Hi everyone ,Bess glad you are coping and if you have RAI it is a doddle ,our Marigold was a star helping me through it ,of course i was worried who wouldnt be entering the unkown but she helped all the way ,i dont know what i would have done without her .Debs hope you are feeling better this virus thats going about is real bad 4 members of my family have it ,get better soon...Jane hope everything is going alright for you and your husband and will soon be posting with good news ...maria and kat hope you are both well xxWell i went to see my endo ,saw his registra ,was telling all about my symptoms and asked could i try T3 ,she said why do you want to go on that  I told her i couldnt cope with all that was wrong with me ,she went on to say that my prickly eyes ,dry mouth, feeling sick ,falling sleep ,swollen tummy was nothing to do with being hypo  and t3 stimulates the heart and with me having AF it wouldnt do for me ,but they are going to start weaning me of the diltizan that i take for it  ,then she told me to start taking 50mcgs of thyroxine one day and 75 the next ,i must then have a blood test in 6 weeks as they wanted to get me down to 50 and if i dont feel any better they would then consider giving me t3. So i will have to carry on missing my tele programs while i fall asleep  I hate feeling like this and all i want to do is carry on with my life feeling normal

must go can feel my eyes closing

    love to you all

    Hello all

I'm sorry but I feel awful, I think I'm hyper again, rash has gone thank god, but had major palpations again, crying and had a major panic attack last night hubby called ambulance got discharged this morning, heart all over the place, they took bloods last night, registrar thinks I had a Thyroid storm but how can I when bloods from last week which were normal. I'm not on thyroxine anymore,, well from last night, but now on 30 mg carbs, now seeing Endo on Monday. I was feeling ill all last week but can't understand what is happening, they are aware I had RAi in August. Can't stop crying, I need to be fit and well before Christmas as we are flying to Germany to see my mum, first Christmas without my dad and don't want my mum to worry about me, I'm sorry to rant but I feel so bad at the mo don't understand what is happening

Hello Sabine, how are you today ? I tried to send you a message last night but my computer is playing up again. I'm sorry you are having such a horrible time. Has your thyroxine and carbimazole been changed as a result of your blood test at the hospital ? Are you on Propanolol ? I wonder if thyroid storm can be brought on by stress or perhaps you had a build up of thyroxine in your system. Sorry, I can't help really because I don't know much about this but my heart goes out to you. You are bound to be anxious and upset, this being your first Christmas without your Dad. Its good you are seeing the endo tomorrow, I'm sure he will sort you out and then your panic will go and you'll be ok. There is nothing going on that cant be sorted in time for you to travel, I'm sure you will feel much better very soon. Keep in touch, thinking of you.

    Hope everyone else ok today.

    Hi Bess

Thank you for your kind words, I'm now on 80mg Propanol as well as 30 Carbs. Feel a little better today. Will find out more tomorrow seeing Gp first then off to see Endo. I really do not know what happened. But it gave me a scare. As mentioned earlier having been feeling ill last few weeks, after RAI felt ok, they took me off carbs 4 weeks after as bloods showed i was under and they put me on 120 mg Thyroxine and I felt fine.

Hope you are feeling ok and will keep you updated, Thank you Bess xx

Hello Sabine what a time you are having. Hope you dont mind me asking, how long have you been on thyroxine and has the dose been increased?

I felt over active each time my dosage of thyroxine was increased, nothing like you have had. When it was increased from 100 to 150, I had lots of palpitations, was sweating, panicky with diorreah. I still have the odd flutter and hot flush but nothing serious.

Now that you have had adjustments made to your meds you should settle down quickly I'm sure you will get to see your mum as planned.

I have no real news hubby needs more tests before his surgery which should get pencilled in for early in the new year. My boss is being a complete pain as he nominated me to start a project starting in January which is permanent nights. I was hoping for a bit of flexibility as hubby needs taking for his radiotherapy 5 times a week. I've cancelled my Xmas leave and was hoping to take a couple of hours off a day instead just to get through it.

    Take care

    Hello All.

Haven't been on for a while so thought i would update everyone. I have been on 5mg of Carbimazole and 80mg Propanalol. In October i stopped the Carbimazole. My Bloods before stooping were T4 15.8 and TSH 1.60. Had a new set of bloods last week and T4 was 17.9 and TSH 0.92. Been feeling generally moody and angrier over last 2 weeks but nothing drastic. had an Endo appointment today (my usual one was away and saw a new guy). Said that all was ok and as all tests are within normal range i would agree. However as the TSH has decreased i asked if this is a sign of me heading Hyper again. He said that all was ok and nothing to worry about. Can anyone advise if this seems ok. I know the figure is in the normal range but because its dropped in a month does this suggest it might keep going lower? Any thoughts would be grateful.

