thanks for your advise.
the doctor has gave me lansoprazole for the acid/heartburn ,i managed to eat a meal yesterday tea time without feeling ill
.
i feel a bit better this morning, dont know if is because ive managed to eat some food or because the meds are working either way im just glad to be feeling a little better.
i just wanted to ask a question ,my sister has had a underactive thyroid for years, she takes thyroxine, yesterday she went for a kidney scan and they injected her with iodine, early hours this morning she rang me because she was having a panic attack and she didnt feel very well at all, anyway i know iodine is something to do with your thyroid but i dont know much, could this have been why she felt ill?
susy i hope your feeling better soon and have a lovely holiday .
i hope everyone else is good this morning
thanks Deb xx

Why don't you ring your GP for advice.
We actually went home yesterday for a flying visit as my hubby had a hospital apt and son was in a cycle race. I ended up doing washing, drying and cutting the lawn, it was a long day and I feel exhausted just can't get going today.
I got Up in the night to use the loo and was horrified to find my hip, foot and back pain were back with a vengeance as if the thyroxine had completely worn off, it's not too bad now I've had meds this morning. Not sure if you get peaks and troughs with the meds but it looks like I don't have a steady amount through a 24 hour period yet.
Am pleased all sound good, hang in there debs.
I fancy a French manicure, might get the stuff today now I have nails again.
Take care

Seen specialist yesterday and had bloods done,I have hardly no symptoms and after being assessed he said I seem clinically fine.
I was taking only 2.5 mg of carbs and my tsh went up to 4.5 when I last had my bloods done 3 wks ago so now he wants to stop the carbs and see what happens.
He seems to think I will be fine and will not need anymore rai (touch wood) but time will tell.
I will post my latest bloods when I get them back.Onwards and upwards

Jane, I hope your hip and back pains are clearing up, its horrible being in pain when you are trying to get things done.
Debs, I think the iodine injection could well be responsible for your sister's panic attack. If she's underactive, it could be a real jolt for the system. It will hopefully be just temporary though. I hope you feel better soon, its a long old job but you will certainly get there.
Sue, what are you on and can I have some ! Take it easy or we will have to come and strap you to your chair. When I was hyper I felt as though food was getting stuck in my throught, I also had a funny dry cough.
Chris, I hope you get your blood tests sorted and are feeling better soon.
Marigold, hope your not still stiff and achey. I'm still on the nighttime biscuits, its your fault for telling me about all the yummy ones in Sainsburys.
Kat, I had fluid retention and had fingers like pork sausages. I cut down on salt and increased fruit and veg for the potassium, which makes you wee and get rid of the fluid. My fingers are now chipolaters (is that how you spell it ) Hope you ok.
Lovely to be back in touch with you all, hope everyone else ok.
Take care all, love Bess xx

Sue. Are you feeling any better? I hope you manage to get away on holiday and have a lovely time. Remember to leave the pressure washer at home.
Hi Deb. I'm pleased you managed to get something for your heartburn and you've had something to eat. That's great news
Hi Jane. Sounds like you're full of energy. I get days like that when I can't stop working, but I'm usually worn out the next day. When do you get your bloods checked again?
Hi Barry. I'm pleased you're feeling fine, and the endo doesn't think you'll need anymore rai. That's great news. Sounds like you're getting there.
Hi Bess. I hope your computer continues to behave. They're great when they're working, and a pain when they're not.
Are you feeling ok? I'm not too stiff and achey today, it varies a lot from day to day. I'm pleased you're still enjoying the biscuits. I'm going to Sainsburys tomorrow so if I find any more yummy ones I'll let you know. Tee hee!
Take care everyone.
love,
Marigold

