ovarian cyst,adhesions and endometriosis

Hi,Im a 39 yr old mum of 3 and i have had terrible abdominal pain since 2004,all the different GP'S i have seen have said i had IBS.Any tablets they gave me were useless. Then in feb i went back once again but this time was offered swabs and a ultrasound.GP was very rude and did not

want to refer me as she was sure i was waisting time and money. My ultrasound showed a 10cm cyst on my right ovary, the radiographer insisted that i didn't go back to the same gp again.I then saw my gyno and she said that my symptoms were also signs of adhesions and ednomitriosis, that i'd have to have a endoscopy in 3wks to see whats going on.She doesn't seem keen on doing anything about the adhesions but if im in pain i think they should.

Can you give me any advice please.I also want my ovaries removed their all i have left after a hysterectomy in 2001. THANKS.

Yes it can be painful first thing in the mornings and no given nothing for it going to see GP on the 27th and will ask if i can change painkillers to Naproxen supposed to be really good for Athiritis and Endo tell you if there any good if they are perhaps you can ask your GP about them, don't constipate like the ones i am on at the moment b****y awful when you can't go, Hope your muscle settles down soon.

I'm allergic to naproxen they make me vomit badly.I know exactly what you mean these antibiotics bunged me up and now i have finished them i'm no better.

Poor you sounds as though your limited in what you can take for pain relief i can't take tramadol they make me vomit. Can't help with the constipation and if you take to many laxatives it can give you a lazy bowel in the end so your in a catch 22 situation doctors are no use at all, just a question are you in pain all the time only asking as mine seems to be all day every day now?. Hows your bronchitis any better?.

Well with having bronchitis i have hardly eaten a thing just soup really and lots of water and i found i was in no pain at all so it must be the adhesions when my bowel has something in it.I told the doc last week and he said id diagnosed myself.I now have started eating again and the pain is awful and constipation so there was a good side to being ill.It was naproxen that made my stomach bleed if you remember i will never for get that name.Yes sadly i seem to be allergic to alot of drugs including sum antibiotics as well,im a sensitive sole ha ha.I was awake most of the night couldn't get comfortable i now call it the bowels of hell.

We sound exactly alike can't do veg unless mashed to a pulp no peas, beans at all have to chew everything really slowly takes me ages to b****y eat anything cold by the time i am finished can only eat small amounts at a time child's portion's usually. I know its adhesions scar tissue but just won't listen the idiots. Will try the Naproxen if it does not suit will have to ask for something else, the others are just making the constipation worse which in turn makes the pain worse never ending circle. I am allergic to quiet a few things as well. Take care.

You are right we are alike but do you get really hungry i do,tonight im cooking curry and rice nothing to spicy but the smell is driving me mad.But i know better than to have any so i wont eat anything.I miss bread especially toast in the morning, i still say that you are worse than me i can eat whole food it does hurt afterwards but it hurts no matter what i have.We have had a drama here this afternoon a lady was knocked over outside our house and she had her grandaughter with her it was horrible.

Never did like anything to spicy anyway can still eat bread and toast just not certain veg everything i eat hurts after wards but i have to eat as they accused me of being anorexic the first time i was in hospital.Hope the woman was not to badly hurt and her granddaughter was ok. Going to ask about different pain relief as it seems to make my constipation worse and when i foned for a repeat prescription for the HRT they said i had to have my blood pressure checked before i can get it there getting worse had to fight to go back on it, due to oestoporosis.

Oh its maddening isn't it they tell you that you need to be on something then take it away just as quick.I think i have found a sort of solution to my constipation, eating shreddies twice a day.I have been trying it for a week and it is improving abit but im so bloated after it i look pregnant so maybe its to much for the bowels of heel.Naproxen never made me constirpated at all so it might work for you they are a antinflamitory as well and they helped me with the pain, just a shame i was allergic to them.Typical of my luck,as one irish man said to me once on Dublin bus going to the zoo bad luck is better than no luck at all,I was doubled up inside trying not to laugh as he was so serious bless. How are you today?I feel abit brighter my OH's home after a week on,nice to have a company other than the kids,im glad i have you to chat to other wise i might to mad.

Fought to get put on them when diagnosed with oestoporsis told i was taken off to soon apparently don't start counting until you hit 50 i was menopausal at 43 took me off at 49 no consultation just said no more, men GPs for you breast cancer scare in the newspapers started all the crap about them. Oats keep you regular if you like porridge and doesn't bloat you as much that's what i have for breakfast. The Irish have a weird sense of humour but at least they can laugh at themselves and life in general and there very down to earth. Glad you have some adult company at the mo and feeling a bit brighter. I enjoy our chats as well take care and speak soon.

