Hi Sue. I'm so sorry to hear about your little grandson's speech problems.. Poor bairn. You must be worried to death about him. I hope he gets over his tonsillitis soon, I'm sure cuddles from his nana will help. I hope your son feels better soon and your daughter. I'm not surprised you're at your wits end.

You'll be pleased when you gets your results next week. Everything seems to take ages.

    Thinking of everyone.

    Hi all,

Debs pleased you are having good days, what a disgrace 10 days for a blood test result.

Marigold, congratulations on your continued good health, the same goes to Barry, look how far you have come from then to now, long may it continue.

Kat, good news all round for you too. Well done. My doctor said I didn't need the flu jab as I am not in an at risk group too! A few colleagues got quite poorly after the jab last year, fortunately I didn't get it as the nurse wouldn't come near me with a barge pole as I was made up with cold.

Sue, you have quite a lot on your plate at present but nothing you can't handle you being such a whirlwind! I have everything crossed for you, your daughter and grandson. My son had a speech therapist before he started school. We had a bit of a private language thing going on with him at the

time, which basically means nobody other than hubby and I could

understand him. It turned out he had a hearing problem which caused it. A couple of minor operations later he was fine, can't shut him up now!

Bess, I'm glad you're staying put for the time being, Hope your withdrawal from proponolol goes well!

Hello and welcome to the new girls. This is a fab website which has helped me no end, hopefully it will you.

I'm ok, definately on the mend generally, my cold is streaming and my head is fuzzy but it's quite welcoming to have something unimportant and non

scary if you know what I mean.

It's a big week next week, hubby at specialist Tuesday, I'm at the endo

    Wednesday, so fingers crossed.

    Love to all

    Hi Everyone,

Well I took the plunge and paid to get the flu jag made my Hubby get it too! It didn't hurt but for about an hour afterwards I was convinced I had full blown flu which obviously I didn't!! The next day I felt a bit out of sorts but still went to work came home and fell asleep for 2 hours, woke up felt fine. Looking forward to a flu free Christmas :-)

Still continuing to feel good which I still can't get my head around.

Sue - its not just raining for you it's pouring isn't it, I hope your wee grandson is picking up and also your son and daughter. I would get on the phone on Monday to the Endo and start chasing your results. You've been feeling this way for too long now.

Jane good luck for the coming week. How nice to have just a boring old cold :-) Also good to hear that you are also on the mend, will be interesting to see what your Endo says.

Marigold - you ok? What you been baking this week? My daughter keeps making cakes with bright yellow icing, the cake itself is lovely but the icing just puts you off :-)

Maria - I used to get dizzy spells in fact I think most of us have had them at some point, also I can relate to bursting into tears over nothing, it's hard going but stick in and go back and see your GP andsay you can't go on feeling like this and he/she has to do something. It might not feel like it at the moment but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

We are off out for lunch today with the in-laws not seen them for ages so looking forward to a good catch up.

    Take Care,

    Kat xxxx

    Hello Everyone!

I haven't checked in for a while. I went to our health centre for the repeat bloods they wanted from me only to be told that the receptionist had jumped the gun when the letter came in. I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry. My next lot of bloods are due to be taken in the next couple of weeks when I'm due to see the specialist again. Hopefully my counts will have improved somewhat.

I've had a few good days since being back on the beta blockers, I even managed to make whoopee pies at the weekend. By feeling good I started doing things at my normal speed - big mistake! I've paid for it today. Felt wobbly & dizzy & totally exhausted. Lesson learnt! At least I've got a week off work coming up next week.

Hope everything is going well for everyone.

Hi All, Been thinking of you. Sue, I can't believe how much you have had to cope with lately, any news of your tests yet ? Your poor daughter, she must be so worried but hopefully she will feel better when the speech therapy gets under way.

Jane, been thinking of you and hubby today. How are you feeling ?

Barry, well done, freedom ! To hear how you and Marigold are gives us such hope for light at the end of the tunnel. Wonder how Dave is ?

Kat you sound so much better, thank good ness after all you've been through.

Babs, what are whoopee pies ??!!

Marigold, I'm doing ok on 20 mgs Propanolol three times daily, sometimes I forget to take it so I must be feeling better. I have to remember not to take it last thing at night otherwise I have nightmares. I am due a blood test this week, crunch time, wonder if I can stop the Carbimazole or will I have to go for RAI. Am a bit worried I must admit.

I hope everyone else doing ok, sorry some of you having a rotten time.

    Take care,

    Bess xxx

Whoopee pies are little bits of chocolate sponge stuck together with vanilla cream. :D Very rich! But yummy! Was made from a packet mix but it made me & my friends feel better (mostly me). I guess that's what happens when I've got the appetite of an elephant at the moment.

Take care. & try the whoopee pies. Devil's food cake next methinks. Yum!

    Hello everyone.