I'm feeling ok, wouldn't say I have bags of energy yet but its getting there, feeling more steady if that makes sense, still waking up with a few aches and pains really depends on what I've done the day before. Think I'm finally losing some of the fluid, have managed to get my rings on 3 days in a row now and got on the scales this morning and looks like I've lost a couple of pounds, now just to lose the other 3 stone!!
Bess it's funny you saying up the fruit because that's all I'm craving at the moment which is not like me at all!
My eyes are still really bothering me though either they are swollen and puffy in the corner of my eyeball or red and weepy, Marigold when you had your sore eyes did you get any drops for them and if so did they work? Going to ask the Doctor about it on Tuesday. I seem to cope all day until about 4pm then I feel wiped out and starving not sure what that's all about? Pleased my nails are still growing though and they seem to be quite strong not splitting or peeling.
I need to start getting out and about a bit more feeling a bit like a hermit still signed off sick but now on half pay so quite keen to get back to work again although I really want to be ok this time so I last longer than 1 day!
Sue hope you enjoy your holiday and get some serious relaxing done, I think that it is a good idea you speak to someone when you get back about your new symptoms.
Barry well that all sounds positive maybe you had just the right amount of RAI to kill off enough of the thyroid that you won't need to have any drugs, hows the sinuses?
Bess nice to hear from you, where are you with treatment etc whats next for you?
Jane maybe your hip, foot pain was because you had done too much the day before I find that if I've done loads I pay for it the next day, you still feeling like you need more thyroxine? I've just read that it takes 3/4 weeks for thyroxine to completely leave your body so I'm thinking it must take that long again to build up in your body. Who knows?
Marigold what lovely biscuits did you find? Mind you the way I am at the moment I'd be more interested in the fruit section, changed days :-)
Going to have a glass of wine tonight while watching the X-Faxtor I think, well it is made from grapes!
Take care,
Kat xxxx

Marigold, how did you know that your Levo dose was not right? I am sure mine isn't, I feel tired out and full of aches and pains now apart from a few hours after I've taken my thyroxine then they creep back and it's driving me mad, I had such high hopes a few weeks ago and feel really low again.
Basically I'm doing nothing here in the caravan I'll never cope at home and work next week and am dreading it. I need a re think and might have to reduce my hours as I've been taking leave to get by and hoping I'd be better by now.
Kat, you sound better but not home and dry yet. Your eyes sound sore maybe they need looking at. Mine are a bit gritty mainly night times, I got
some drops at first but havnt needed them for a while.
I will be watching Gary Barlow later too!
My mum has had a funny turn too last week, she collapsed in the street. She had her heart checked which was fine and is waiting for blood test results. She seems fine now but we are all obviously worried. I wonder if it's thyroid related as I collapsed twice last year before I was diagnosed, they do say these things are hereditary don't they.
Take care

Hi Kat. I'm pleased you're starting to feel better. My aches and pains are worse at the moment, but I think it's my arthritis, I go through phases when it's worse. I've been baking this afternoon, and my back was going mad with standing. Hubby said the chocolate buns were the best he's tasted for years.
(he must be after something). It's good your fluid retention is sorting itself out. You can send some of the weight you want to lose down to me.
My eyes are sore and gritty at the moment, and I'm using the artificial tears more than usual. My right eye was red and sore in the outer corner and the lower lid looked swollen. I got some Brolene eye drops from the chemists, they're for minor eye infections and it cleared up. I've used them before and they're good.
I'm not really eating biscuits at the moment, I'm just winding Bess up.
I'm not even having my snack attack in the middle of the afternoon as I did before. I think 4 pm is a time when you feel hungry, it's quite a while since lunch time, but not quite teatime. That's when you get the munchies.
I hope you enjoy your glass of wine. Take care.
Hi Jane. I knew my Levo dose needed changing from my blood tests. I was having my bloods checked every two weeks to make sure I didn't go hypo. I suppose with not going hypo it wouldn't take so long to get my thyroxine levels to where they should be. Are you on 100 mcgs? I feel fine now, steady as Kat said. It's nice not to have my heart thumping away and not feeling hot and sweaty. I feel better than I have for a long time.
You will be worried about your mum. I hope she's ok. It's good that her heart's fine. Yes, Graves is hereditary. I often wonder who I can blame for having it.
Take care.
Hope everyone else is ok.

Kat I was using a tablet cutter to cut in half my carbimazole.
My sinuses are alot better now after using the nasal spray (busenoid)I think it was it's a steroid that helps open your airways open up, I still use it now when needed.
Thanks for the vote of confidence marigold I just hope mh levels don't go funny again after stopping the carbs. As you all know it's always a worry.
Take care all baz

Bess i have dizzy spells ,they are quite scary ,i stayed in because of it but not getting it so much now.
i ve been so so much better since i started eating again.
i wanted to ask a question about the heart racing, how much do your levels have to have come down for the heart rate to get back to normal?
im feeling a lot better in the day but at night my heart feels like its racing a lot more than in the day. i take a betablocker when i go to bed but i lay in bed for hours not being able to sleep, last night i was still awake in the early hours and couldnt take another betablocker as i already had what im allowed so then get myself worked up and feel worse
.
i ve had my blood took this morning so should have my results tomorrow ,hopefully they will have come down somemore .
i hope everyones as well as can be
