yeah I am drug free,I was drug free from January up until July but they wanted me to go back on the carbs as my tsh was staying at 0.09 even though my t4 was in range.
So I went back on the carbs for 2 months at a low dose of 5mg then 2.5 mg and my tsh continued to rise to 6.9 hence why I have been off the carbs for 3 weeks.
Like I said I just hope my tsh stays were it is now as I feel ok bit I suppose it's still abit of guess work.
Hope everyone is doing ok

Sue the bloods I mentioned are nothing to do with the thyroid but are usually done about every six months or a year when you have a medication check with your GP. The U @ E checks your kidneys, LFT is liver function and FBC checks for anaemia etc. Often the doctor will also check blood glucose for diabetes and cholesterol etc. They are just routine checks but give an overall picture of your health. They usually come back normal but are useful if you are feeling rough but don't know why. I hope the baby wasn't in the buggy when you lost it in the shop lol !Hope you feel better soon.
Kat, I am just on 10mgs of Propanolol and have tried to stop it altogether but I don't feel comfortable, heart jumping about sometimes, particularly late afternoon and when I wake up in the morning. I will have to take it twice a day for a while longer, so annoying but I don't want to get fixated on my heart beat so will carry on.
Jane and Marigold, hope you're not doing too much. Just sit and eat biscuits and you'll be ok.
Deb, glad you've got the tape coming. Its really good if you have trouble getting to sleep, I don't usually get to hear the end of it ! bloody computer playing up again will try to send this quick. love to all xx

I'm pleased the wind has calmed down. No damage, but loads of leaves to sweep up.
Hi Sue. You're right to wait until the doctor you like comes back from holiday, especially if he's a handsome hunk. No handsome hunks at our surgery.
Are you feeling any better?
Hi Kat. I'm pleased your levels are heading the right way. I can't understand why they let you go so underactive. It makes no sense at all to me, but I suppose that they're doctors and I'm not. I hope you manage to lose some weight. I thought I'd put some on when my levels were normal, but I haven't. Still in danger of falling down a drain.
Hi Jane. I should mention that hubby catches the spiders. I can't stand them, they frighten me to death. So he's my hero when there's one about.
It's good you're starting to feel better. Don't try and do too much too soon.
Hi Bess. It sounds like you get well looked after at your GPs. We have to be at death's door before we get a blood test. We don't get blood tests when we have a medication check. They just do it over the phone.'Are you ok?'
'Yes thanks'., and that's it for another six months.
I'm off biscuits at the moment. Don't know whether that's good or bad. I hope you get your computer sorted.
Hope everyone else is ok.
Take care.

Still feeling not too bad apart from a bit of a cold that I can't seem to shift. Have noticed today and yesterday I seem to have a bit more energy but trying hard not to over do it. Saying that I've been the kids taxi service for most of the afternoon and just waiting for a phone call for my last pick up of the night :D
Marigold you still having tummy troubles? Have you tried Actimel? I've just started having one a day this week and they seem to be helping, worth a go maybe?
Jane funnily enough I seem to have remained the same weight for a while also, all be it too much, maybe this is our turning point, fingers crossed. I phoned my boss today and told her I was hoping to be allowed to come back to work soon we agreed on the 3rd October all being well, think I'm going to be the office junior for a while but that's probably not a bad thing, that will be nearly 5 months I've been off!
Bess getting down to 10mgs of Propanolol is great, its quite a low dose and if thats enough to keep your heart behaving then stick with it.
Has anyone had a look at the Mary Shomon Thyroid site, its based in the US? I follow her on Facebook and she is talking about her Thyroid Diet book, they seem to be getting good results I was going to have a look at it on Amazon and see if its worth getting.
Off to pick up the boy, oh the joys of being a Mum!

Hi Bess, I do feel for you. I know what it's like worrying in the middle of the night, everything feels so much worse then. It must be a difficult time for you wondering what to do for the best. It's a problem when you can't be in two places at once. You do right to stick to the Propranolol, you'll know when the time's right to stop it. It's pouring with rain here. Take care.
Hi Sue. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. You do right to rest a bit more, remember no job is important enough to make yourself ill over. Although I feel fine, I'm not doing as much as I did before. I used to feel as though I had to be on the go from getting up to going to bed, but I realise now it's silly. I do a bit and then sit down and have a rest. I hope you enjoy your day in Liverpool.
I like to read books based in Liverpool. I don't know why as I've never been there. Maybe I lived there in a former life.
Hi Kat. Yes, I've still got a windy tum. I'll try Actimel. Thanks for the info.
I'll have a look at the thyroid diet too. I hope it's all cream cakes.
Jane, Debs, Dave, Barry and everyone else. Hope you are all ok.

Marigold do you have your hair coloured? I know it's a personal question but mine is desperate and the hairdresser is not convinced it will take and I think my hair is similar to how you describe yours. Hubby said just do it but I think I might be upset if it fails. I have about an inch of regrowth now all through it which seems to have given it a bit of lift but I have quite a bit of grey now as if by magic.
Barry you lucky man, the only one this process has truly worked for, all this hypo stuff is a side effect not the original plan. Good for you.
Sue I am glad that your shopping trip went well and you got some bargains. I've never been to Liverpool either but keep promising to take my son Anfield, will probably go in January for his birthday.
Bess, I am sorry that you are in a quandary and are suffering with big decisions. Please don't rush into anything, maybe now is not the time to give up the meds. When my son was small I'd have done anything to be nearer
my mum but we all had jobs in various locations so it wasn't to be.
Kat, actimel is on my shopping list!
Debs hope you are ok.

Hi Jane. No, I don't colour my hair. I've got fair hair with some grey, well quite a bit of grey.
I use Timotei Golden Highlights shampoo and conditioner for naturally fair hair and it makes the grey more of a golden colour. I've been asked what colour rinse I use. My hair is better than it was, but it's still cotton woolly if you know what I mean. I'm getting it cut every four weeks. I have a good hairdresser and she cuts it well, but it sort of flops soon with being so soft. I think I'd take a chance with the colouring if I were you.
I was just thinking that Anfield was an unusual name for your son.
Take care.
Hi Sue. I sent everyone a cake down the wire. Did you get yours?
I'm pleased you're feeling a bit better. Fancy you not going to Liverpool until last year. I suppose we're all the same, we travel far and wide yet don't visit places close at hand. No, I don't get night sweats. I get cold during the night. I'm ok until I get up to go to the toilet and then I can't get warm again.
I keep a blanket beside the bed and put that on until I warm up. I'm pleased you're spacing your jobs out. You're learning.
Hope everyone else is ok.
Take care.
Love,
Marigold