Hi Sue. Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. As you say you need to see your GP and find out what happens next. If those results were ok then they need to look for another explanation as to why you feel so awful. You must all be worried to death about your grandson, poor little soul. At least something is being done to help him. You'll be wondering about your daughter's scan results too. I'll be thinking about you. Take care. xxxxx

Hi Babs. I hadn't heard of whoopee pies either, they sound yummy. I'll add them to my baking repertoire. smile Don't try and do too much. I did too much last week and I felt dizzy and sick. I've always dashed about , but I've had to slow myself down a bit.

Hope you enjoy your week off work.

Hi Kat. I'd have the flu jab too if it wasn't for my egg allergy. Hubby has it every year as he has a heart condition, and he's never had any side effects.

I'm pleased you're feeling good. I'm feeling good too, and still baking - fruit buns yesterday, but I gave the yellow icing a miss. smile

Hi Jane.Good luck fior this week for you and hubby. Hope your cold is getting better.

Hi Barry. Pleased you're feeling good. I am too, but still worry a bit that I'm going to go hyper again, but that's just me. I have to have something to worry about. Take care.

Hi Bess. You must be feeling better if you can forget to take the Propranolol, that's good.I have some awful dreams, and I'm not on Propranolol. They're just full of rubbish. Let us know how your blood test goes. Have you found any more tasty biscuits?

    Love to all,

    Hi all,

My Blood tests TSH is 0.75. I agreed that I feel good but not 100% and that my thyroxine does not seem to last 24 hours. He said the blood comes first and the rest will follow. He has discharged me to my GP with suggested 3 monthly blood tests. He said if it still doesn't improve to try a combination of T3 and T4 replacement rather than Levo. (sue could this help you?) he did say that a GP can just try you on it to see if you get on better with it.

Hubby's apt was a waste of time he told us nothing other than he has a large tumour which is probably benign and he is referring him to an endo and a neurosurgeon as it's a shared care thing. I ended up discussing it at my apt and the endo is going to rush him an apt through. Bless him.

Bess you definately sound better, marigold, kat and Barry I am glad that you are all doing really well. Hope everyone else follows suit.

    Love to all

    Hello Everyone

ive had my blood results, kidney function is normal, liver function slightly high but they say thats ok,full blood count normal, thyroid results tsh - 0.59 T4 - 11.9 T3- 3.4 the doctors told me to now take 5mgs of carbs every other day.

im feeling very tired and my neck shoulders and chest aches,as anyone else had that? i mentioned it to the doctor and he said my thyroid is slightly swollan and ask if i had been smoking more than normal,i dont know what that has to do with anything.anyway im still loosing weight and all the doctor said was go home eat some choc and build yourself up,i thought now my levels are down i would have stopped loosing,he also told me its time i went back to work but i dont feel upto it yet .

Maria i wouldnt have thought they would take you off medication, if i was you i would get my bloods checked regular.

Sue so sorry to hear about your grandson,i hope things improve for him soon.im glad your results came back ok but keep on at your doctor till they sort out whats wrong .

Kat im glad your feeling well still and you can now look forward to a flu free xmas smile

Baz glad you still feeling good aswell, it gives us all hope smile

Babs i was the same as soon as i felt a bit better i did to much then paid for it ,ive leant to slow down a bit now .

Bess i hope everything goes ok with the blood tests and i hope you get to stop the carbs.

Marigold i hope your still feeling well smile

Jane i hope your hubby gets seen soon ,you would think with something like that they would rush things through but they dont, my partner cut nearly half his thumb off at work last friday he went to A & E and they just said oh that carnt be sewn back on and threw it away and said your own hospital will ring you over the weekend to go in for plastic surgery and guess what no one rang,i rang them monday morning and they knew nothing about it ,i think its a disgrace .

i better go and get something done smile

    Hi Everyone,

I have checked in for a little while, I have been busy with Mum. She had a fall at the weekend and has a hairline fractured in her knee cap, just what I need so we have been up and down to London to visit her in hospital. The hospital thinks she might be out in time for Christmas after some rehabilitation, but my brother has said that he will come up and stay with her in her flat. If it is not one thing it is another.

We did have some good news at the weekend, we are going to be grandparents again which is great news and the best tonic that could have, not sure how I will cope with 4 grandchildren when they all visit.

So with everything that has been going on I haven’t been able to get back to see my doctor, other than feeling very, very tired I don’t feel as bad as I did, it could be that I am functioning on adrenalin at the moment, I’m waiting to hit a brick wall it must happen soon. I do have an appointment with my doctor next Thursday.

Sue, So sorry for everything that you are going through at the moment, I hope you feel better soon and they can sort the school out for your Grandson, it sounds as if he is the same age as my little man as he will be 4 at the end of Jan.

Sounds as if everyone is in the baking mood, and whoopee pies sound so tempting and very fattening, but who cares when I can’t stop losing weight.

    Take care everyone

    Maria xx
