    Morning All,

Been to the Doctors this morning, she was in a much better mood thank goodness! Anyway been signed off again for another 2 weeks but I've to have a blood test next week to see if everything is heading the right way and then back to see her the week after to discuss, sounds like a plan. I'm hoping that if all is well that she will let me go back to work again on a phased return.

I can feel a big difference just over the last couple of days, nothing hurts so much and more energy again, long may it continue. I did say to the Doctor that I'm keen to avoid going very over or very under again she seemed to agree saying that now the thyroid has burnt itself out that shouldn't happen, roll on 6th October when I see the Endo.

Deb my heart always felt worse at night, I think because you have no other distraction you are aware of it much more. I can't remember exactly when it started getting better but then I've had other heart issues so probably not the best person to ask, let us know your blood results when you get them, fingers crossed they show an improvement.

Bess I used to get dizzy/fainty spells but they were panic/anxiety related especially in supermarkets/shops I think its something to do with the horrible lighting they have. It could have been that you had a drop in your blood sugar or like you say you got up too quickly, its horrible all the same, I hope you are feeling ok now?

Marigold I asked the Doctor about my eyes and she wasn't too keen to give me any drops as she doesn't want to interfere if there is no infection. So will just have to wait it out and hope that the thyroxine does it's job and clears them up, diva sunglasses until then :D

Jane hope your Mum is okay, same thing happened to my Mum not so long ago, turns out her pulse was really fast and her blood pressure was really low she had a re-adjust of her tablets and seems fine now, it is a worry though. I hope you can reduce your hours at work, its really hard knowing what to do work wise while we try and find our correct levels isn't it, when are you due your next bloods etc?

Off for a de-caff and a wee brownie and then a walk with the dog before it pours with rain.

    Take Care everyone,

    Kat xxxx

PS a lottery winner in our midst eh Marigold have you spent it yet? I've just started doing the odd EuroMillions again the kids are always convinced that we have won, if only it were true x

    Hi all,

Congrats marigold, such a shame it wasnt the jackpot, it must be a kid thing because my son keeps talking about winning and buying a house with a swimming pool. Sorry that your arthritis is playing up I wonder if it affected by the rotten weather we've been having lately.

Kat. At least it's positive with your GP and things are going in the right direction.

Bess, I used to get those dizzy spells with propanolol, not sure if you are on it or not, sometimes I was too scared to drive but I havnt had one for a while now. Hope you are ok soon, I went to see my GP about it and he reduced my dose.

Debs, I can sympathise with your heart bumping in the night, i got it when I

was hyper and for a short while when I was euthroid and sometimes I'd

convince myself I wouldn't make the morning. It was bess who put

something on this website about the palpitations being completely harmless

but very upsetting that helped me a lot. (probably that and not being as hyper)

I still feel rubbish and have an appointment to see my GP on Friday as I

don't see the endo now till October and can't wait that long.

Hope Susie you are enjoying your break,

    Take care

    Hi everyone.

I didn't know you could get tablet cutters Barry. The wonders of modern science. Hope you're feeling ok.

Bess, I'm sorry you felt dizzy in the supermarket, it must have been frightening. Like Jane I started to have dizzy spells when I was on Propranolol. The endo said it was because I was still taking them when I wasn't hyper anymore and I didn't need them. They start you on drugs, but don't tell you when to come off them. :lol:I agree with Kat about the supermarket lights too. I sometimes think I've gone out wearing the wrong specs as I can't focus properly when I'm in the supermarket.

Deb. Have you decided what to spend your winning on yet? I only do the Euromillions when it's a big rollover, but I'm like Kat's kids I'm convinced we're going to win. :lol:You never know we might one day.

I know it's not a nice question to ask, but has anyone else developed bloating and lots of wind since they started on thyroxine? I think I'll take off one of these days.

Hope everyone is feeling not too bad.

Hi all, thanks for the support, it really helps.

Deb, I too had the palpitations worse at night, I couldn't get comfortable for the banging and stop/starting of my heart. I think it was about a month or so before it settled a bit. You'll be alright though, hang on in there. I found a relaxation tape helped.

Kat, you're right about supermarkets, I was in Waitrose so I think it was the thought of the bill when I got to the checkout - enough to make anyone panic ! I am prone to low blood sugar and I must eat a bigger lunch (any excuse). I also used to get wobbly with panic attacks and hated supermarkets. I feel fine today but I think one of your brownies would make me feel even better.

Jane, sorry you're feeling not so good, hope you get sorted soon and you get on ok with your GP Friday.

Marigold, hope your arthritis is a bit better,do you take a fish oil supplement ? I suppose we cant take it with thyroid problems.

I am still on a low dose of Propanolol, 20mgs. twice daily but its for migraine prevention. I'm sure it makes me wobbly but I cant pluck up courage to stop it completely. I must try, Ive noticed I'm much slower walking the dog when I'm taking this. That is so true about doctors starting us on medication and forgetting to tell us to stop it !

