    Hi,

What a gorgeous few days, I'm sitting in my shorts typing this from the garden! Enjoying what is hopefully my last day of being off sick! I'm quite excited about going back to work on Monday how sad I'm I? I was trying my work clothes on and not a lot fits anymore so have had to order some more in a bigger size :-(

Thanks for the good luck Jane, good luck to your Hubby to. I hope your jitters calm down soon remember that happened when you first started on the thyroxine.

Debs glad you got on so well with the Endo hope it's the same for me on Thursday. I wouldn't half the Carbs tablets maybe go back and speak to the pharmacist or you could take a 20mg every second day? Great you are feeling good what a difference the sun makes :-)

Bess got your bloods back yet? Hope you are feeling better?

Marigold good to hear from you, all ok with you I hope?

Dave your are right part four approaching fast! Not sure about the racing heart problem mine just races every now and then and even then only for a second or two, when you next back at the hospital, I would ask about then.

Sue hope your test went ok at the hospital? Have you had any results?

My knees are burning so going to have to move into the shade!!

Have a good weekend everyone, judges houses on X-Factor this weekend and Gary goes to Robbie Williams house - I love Robbie :-)

    Take Care,

    Kat xxxx

Hello everybody. Pleased that everyone seems to be heading in the right direction. Thanks for the best wishes re the new baby. Our daughter in law has been poorly and in hospital for a while so I've been a bit busy and preoccupied.

Debs. My carbimazole was always in a bottle. You can get tablet cutters to cut your tablets in half. Barry got some, so he'll be able to tell you where he got them from. smile

Hi Kat. You will be looking forward to going back to work, it's good to get back to normal. I was sorting my jumpers out for the winter when all this hot weather started. Most are too big so I've thrown them out. It's a good excuse to buy some new ones. smile I managed to find a nice winter coat, just what I wanted. My heart races sometimes. I've had an ECG an echocardiogram and worn a heart monitor for 24 hours and everything was normal, so I just try to pretend it's not happening. smile

Hi Jane. I hope your jitters settle down...I'm only on 50 mcgs of thyrozine, but I feel fine. I've just booked my next blood test at the end of October, that'll be three months since the last one. It seems such a long time to wait. Then the next one is six months and the one after that a year. There's no reason why I should go hyper again, but there's always the worry that I might.

Are you ok Sue?Hope you're feeling better Bess. Did you get your results?

    Take care everyone.

Hi everyone, it sounds like you are all getting on with your thyroids one way or another lol, well i went for the test on weds ,when the nurse was questioning me about my health i mentioned that i was a bit dizzy and had a pain in my left arm,but had no chest pain ,she said i didnt look very well and that they couldnt perform the test untill i had been checked out in A&E,my blood pressure was up aswell ,soooooooooo i was taken into A&E and had blood tests and obs done ,then i was told i was being admitted and took to a ward ,i heard one of them talking about arrithya...

sorry cant spell it  When i had another blood test taken on the ward i asked if they would do my thyroid function test and especcially t3 .When a consultant came to me at tea time i asked if my thyroid tests had come back ,he said no they take much longer for thyroid tests but it is now friday and no one has been in touch with me .I am wondering if i am on too much thyroxine and should just take 50mcgs aday instead of 75 ,what do you all think!!!! Forgot to say i asked to come home at 6-30 so they let me out .I feel a bit better today but not 100% ,i just wish i could feel how i used to be its seems along time ago .

so sorry must go be back later

Hi Sue. Hope you're feeling a bit better. Our daughter in law is feeling a lot better thanks. She has very bad sickness with this pregnancy and was dehydrated so she had to go on a drip. They thought she had an ectopic pregnancy as she was very dizzy and had tenderness in her tummy. Anyway they did a scan and the baby is fine, and she's nearly three weeks further on than she thought. She has an ovarian cyst so that was causing the pain. They gave her something for the sickness, but if she gets dehydrated again she'll have to go back in.

