Hi Everyone, this is a quick post as I'm not feeling too good. Sue, what a result ! Glad you got some compensation, hope you get on ok with your test.

Does anyone know if being hyper can cause low blood sugar ? Been feeling awful for days but as I felt better today, I took the dog for a walk. Later felt dreadful, full of panic, shaky and really scared. Thought I would collapse. I ate some food and calmed down, feeling a bit better now. Am going to ring surgery tomorrow and ask for a blood test asp to check my T4. Definately feel hyper, am going to have a lie down now with my relaxation CD! I'm so glad you're all there, no one else knows how it feels.Hope you are all ok, sorry this is a brief post, love to all, Bess. xxx

    Bess,

Sorry you are feeling horrid. I used to feel like that when I was hyper, just take it easy and see your GP so you can get some blood tests done. In fact it carried on for me for a while when I was euthroid despite the consultant saying it shouldn't.

I've seen the GP today and told him how I feel and he has put my Levo up to 150, yippee!

    Love to all

    Evening,

Oh Bess poor you I can sympathise it's a horrible feeling especially when you are out and about. I definately think you should see the Doctor, it does sound like you are hyper. Take care and let us know how you get on. XxX

Jane your hair sounds lovely and at last an increase in your thyroxine, I wonder how quickly it will kick in, very soon I hope. My Doctor said this morning that I can go back to work on Monday, on a phased return to start so 3 days a week to start then build up from there. I'll only be back for 2 weeks then I've got a weeks holiday which the Doc thinks is a good idea. I've got a return to work interview with HR on Monday the first time they have been involved in all the time I've been off!!

You are right I think you did go back to work too soon but like you said you had your reasons plus I think we have both had enough of being ill and just want to be normal again. I'm going to be doing a bit of an office junior job for a few weeks which is fine by me I'm quite looking forward to it in a weird way!

I've got a blood test on Tuesday in preparation for my long awaited appointment on Thursday with the new replacement Endo, very interested to see what my results are.

I walked the dog along the beach today there was just me and her on it, then had an afternoon of cleaning so a night on the sofa in front of the box for me.

Hi All, Thankyou Jane and Kat for your replies, its a comfort to hear from you. Felt awful this morning so rang the surgery and asked for a blood test asap and they kindly fitted me in this morning. I can ring for the result tomorrow afternoon. I felt a bit of a twit, they just dont how it feels. If the blood tests come back ok I will have to accept that I'm just a basket case.

Jane, you must be pleased to have more Levo, you'll be running round the block soon !

Kat - hope your blood test is ok, it'll be good to go back to work, a bit of normality.

Dave, its good you are exercising, do you think you are doing too much ? Magnesium Citrate supplements are supposed to be good for the heart and heart rhythm I believe. You could Google it ? The Citrate form is more easily absorbed.

Hope Barry, Marigold, Deb, Sue and everyone ok today. Love from Bonkers Bess xx

I everyone, after a good few weeks of feeling good this week hasn't started so well infect I've fealt quite the opposite. Feel really sickly fatigued and drained so I've not done much this week.

I too have had that low sugar feeling after exercise and needed a quick chocolate fix it's strange.hopefully it's just a blip if not I'll have to get my bloods done.

Hope you are all ok keep digging in wink

Hi everyone, Baz, sorry you not feeling so good. I think this happens when we have been feeling ok, we get carried away and do too much ? Perhaps this is just your body telling you to slow down a bit, this disease seems to stay in the system for a while and we get these horrible spells which seem to just pass eventualy. As regards the low blood sugar, I did read that its not a good thing to take carbohydrate without protein, it causes sugar peaks followed by a sugar low. I'm trying to remember this but sometimes you just need tea and biscuits !

Hope everyone else ok today, rang up for my blood test result but not done yet, will ring again tomorrow. love Bess xx

Thanks bess that's interesting what you said makes slot of sense. As all of us know on here we do seem to have good spells and then we have a big dip.

Not been as bad today the sunshine helps.

Hope your bloods come back ok and hope everyonelse is ok

    Hello everyone

what lovely weather it is again today smile

i went to see the eno yesterday and hes told me to half my dose of carbimazole to 10 mgs a day, im very happy about this but he also told me to stop taking propranolol ,im on 40 mgs of propanolol 3 to 4 times a day so not sure if i should just stop them but thats what he said to do.i told him i still get

palpitations but he said thats not down to the thyroid as im now boarder line underacive,so he said stop taking them and if the palpitations carry on we will have to find out why you have them, did anyone on here just stop them or reduce them?

i took 20 mgs last night instead of not taking any but not sure what to do today.

my blood results were T4 13.1

    T3 3.7 and TSH undetectable.

ive been told to have another blood test in 3 weeks and ring him and he may then reduce my carb to 5mgs also got to have a test for sugar levels.

any advice from anyone about the propanolol would be great as i dont know if to take one this morning or not.

i hope everyones feeling well and enjoying the weather smile

    Take care Deb xx

Hi deb glad your responding to the carbs.

I was 160 propanolol but was advised to reduce them slowly.

I went to 80 for 2 weeks and then down to 40.

I still take 20 now as it helps me feel at ease when I exercise.

    Take care

Hi Deb, that's good news, sounds like you're doing really well. I would definately not stop the Propanolol suddenly, especially if you've been on them 3 - 4 times daily. The poor old body wonders whats happening and you can feel really uncomfortable. I did it once, long time ago and got the fright of my life - heart racing etc, may be it was all in my mind but I never did it again. I always start by halving the dose and stopping them gradually. Of course I'm not a doctor ! If he tells you its ok then I'm sure it is but for comforts sake I would just cut down at first.

So pleased you getting on so well, hope everyone else ok today, love Bess xx

    Hello

thank you baz and bess for your replies,

i will do that , i think its best as well.

i will take 20 mgs 3 times a day for a while and see how i get on.

i dont want to stop them completely so i might ask my doctor if i can carry on with a low dose for peace of mind smile .

im feeling a lot better apart from the tiredness so cutting down the propranolol might help with that.

still carnt eat anything sweet sad ,i long for a bit of choc or a cake .

Hi Deb. My endo told me to stop the Propranolol. I said I thought it had to be stopped gradually, but he said that just applied to people with angina or other heart problems. I was on 40 mgms three times a day so I halved the dose for a week and then stopped it altogether.I've felt fine since.

    Hi debs,

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I was on 40 mg of proponolol 3 times a day and told just to stop. I didn't even question it and just stopped as he said and was glad that I did. I felt better afterwards because they made me so tired and lethargic. I went back on them when I had RAI and stopped just as suddenly again without any problems.

Marigold how are you getting on. I've been a bit jittery the last couple of days since my Levo increase but nothing too major. I had convinced myself I would feel so much better but I'm still waiting for that one!

Kat good luck for Monday, it's a big day here too as hubby is going back to work too. He still needs another operation on his shoulder and lots more physio but he is going back in the meantime.

    Love to all

i went to chemist this morning for my carbimazole and there normally in a blister pack but they gave me a bottle of tablets that had neo written on them, they looked nothing like the ones i ve taken so i refused them and said i wanted the same as i had before ,so is it ok to just break my 20 mgs of carb in half?
