Hi Sue, How outrageous, you shouldn't have to go all through this just to get an appointment ! How can they possible have thought it was ok to leave you till February ! Thank goodness you will soon be seen, hope you will soon feel better. Hope you aren't doing too much ?

Thinking of Jane and hubby and hoping everyone ok today.

    Hi Everyone,

Just read through all the posts to catch up with you all.

I am doing ok actually, I'm really busy at work so when I get home and walk the dog, do the tea etc etc I don't have time to do much else. We are really short staffed at work and I have agreed to do an extra hour a day but only if I feel up to it and only for a couple of weeks, so far so good, the money will help with Christmas. Still getting a few palpitations but only small ones so I'm trying my hardest to ignore them my GP thinks its because of everything I went through with getting my heart zapped etc. I still find it hard to accept that I am feeling better I keep looking for the smallest thing and think that's it something is going wrong again, don't know how to quite get over that?

Jane OMG - I hope all went ok today, no wonder you are feeling sick, let us know how it went when you can.

Sue - I feel so sorry for you going through all that, I am glad that you managed to get an earlier appointment with the Endo. Have a look on the Thyroid UK site because I think a GP can perscribe you T3 maybe he didn't want to interfere with your Endo, the 29th is not that long to wait at least its better than February!! It must be a comfort to you to have your family so close by.

Barry - The only time I noticed a lump on my thyroid was after RAI when I was going over to the dark hypo side! I always think it was its kind of last stand before it finally died off. If you are feeling fine I wouldn't worry too much but maybe mention it next time you are at the GP. I am glad that you are feeling good.

Marigold - oh that migraine sounds nasty, I'm sure it was a one off if you had been busy. Baking this weekend from my girl was a savoury bread with olives and tomatoes in it, it was yummy.

    Bess - you ok?

Right better go the timer is going on the oven!

    Take Care All,

    Love

    Hi Everyone,

Jane, I hope everything is ok. Thinking of you.

Well I hit the brick wall on Friday, and felt awful. I couldn’t even get out of bed so hubby (bless him) arranged an emergency appointment at the doctors and I am now back on my medication and I’m not feeling too bad other than the awful palpitations, I never had them this bad before, I will mention it to the doctor when I go back on Thursday.

Marigold our newest grandchild is due the end of May, my daughter has another scan next Monday, they are keeping an eye on her this time as she had a miscarriage at 16 weeks last Christmas and she is in the high risk category as she had pre-eclampsia when our first granddaughter was born 5 years ago. Children are such a worry, but I wouldn’t be without my two girls and the little ones.

I hope you are all well.

    Love Maria

    Hello everyone,

Thanks for all your kind wishes it all helps.

Hubby has a benign non functioning tumour which needs surgery to debulk it. He them will have radiotherapy because the tumour is growing over his arteries and close to his optic nerves so they can't cut it all out. The radiotherapy is likely to make him hypopituitary and he will need all the hormones it controls replaced medically for the rest of his life. One of them is TSH. I have been more upset than he has because I have first hand knowledge of how awful hormone stuff can be.

I've been swimming tonight from work just to try and chill out a bit because i don't want to put more pressure on him and am completely knackerd.

We expect an apt with the neurosurgeon next week although the endo says

surgery needs doing fairly quickly it's not an absolute rush job.

    Love to all

    Jane. Xx

Hello Jane, you must be relieved to know that the tumour is benign. I would imagine that hubby's hormone levels will be much more closely monitored and much better controlled than if it was just the thyroid alone. It sounds as though he is in excellent hands and they are getting things done. Look after yourself and try not to overdo things. Thanks for posting on progress, especially after such a traumatic time. Thinking of you, love Bess xxx

Hi Jane. What a relief to know the tumour is benign. As Bess says I'm sure hubby will be closely monitored, and it's good that things are moving. Try to keep calm. Easier said than done I know.

I'll be thinking of you both.

    love,

    Marigold

    Hi Everyone,

Just on for a bit of a moan - sorry!

Work is really stressing me out I'm trying to do my own job and that of a colleague who is off sick, so trying to do 50 hours work in 20, it doesn't take a genius to work out it ain't going so well!

Today I felt really panicky and I could feel my heart banging away managed to get myself calmer by the time I left but then had to have a lie on the sofa when I got in and to top it off think my period is about to start so that wouldn't be helping either. I'm not good with stress, well who is, but beginning to wonder if I could be over medicated? When I sit and think about it, it feels the same as when I was hyper. Got a blood test a week on Friday so I suppose I'll soon find out.

I did both the Euro Millions and the Lotto at the weekend hoping that I would win enough so I didn't have to go in to work on Monday, from the above you can tell I didn't win :-(

Right moan over, thanks for listening Graves Gang, tomorrow is another day.

    Hope you all ok?

    Hello everyone.

Hi Bess. You must be feeling better if you've started decorating. We've just finished doing what we wanted to do this year, it seems to have taken a long time, but we got there in the end. We used low odour paint, and it's made such a difference, I hate the smell of paint. I hope you can come off the Carbs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. smile x

Hi Deb. I'm pleased you're feeling better too. I'm eating well at the moment, but I'm getting heartburn again for some reason.Apart from that I'm feeling good. It's a year this week since I had my RAI, so I think we'll have a party to celebrate. It's lovely to feel back to normal.Take carex

Hi Kat. There's nothing wrong with a good moan, it'll do you the world of good. smile It's a long time since I went out to work, but I had to cover for a colleague when she was off sick or on holiday. How they expect you to fit two jobs into the same hours is beyond me. They're not playing fair. Can you have a word with someone and tell them if it carries on you won't be able to cope and you'll end up off sick too. The trouble is once you go back to work everyone seems to forget that you've been ill, and they don't make allowances.

Can you get your blood test brought forward if you think you're overmedicated?

I'm only on 50 mcgs of thyroxine, and the other morning I couldn't for the life of me remember whether I'd taken my tablet. I didn't want to take another one, but I didn't feel any different so I probably did take it. My memory is shot.

I think I'm going to win the Lotto every weekend. I'd love to have a good win, then I'd give some to our son and family to help them. Everything is so expensive these days. Take care.

Hope everyone else is coping. Are you ok Sue?

    love to all,

    Marigold,