I hope your 24 hour ECG is ok. I had one years ago. The monitor was about the size of a house brick, and I was allergic to the rubber on the pads they stuck all over my chest. I looked like I had giant measles. It's probably all different now. It's good they're trying to get to the bottom of things.

I haven't been to Benidorm so can't help I'm afraid. You'll miss a lot of the bad weather. It's raining here today and much cooler. It'll do for me I don't like it hot. Take care.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

    love,

    Marigold

Hi aLL, Just quick post, got to dash out. Surgery just rang with my results and asked me to make just a routine appointment to discuss with Doctor. T4 13.O, T3 3.11, TSH 7.1. Any ideas you lovely lot ? Could I be slightly hypo, maybe I will be told to stop the carbs finally ?! Thank you so much, being me of course, I'm anxious about it ! Be back later, hope you all have a good day, love Bess xx PS My appointment is not till next Monday and don't want to worry about it till then, must get a grip.

Hi Bess. Just a quickie, I've just seen your post. Your T4 is right at the lower range of normal, but your TSH is raised (normal range 0.4 to 5.00) which means your pituitary gland is telling your thyroid to produce more thyroxine. I don't know about the T3, my endo doesn't do that. I'd say you're slightly hypo, but don't worry about it. smile That's good coming from me. I'm usually looking for something to worry about, but I'm not as bad as I was.

    Hello

Bess yout t4 and t3 are about the same as mine and my eno told me i was boarderline underactive , mine was T4 13.1 and T3 3.7

can you phone your eno? mine told me to phone with any results and he would tell me if i needed to change my tablets.

i hope everyones well. Take care Deb xx

Hello everyone, thankyou so much Marigold and Deb for your replies, have stopped worrying now.

Debs, pleased you got your tablets sorted out, its worrying when they give you something that looks different.

Marigold, pleased your daughter-in-law ok, at least you know what the problem is now.

Hope Jane and Kat ok and not doing too much and Barry and Dave not knocked themselves out with exercise !

Sue, what a hospital visit ! How are you now ? My parents used to go to Spain and they always said how good the medical care was there.

Have been feeling a lot better these last few days, no idea why, its just part of the thyroid thing I think, up and down. I found an article on overactive thyroid from the Auckland Hospital, New Zealand. It was so reassuring, I wish I'd read it long ago. I've never had any reassurance from my GP. I'm seeing a different one next week, she's a bit snooty but I'll see how I get on !

Deb, Ive never been referred to an endo because my thyroid one is the hereditary one, not Graves, or so the GP tells me. Perhaps the different GP will refer me.

Love to all and thankyou so much for the support, dont know what I'd do without you. Bess xx

    Hello everyone,

It sounds like many of us have had our hands full over the last few days.

My hubby had an MRI scan as he could hear the sound of a heartbeat in his ear. It was so insignificant that he only mentioned it in passing to the GP. They've found what they think is a huge pituitary tumour called a macro adenoma. We are in total shock, I know I feel sick. He gets another brain scan with dye on 17th October so we will know for definate then and get a referral to whoever deals with them. we've not told any relatives yet because we don't want to scare anyone. According to google most of these tumours are benign and treatable but it's still really scary.

    Love to all

Jane, what a huge shock for you and hubby, my heart goes out to you. I did a quick google and as you say this appears to be treatable and benign with excellent medicines available. Its the waiting to get answers thats so awful though isn't it. I used to work with someone who had a pituitary tumour, she had had it for years and it meant she couldn't have children but other than that she had a normal life with (I think) medicine, and checkups to monitor the situation. She was healthy and active so here's hoping you get good news and all will be well.

Thnking of you and sending love. Hope everyone ok today. Bess xx

    Morning,

Jane OMG I've just read your post. Don't quite know what to say, impressed with the Doctor though for picking it up. He seems to be getting seen to quickly although I bet it doesn't feel like that. Keep us updated if and when you can, thinking of you both.

    Love

    Kat xxxx
