ovarian cyst,adhesions and endometriosis

Hi,Im a 39 yr old mum of 3 and i have had terrible abdominal pain since 2004,all the different GP'S i have seen have said i had IBS.Any tablets they gave me were useless. Then in feb i went back once again but this time was offered swabs and a ultrasound.GP was very rude and did not

want to refer me as she was sure i was waisting time and money. My ultrasound showed a 10cm cyst on my right ovary, the radiographer insisted that i didn't go back to the same gp again.I then saw my gyno and she said that my symptoms were also signs of adhesions and ednomitriosis, that i'd have to have a endoscopy in 3wks to see whats going on.She doesn't seem keen on doing anything about the adhesions but if im in pain i think they should.

Can you give me any advice please.I also want my ovaries removed their all i have left after a hysterectomy in 2001. THANKS.

How did it go with the gyno any joy? you got seen sooner than expected thats a bonus at least hope he can do something for you. Back in for a week let out today got the colonoscopy and he took loads of biopsies said it looks like i have Crohn's disease can't be sure until he gets the results back but will call me back when he has them and then they can treat it at least i will know 1 way or the other, said if he can't get a firm diagnosis from those will do a Lapro through the belly button to look hopefully will find out for definite soon. Let me know how you got along.

Hi im glad to got somwhere at last i wish the same could be said for me.He said that the left side of my abdo is like a large ball of my ovary bowel and more adhesions they have ever seen before it is impossible the different organs and they are wrappd so badly on my bowel it is impossible to remove them, they are on my bladder aswell making it look as two sections that's why i don't empty out properly. So they want me to be seen by the back consultant as the pain on the right could be from there.I don't think it is but we will see and i'm been refered to the pain clinic i have to be on pain relief for the rest of my life he says it has to be controled.I have spent most of my time crying after being in there i feel fobbed off i was not even offered a ultrasound. This is the blow that upset me most he said there is no point in doing another lapro as we have seen inside you all before.I was so stunned i just sat there like a muppet can't believe i said nothing and just nodded like a stuip cow,i am so angry with myself and them.I am going back to my gp to ask for a ultrasound and if not i will pay for one myself.I am so glad they can treat it if it is Chron's i'm sending you a great big hug i'm made up you have some good news at last.

No surprise there they all seem to think it's in your head now it's there answer to everything, sorry about the response you got and i know its no help but if it's controlled at least you might get some quality of life back and the back specialist may be able to help it's worth a go. If you don't agree ask the Doc for a second opinion he can't refuse they may be of more help even an ultrasound to double check don't blame you for feeling fobbed off that's how i have felt for years only starting to believe me now. Have to wait on biopsies for definite diagnosis god knows how long that will take and if no defo diagnosis from that its a Lapro, don't see why you should have to pay that's a b****y disgrace.

Thanks for your best wishes grace 2 have decided the NHS is a farce and all previous governments have slowly destroyed it not the staffs fault just to many chiefs and not enough indians if they got rid of all the clip board carriers would save a fortune. They seem to put it all down to the fact that all patients need a phystriatic evaulation now we can't all be nuts hope you get better treatment than myself and cupcake 99 some of the treatment i saw being delivered was b****y awful to genuine patients yet they were taking in people to dry them out for Christmas and then return them back to their drinking habits, i know it's an addiction my Bro killed himself over 13 years through this but it was by his own choice and it may sound dreadful but i think thats wasting monies that could be better used elsewhere. Sorry if i have upset anyone but thats how i feel.

I agree with you my uncle drank himself to death and didn't git a hoot about anyone else and only worried when the next drink would come.I'm a bit calmer today i just feel that everyone else seems to get sorted but not me.Time will tell.

Glad your a bit calmer today know how you feel i was told they have to deal with Cancer patients first which is understandable but it means everyone else goes to the end of the queue if they sorted out their schedules a bit better and employed more Consultants wouldn't be in this mess, hope you get satisfaction sooner rather than later. Big hugs and take care.
