mine was above my right eye its finally gone, it lasted 2 days ,
i hope i dont start getting them regular.
i was having a good day, went to tesco and ikea for a walk out for a bit then got home and a head ache for 2 days.
im trying to cut down on the propranolol ,doctor thinks it to soon but im sure they cause me lots of side affects , they put my dose up to 40 mgs 4 times a day so im trying to just take 40mgs twice a day, i asked for 20mgs but they dont want me to have them
, surely i should have more say in what dose i take.
susy hope you get that appointment soon .keep on at them if you dont.
i hope you feel better very soon.

i ve been on propranolol for 7 weeks altogether, they started me on 20mgs 3 times a day then 40 mgs 3 times a day then 2 weeks ago they upped it to 4 times a day.
how long was you on them for ?
i find they make me very dizzy .
one doctor told me to tweak about with them and take as i needed but another said to take the 4 a day .
i only really notice my heart racing at night time .

Deb, I was on Propanolol for I think about 8 months, whenever I tried to come off it, my pulse went up again and I felt anxious and panicky. My GP lets me take it as necessary now because my pulse is normal but they must have thought you needed it to keep upping your dose. Have a chat with your doctor, I think Propanolol is a godsend in many ways but you're right, it does make you feel like cr*p ! When your blood results improve, your pulse will settle and then you can look at reducing the dose I should think.
Hope everyone else ok today. love Bess xx

Sorry you feel rubbish, we all missed you when you were away I was going to book you to jet wash my drive!
All I can say is give it a bit longer rather than worry about other possible illnesses yet. Your body has been all over the place recently with being hyper and then Rai followed by hypo like you've been through the wringer. Your levels have settled and the rest may follow. Not that I know anything but i too feel and look very hypo at present and am remarkably calm.
I have done a bit of research which does suggest you need 6 to 8 weeks of thyroxine to get the best from it. It also said you tend to need less once you're in your 60's. I'm on 100 and feel like it runs out anytime from mid afternoon to the evening time. Kat is on the same, how you getting on Kat?
I feel marginally better for starting work a bit later and dropping to 4 half days. Today is my first Wednesday off and I managed to do a bit of gardening which was good, I'm stiffening up now though so I may pay for it.
Hope Debs son had a good first day at big school, my lad is year 6 so that's next year for us. Hope Barry has had no more frights and everyone else is as well as they can be. Sorry it's a long one.

Went to docs today got checked out and seemed all ok blood pressure pulse was fine.Got my bloods done as well to see were my levels are at.
Marigold like you said them palps could just be one of those things.
Debs I had my rai done in December but I have been under and over a few times since. They think I am finally under now though but time will tell.
I wouldn't play around with the propanolol until you have proof that your blood levels are improving- when I was first diagnosed a 160 mg dose still sent me into AF so just be careful.
Keep digging in all take care baz

Hi Sue. I is here. I'm sorry you don't feel well. Your T4 and TSH were fine, so I'd go and see your GP as your endo suggested. Tell him your thyroid levels are ok. He should do some blood tests to see what's causing the fluid retention. It sounds like you're having a good time cutting the lawn mower wire in half and leaving the hot tap on. When we got home from shopping last week there were two starlings flying round the living room. They'd come down the chimney, so there was soot and feathers all over. Luckily we weren't out too long as there would have been an even worse mess. Hope you feel better soon, and don't work too hard.
Hi Deb. An aura is what you get sometimes with migraine before the headache.
Flashing lights and zig zag lines, and you can only see half of everything.
I'd stick with the Propranolol. It's to stop your heart beating too fast You'll be able to reduce the dose when your thyroid levels come down. I know it makes you feel strange and slows you down, but it's better for your heart.
I'm pleased your son enjoyed his first day and his dinner. Was he as smart when he got home as he was when he set off?
Hi Barry. You'll be relieved your blood pressure and pulse were fine. I was just thinking today it'll soon be a year since we had our RAI. Doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself?
Hi Jane. I hope you're managing with work and feel a bit better. I feel fine. I'm a bit stiff and achey, but that's old age. My tummy is a windy, but apparently thyroxine can cause a gassy stomach, but as I'll be on thyroxine for the rest of my days I'll have to get used to it. Compared to how I felt last year I feel brilliant.
Hi Bess. I hope you're ok. I'm off the biscuits at the moment, very strange.
Take care everyone.
love,
Marigold