Take care you lovely lot, hope Sue is having a good rest and hope Barry, Dave and everyone else ok. Bess xx

    hello everyone

    thanks for the reply s.

ive just had my results and wondered if anyone could help me with them, i thought with these results the doctor would lower my dose of carb but they have told me to stay on 20 mgs and go back for a blood test in a month.

    they are T4 20.9 , T3 5.2 , TSH less than 0.1 .

my t4 has gone down from 34 to 20.9 in two weeks so is this wise to stay on 20mgs of carb.

marigold i dont think i would buy much with my winnings

im waiting for the big win smile

    take care everyone

Hi Deb. I hope you're feeling better. Your T4 is at the upper end of the normal range, and your TSH is reduced, but that's because your T4 is still quite high. I don't know about the T3. You're doing well, keep up the good work. smile I think you'll be ok until your next blood test, a month isn't very long, but if you feel things aren't right shout up.Are you eating ok now?

I'm waiting for the big win too. I'm convinced we'll win one day.

    Take care.

Hi Bess. I hope you're feeling ok. My arthritis isn't too bad, it comes and goes.

It's worse in bed, I never know what to do with my legs. Yes, I take a fish oil supplement. I came off it when I was having the RAI, but started it again afterwards. I didn't think the Propranolol was making me slower, but since I stopped it I realise it was. It took me ages to do the ironing, and I can whizz through it now. I hope you haven't had more dizzy spells, it's frightening especially when you're out.

I hope Sue is enjoying herself. I don't know if she was going away for a week or two weeks.

Jane, hope you get on ok when you see your GP.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

    Take care,

    Love,

    Marigold

    hello

im worried because with it going down quite well every 2 weeks i thought if i carried on with the 20mgs of carbi i would end up underactive, im not sure how it all works but my levels have come down quite quickly i think.

yes im eating a lot better, feeling brilliant compared to how i was feeling, still have the racing heart at night but not so panicky so im happy at that smile .

marigold whats the normal range for the t4 and do you know the normal range for the tsh?

    i hope everyone s feeling well .

    Debs,

I agree with Marigold, your TSH is very low but T3 is on the normal but high end of the range. We don't do T4 here so I couldn't comment on that. You are obviously still having overt hyper symptoms as well so that is probably why they have left you on the same dose. With luck your bumps in the night will subside as things even out and dose will be reduced next time.

Hope all are well, I am pleased that I have managed to get my boss to let me reduce my hours for the next month or so. He has also agreed to more flexible start times which will really make a difference when i am exhausted.

Will let you know how the docs goes tomorrow, fingers crossed for a thyroxine increase...

Hi Deb. I'm pleased you're managing to eat more and feeling a lot better. The normal ranges tend to vary a bit depending on where you look, but T4 is about 10 to 25. TSH is between 0.4 and 5.0. Don't worry about your TSH being low that's because your T4 is still high. Takie care.

Hi Jane. I'm pleased you've got your work hours reduced. Lets hope you get your thyroxine increased tomorrow. I've got my fingers crossed too. Take care.

Sorry debs I didn't see that last post,

TSH levels are 0.4 to 4.5 which raises as the thyroid starts to struggle and T3 levels are 4 to 8.3.

    Evening All,

I've been bored with a capital B today which isn't like me at all also having another awful period which I know is due to being hypo apart from that I'm not too bad believe it or not!! Well my eyes are still quite bad looking not sore though going to try some cucumber slices tomorrow!

Barry underactive at last, whoo hoo, hope they don't leave it too long before they start you on the thyroxine.

Deb your levels seem to be coming down nicely, so glad you are starting to feel better.

Jane glad you got your work sorted out, I was thinking about you. Hope all goes well at the Docs tomorrow let us know how you go.

Marigold you can whizz through my ironing anytime you like :-) I've noticed some bloating since being on the old tyroxine but that could just be all the weight I've piled on. I can't remember either how long Sue is away for, hope she is relaxing and not re-decorating her hotel room :-)

Bess glad your feeling better, I'm still not very good in a supermarkets or big shopping malls, I've started trying to go back into Tesco just for milk say to try and get used to them again, sounds daft I know, how did you overcome it?

I'm in bed already trying to get warm it's freezing up here in Scotland, had to put the heating on yesterday!

Hi Barry. Told you you'd be ok. You'll soon be on thyroxine, and you'll feel great. (Ihope so anyway). smileI've had bloating and a gassy tummy for ages. I was blaming the carbimazole, but when I came off that I still had it so I'm blaming the thyroxine now. It can't be thyroxine in your case as you're not on it. I'm ok on a morning but it gets worse during the day. If it's not one thing it's another. Take care.

Hi Kat. Sorry you're feeling bored. I've been baking cakes this afternoon, I hadn't done any baking for years, but I'm enjoying it at the moment. It must be something in the tablets. Pleased you're not feeling too bad apart from your awful period. It maybe would be a good idea to have your haemoglobin checked to make sure you're not anaemic.

Sue has probably re-decorated her hotel room and is now pressure washing the prom. It'll be good to have her back. I hope she's had a good time. smile

It's a good idea just to go into Tesco for milk until you get used to it. I haven't been panicky like that but I'm still very jumpy. Someone just has to cough ot sneeze and I'm to scrape off the ceiling. Take care.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

    love,

    Marigold
