Marigold, I am pleased your daughter on law is better and hope you don't have any more funny days.
Sue hows your daughter? Did your 24 hour test go ok?
Debs, my periods were awful and too frequent but are setting back down again now. I did mention it go the endo once and
Matter of factly she said \" it's common\" so now you know! I try to avoid that endo if I can!
Bess, I am pleased you got a decent doctor ours is a nice chap who seems very good. Little dogs foot is loads better and he is skipping about as happy as larry.
Kat, how's it going now you are a working mum again.
Hubby passed the eye test so he can keep driving thank goodness. He gets an all singing l dancing scan next week.
Love to all

Jane You sound good ,are you feeling better in yourself ,so glad your dogs paw is healing .I had the ecg moniter fitted and had to write down on a diary every time i felt my heart jump ,filled quite a bit in it ,i took it back for 3 30pm thursday but havent heard nothing yet.I dont even know who to get intouch with ,will phone my GP tomorrow though to see if he has heard anything .I am wondering wether 75mcgs is too much for me ,only i typed in google thyroxine and on one site it said too much can give you palpatations .My daughter hasnt heard anything yet ,she dropped her 2 dogs off last night for me to look after as she hubby and 2 grandsons have gone to Egypt for a week ,she looked washed out ,she has had 2 operations last year one was a dermeroid cyst that was attched to her ovary and the other was a massive varicose vein in her leg ,she should have also should have an operation to put plastic discs in her neck which she keeps putting off .
Marigold ARE YOU OKAY i am missing you hope you are not ill ,please let me know how you are .Its not the same with out you xxxxxxx
You too bess ,where are you ,missed you too

bess i got my results for sugar levels and everything is ok with them so i had just a little bit of choc today to see if i was ok and i was so hopefully i will be able to eat some more and some cakes and put some weight back on or at least stop loosing it
.
your daughter seems to be having a bad time of things,i hope she manages to have a good holiday.
The doctors put me on antibiotics (3 days and they havent worked )i thought it would be 5 days or a week worth of them, and reduced my carbimazole to 5 mgs .
i phoned my endo 5 times to ask about the carbimazole and was told they would ask him and ring me back but i never got a call back at all
so ive given up ringing them.
i havent had a good day in over a week as this panicky feeling wont go away.
hows everyone else? hope your all ok

Sue, how are you ? Any results from your 24 hour tape ? I suppose if you are on too much thyroxine, it will make you feel as you did in the beginning. I hope its sorted soon, you have enough on your mind. Hope your daughter has a good holiday, poor girl, it sounds as if it will do her good.
Jane, hoping you get reassuring results from hubby's scan and that you are coping ok. Hope you're not overdoing things !
Kat, Marigold Dave, Barry and everyone, hope you ok and thinking of you all.
Bess.Ps. Debs, keep on with the chocolate ! xxx

Bess hows you ? yes its a urine infection and the 3 day course hasnt worked so will have to see the doctor again, so sick of taking tablets, ive never took so many as i do now . A&E didnt say much about the chest pains just had a listen to my chest and said my heart was racing but put that down to being panicky.
ive dropped my propranolol down to 20 mgs a day but im going to take a extra 20mgs today and see if i feel any better .
the endo told me to ring him once i had my thyroid blood results to see if he needed to lower my dose of carb to 5mgs but when i rang i never got a call back so my doctor said to lower it to 5mgs, im not happy at all with the endo for not ringing back
.
Hows everyone else?
Take care Deb xx