Hi all, Chris I wouldn't worry to much about your tsh as it is still in range and you're t4 is fine.

I just got my latest blood results back and my tsh is 3.6 with ft4 14.2.

Tsh has gone up about from 1.5 which probably explains my recent fatigue but still doing ok.

Hope everyone is good and well for Xmas.

    Take care baz ;-)

Hello Chris, Believe me, I'm no expert on this, one of the others would do better than me but I noticed your T4 had gone up slightly as well as TSH going down a little. I think that doctors don't realise that we can feel different with only a slight change in blood results. If you are ok, I wouldn't worry if you are having another blood test in the near future. I have just come off Carbimazole and my GP told me to watch out for palpitations and go straight back for a blood test if they return. If your heart rate is ok and you aren't losing weight etc. perhaps you are having a normal fluctuation in results. I wonder when you are booked for another blood test ?

Take care, good to hear from you.

    Hello everyone.

Hi Chris. I agree with Barry, I wouldn't worry too much about your TSH.

My last results were TSH 2.29 and T4 15 from TSH 0.58 and T4 18 three months before. Think of it like a seesaw, one goes up and the other comes down. It's normal for them to change, as long as you're in the normal range that's ok. When's your next blood test? Take care.

Hi Bess. Are you still feeling ok? Any more auras? I managed to survive the supermarket this morning without the lights setting one off. smile

Hi Jo. Don't worry about having the RAI, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm pleased I had it. I didn't have a choice really, it was either that or surgery, but I've got my life back now, and I feel good. smile

Hi Jane. You'll be pleased when hubby has his surgery. It would be even better if your boss was being helpful instead of being a pain. Take care.

How are you Sabine? I hope you're feeling better and the endo put your mind at rest. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Sue. Are you feeling any better? Were you happy with what the endo said? I know you wanted to go on T3. Are you all ready for Christmas? We've just found out our new grandchild is a boy. We can hardly wait for him to be born. Take care.

Are you ok Kat?Has your daughter made any more cakes with bright yellow icing. I'm not baking this week, I'm going to wrap Christmas presents instead. At one time I'd have done both, but I'm learning I can't do everything.

    Thinking of everyone else.

    love to all,

    Marigold

    Hi Everyone,

Thought I would come on and let you know my latest bloods, I seem to be normal, whatever that is, first time I've been within range for about a year!

    They are:-

    TSH 4.12 from 8.59

    T4 19 from 20

    T3 4.67 from 3.5

I'm right in the middle for T3 and at the upper level for the other two. I have an Endo appointment tomorrow so interesting to see what she says.

Although I'm in \"normal\" range I have been getting a few hyper type symptoms - upset stomach, heartburn, painful elbow joint which makes my fingers feel a bit numb I wonder if that is the Graves flaring up?

Jane - at last a date for your Hubby, wishing him all the best. Hope things work out with your boss, can your Occ Health help again? How are you keeping? Still happy on the 150 thyroxine?

Marigold - a wee boy how lovely, one of each :-) No more cakes up here christmas is taking over too, she has a plan to make a gingerbread christmas biscuits, can't wait.

Bess - how you getting on Carb free? No more migraines I hope, funny that about the supermarket lights setting you off, I can't stand them either.

Dave - nice to hear from you, I was reading somewhere that some people need more thyroxine in the winter months, might be worth asking your doctor?

Barry - glad you still doing ok, hows the lump in your neck? Might explain the rise in your TSH, least you are still in range and feeling good.

Sue - how you getting on, feeling any better? I'm going to sit tonight and write down all my questions like you for my Endo appointment tomorrow.

Chris - you know yourself better than anyone, I would keep an eye out for anymore hyper symptoms and if they arrive then maybe get in contact with the doctor again and get another blood test.

Jo - its a long road but its worth it in the end, RAI is nothing and although I moaned all the way through it I now feel like a different person, take care.

Sabine - oh dear that would have been scary, how did you get on with the doctor and then the Endo?

Right off for tea, I'm starving! Will come back on after Endo appt tomorrow.

    Take Care All,

    Kat xxxx