How are you haven't heard in a while, is you OH back at work yet,did you have a good time while he was off for the week, hope you went to lots of good places?. Went back to GP today asked about Naproxen said i could try them but insisted i take a stomach tablet at the same time as he didn't want to cause irritation to the stomach oh joy another b****y tablet. He did say no sign of Crohn's and asked if they had given any indication what it could be said they wittered something about adhesion's, scar tissue or endo finally admitted that's what it could be but he said they don't like doing anything as it may cause more problems in the future, at this stage i don't b****y care as i refuse to live like this any longer can't stay on painkillers for ever just refuse to. Also said he had received no information from the hospital and god knows when i will get a Laparoscopy as they lists are growing ever longer by the day so i think i will have to phone and start moaning and asking again or i will never be seen hate phoning that place as his secretary is always grumpy. How is everyone else keeping as well as can be expected i hope, take care hope to hear from you soon.

Good morning it's a lovely extremely cold but sunny day here.Oh you must be as cheesed off as me,all you have been through and to find out it's bloody adhesions id bet my last pound thats what it is cause our symptoms are so alike.Im glad hes given you stomach tablets naproxen is really good but lethal on your tum,it took 5 days for it to affect me.I saw my gp on monday as im in alot of pain where they did the lapo on my tum button i can feel food passing it and a dragging felling,i asked if its possible that i now have adhesions there as well and he said yes most probably,he looked so sorry for me some help that is.I don't ever want to be opened up again he showed me my records that most of my insides are covered in adhesions and more surgery would just add to them.My OH's back at work for another week but we.ve had bad news stena are getting rid of alot of staff they are selling 2 fast craft ferries and just having the 2 main ones so lets hope he doesn't lose his job its a real worry. My son has been to the docs and he has IBS hes his mothers son alright they gave him merbeverine it did nothing for me and i was wondering if he had adhesions on his bowel as he had a op for polaric stenosis when he was a baby.He has to he nagged to take the tablets hes 16 and in the kevin and perry stage if you ever saw harry enfield, hard work but hes getting better. We are having a new kitchen, bathroom, rewireing and lots of repairs done from the 7th of Feb,the local council is modernising all the houses here.So i will be packing things away and lifting carpets next week,i hope it will be worth it.

Sorry have not been on in an age had to register to reply made a mess of it, thats why it took so long. Still awaiting a follow up appointment told it was last month when i phoned said it would be this month as they are so far behind, still in agony on a daily basis, still on the painkillers and lactalose everyday no b****y help at all. How did your renovations go and are you back in yet?. The only help i seem to be getting at the moment is from the GP he has been great, and the Dietician. Hope your fairing better have they sorted your meds out yet?. Again sorry about the delay bet you thought i had forgotten you.

Also meant to add ended up at A and E again 2 weeks ago due to severe pain and had to wait 5 hours in the end OH went and complained then seen within 5 minutes given nothing just told to take more paracetamol and the junior doctor turned round and said if i were you would not have the Laparoscopy done my response was i refuse to take painkillers for the rest of my life if i don't know what i am taking them for. Am seriously thinking of complaining about this when and if i ever get to see the Surgeon who is meant to be doing it, he must have been all of about 25 if that he was just ignorant and no bed side manner at all. Couldn't eat at all that day as was sick after everything i ate.

Hello good to hear from you again, sorry to hear though that your still suffering i was hoping you,d been sorted and thats why you were not online, wishful thinking for both of us i guess.Im no better and like you i keep taking my pills like a good girl. The renovations are almost over and we had a really terrible time, the electricians where rude argued in my house in front of my children and one young lad was electracuted while they where testing things i thoght he was a goner. Then the plasterers did the walls wrong and the kitchen units wouldnt fit,the servaiour measured wrongly and there was not room for our table plumbers caused a flood the stoppers popped off and there was water every where.I have never been so stressed in my life, they kept dropping tools in the bath and chipping them so ive had 3 new baths fitted the list is endless but the bosses came round on monday with flowers and chocs for me to say sorry for everything and i should think so.Now we are ina battle with the elecs guys they cut our bedroom carpet without asking and they deny it the pigs. But it is being sorted out SLOWLY.We had to live in the house as all this was going on imagine no kitchen for 3 weeks we where living on micro meals it was horrendous and did my bowels no good at all. Then yesterday mh OH went up in the loft to get movicol that we stored there they had only walked all oner the box and broken everything i hit the roof and told them all to get out i was in tears.During all of this my aunty died shes at rest now and was pleading in the end to be let go shed had enough and someone frauded me they have taken a account in my maiden name buying goods worth hundreds of pounds.Imsorry i wish my news was better,im going to see the doc next week cause i cant sleep i wake up all panicky and sweating and everythings going around in my head i cant switch off plus i get nightmares about the work men.But last and not least i won something and i thought YES good news but it was a case of wine typical,i had to laugh if i wasnt on pills id have drunk the bloody lot with what i went through haha.