Hi Sue.. Have you got the result from your ECG? I had to write down every time I felt my heart jump too when I had it done, but the ECG showed nothing. It was years ago, and it still jumps now, but all the tests I've had have been normal. It must be all in my mind. Your daughter is having a rough time, she'll have her hands full with two children to look after. I hope her holiday does her good. That's the good thing about being a grandparent, you can hand them back when you've had enough. Our granddaughter likes to play hide and seek, she takes us to where we have to hide and then she comes to find us. It's so funny.
I'm feeling fine, although I'm wondering if I'm on enough thyroxine. My energy seems to run out mid afternoon. I'm only on 50 mcgs. I get my blood checked next week (it'll be 3 months since the last one) so I'm interested to find out if it's up down, or just the same.I did a Sue the other afternoon. I went into the garden to fill up the birdbath, and got a bit carried away weeding and doing all sorts of things. I was stiff the next day. Shout up if there's anything I can help with. Take care.xxxx
Hi Debs. Do you often have urinary infections?I've had a lot. I saw a urologist and he put me on a low dose of antibiotics, I just take one tablet a day, and I've been fine since. I don't think a 3 day course works, it either doesn't make any difference or it comes back again. It's all right for the doctors to say it's long enough, they're not the ones with the infection.
I've had the same problem with the endo, they tell you to ring them with the result then they don't get back. I hope your panicky feeling settles down. As Bess says the Propranolol might help. I know what you mean about all the tablets. When you're feeling better and you can come off them you'll not know what to do with all the spare time you have. Keep on eating the chocolate.
You're sounding good Jane, and I'm pleased your little dog is ok, and that your husband has passed his eye test. You'll be pleased when he's had his scan and you know what's what.
Kat and Bess hope you're ok. Thinking of Dave and Barry and everyone else.
love,
Marigold

Debs hang in there, no wonder you are feeling rubbish, you're poorly AND they are changing your meds as your GD is not controlled yet.
Marigold, your granddaughter sounds a treat, guaranteed to make you smile. Hope your blood tests go ok, strangely I did read somewhere that there is a seasonal element to the thyroid which is more efficient in the summer months. If yours is producing a bit of thyroxine it could be a reason why you feel like you do.
Sue, take it easy now you've got your hands full with furry friends.
Bess, you too sound a bit better how you getting on.
I am feeling better in myself but still jittery which is a mixed blessing, I feel like I'm shaking although I'm not. Also the hot flushes are back with a vengeance and inability to sleep. On sunday i was so panicky it took me by surprise it's been 6 months since the last time. I spoke to the occy health doctor about it yesterday as I didn't want to keep bothering my GP and I had something similar when I first took thyroxine. Occy health think a 50mg rise was too much in one go but thinks as I have a blood test booked for two weeks time to live with it. I had a hot flush in the appointment so there was no faking it he said my chest was bright red!
No news on the hubby score but tests are all done and he is bearing up.
Kat how are you doing? I'm off today as occy health think I should keep to more but still reduced hours while my medication is affecting me. So am going to potter about the house and do very little.
Love to all

Diagnosed with Graves Disease in March 2011. They put me one Carbamizole and initially I was glad to be rid of the overheating and palpitations. But now Im 3 stone heavier  and my hair is falling out - although consultant tells me nothing to do with my thyroid or treatment Im not convinced since its only been falling out last 6 months
I was having 6 weekly appointments but my last appointment in August they were happy with my blood results so Im not due back until February. I dread to think how much heavier I might be by then  I think I have put on the last stone since my appointment, despite watching what Im eating and exercising more (on top of running about after 2 kids).
Is this normal weight gain? Should I just put up with it until my appointment in Feb or do I ring and ask the doctor to check my bloods sooner?

Shazza, I found I've put on weight with Carbimazole and Propanolol. Also my hair fell out quite a bit at one time but its a lot better now. Its a long wait till February, I would ask GP for a blood test after three months. I know they often leave it six months but things can change a lot in that time. I dont believe that Carbimazole doesn't cause weight gain, I think all drug companies say this. The only thing that has worked for me is that old saying about never eating carbohydrate without protein to avoid a spike in blood sugar.
Sue, What a frustrating time, hope you get some answers soon. Glad you have slowed down a bit ! I hope your daughter gets sorted soon.
Deb, Hope your infection has gone and you get your carbs sorted soon. I think thats a good idea to increase the Propanolol for a while, you can always cut down again later.
Jane, thinking of you and hubby, let us know how you get on. Send
ing good thoughts to you. Hope you get your thyroxine sorted and you start to feel less shaky.
Marigold, Pleased you ok, be interesting to see how your bloods come out.
Kat, how are you ? Hope work's ok and you not getting too tired.
I'm not feeling too bad on alternate day Carbs so far but its early days yet. I do feel slightly wobbly and a bit dizzy but I'm still on 40mgs Propanol twice daily so perhaps its that. I dont want to stop it at the same time as cutting the Carbs in case my pulse goes up again and I start to panic. I just don't seem to have the energy I used to have though, its very frustrating.
Thinking of Dave, Barry, Chris, Evan and everyone else,
Take care,
Bess xxx
