG testing wasn't nice but he helped pin point the fact I had S1 root damage I'm not sure on what they going to do next I'm on steroids to stop inflammation but still go numb Foyt and muscle twitching and electrical pulses in my groin gggrrr.

Terry,
I know they put you on steroids and I will not tell you to stop. But look up how eating certain foods like Aloe drink and Papaya and many more can help inflammation as well. You can also try Glucosamine and Chondrointin They are more natural ways and won't maje you gain a bunch of weight or make you sweat excessively. Steroids can also cause many other problems way worse than why you are taking them in the first place. It all sucks to be honest. For me I have found B12/fOLATE AND mATHYLATED (A PROCESS OF DELIVERY) in powder vitamin or gel capsule form helps a lot. Especially for women. We have a higher percentage of body fat BMI than men so we don't process food the same. We don't get enough food nutrients because we processed foods, snacks and acidic drinks, even coffee. Do you drink coffee? lots of water? What is your water source? The process of methylization breaks down the vitamin into its most readily absorbed form. Try Folate and eating things high in Folic Acid. remember those are fat soluble vitamins so once you have taken them for a little while you have to stop as the folic acid can also block nerve ending and clog them. It gives the same exact symptoms you are describing now. I suggest asking for a full blood panel. All glandular production and water/fat soluble vitamins panel. They are very different and sometimes over looked when blood work is done. Its a great place to start.

Hiya I'm 34 and my right leg/foot has recently gone numb (for the past week) and I get tingling pins and needles the same feeling like the needle at the dentist when it's starting to wear off!
The other day for almost 24 hours my right thigh/bum cheek was painful and I couldn't put much weight on my right leg without pain but other then that just numbness and tingling. This is petrifying me as I have health anxiety to start with and I have a blood condition that makes me prone to deep vein thrombosis so I keep thinking I'm going to die suddenly of a blood clot :'( I'm so scared!
My mum takes vitamin B12 injections so I'm wondering if I need these too? Also I have. Wen breast feeding my son for nearly 2 years now and have had to go completely dairy free for over a year as he is allergic to cows milk so wondered if this could be why? I also carry my son everywhere we go and he's so heavy and This has caused me a bad lower part of my. Ack too could this be their reason? Xxx

Hi Rochelle I've got similar dealings like you by the sounds of it. Turns out I've got L5 disc degrading with a bleb that's protruding on my S1 nerve root. Which is causing muscle spasms and numb wierd feelings. I believe also the b12 deficiency could be part cause as my mum got TM and if your mylene sheath is weak then. Eves can be damaged easier. Get your b12 levels checked. Do you take anti acid tablets or anti depressant tablets as these stop you absorbing b12 from food ... hope you feel better soon Ask your doctor for MRI scan xx

Thank you for replying
What causes the L5 disc? could it be from carrying my son around consistently? He's a heavy 2 year old
I don't take any medication but have done Ivf a few times which involves meds but haven't done that now for 2 years!
I'm going to book in and get my b12 checked just to be safe x

Hi Rochelle out of interest where you live I'm in U.K. Lincolnshire xx since I've been diagnosed with L4 L5 disc degeneration I've actually realised 4 people I know and have known for a while have same disc with issues it's the last disc st bottom of the spine and it's where the S1 nerve comes out that signals your leg especially calf muscles. Xx I've had a deep itchy feeling inside my hip. ?? Have you had this feeling xx

The comments and questions I previously listed were for you as well as the ones I posted today. I am new to this and accidentally replied to all of Terrys comments instead. So sorry.
Especially since mine and your symptoms are closer to what happened to me. Even in the same order.
Thanks,
Crystal M.

No reason has been found for it. I went to a podiatrist, and an orthopedic consultant, a neurologist for a million blood tests, had nerve conduction tests, a CT scan, went to a neuro surgeon who wanted an MRI scan that found nothing for his knife. I recently went to see another spine consultant who found no reason. My upper back is fine I can stretch up to shelves, change light bulbs, clean windows, carry things, bend down to clean the bath. It is only my lower back that hurts when walking outside or standing in shops, banks etc.
They say that for my age (82) my back is in good condition with just normal wear and tear. All I get is waffle about idiopathic neuropathy and am seeing another neurologist next month.
