Just to update my next blood test is scheduled for 8 weeks (ish) although i will go sooner if i need to. I generally just feel moody so not too bad. The Endo looked at my blood tests and said \"why are you even here? , your gp should be seeing you.\" It was the last appointment of the day so i think he wanted to go home.
Only thing i'm having issues with is very very dry and itchy hands (back of). I have 2 different creams from the doc but nothing helps. She's not sure whats causing it but could be poor circulation. When Endo checked my heart rate it was 52. Told me that as long as its over 50 i'm fine. My feet also get cold. In bed i need 2 duvets, 1 sleeping bag and a blanket, plus 2 pairs of socks.
Apart from that all is ok. My dad had a heart attack on saturday so compared to that i have nothing to worry about.
Ah Well. Catch you all soon

I'm in the middle of making Jamie Oliver's get ahead christmas gravy - the smell is just gorgeous and filling the house.
Anyway update from me - I was at the Endo last Thursday we braved the hurricaine, it was pretty wild, anyway think most people stayed away as I got taken 10 mins early!! So she is happy to keep me on 100mg of thyroxine as it seems to be working all be it slowly, she did think about upping the dose but because of my previous heart problems she decided to leave it where it was. She would like my TSH to half again so that it is around or under 2 and thinks this will happen over the next couple of months. And guess what her final words were - \"I don't want to see you again\" - she has discharged me to care of my GP - so happy, I think I'm nearly at the end of this long dark tunnel!
I then had a follow up appointment with the GP who was happy that I have been discharged, she gave me a blood form and said come back in 3 months to get tested again :D
So stick in guys and girls, you will get there in the end.
Back to the gravy, if I keep tasting it like I have been there will be none left!!
Take Care,
Kat

Hi Sue. It sounds like you're doing better, it's a good sign if you're cleaning cupboards out. I've had a good sort out too, I enjoy doing cupboards and drawers. Yes, I'm pleased it's a little boy, it seems a long time to wait until he's here, but the time will probably fly. Take care.xxx
Hi Chris. Are you feeling any better? I'm sorry to hear about your dad.
Hi Kat. So the endo has discharged you, that's good news. :D You've got there. Was there any gravy left, or did you eat it all?
Thinking of everyone,
love to all

Not feeling too bad really. Had a massive mood attack the other day. Was cooking for gf and her mum, got fed up that the potatoes were over cooked so i chucked them all away and started again. G.F. saw me stropping and left me to it. Looking back now i realise i was being an idiot but i just can't see it at the time. Apart from that i'm ok. Circulation on my hands and feet is really bad. Bought some special socks for bed. Have a GP appointment next week so i will ask her about it.
Take Care

Hi Deb. No, you can't win with the docs. One tells you one thing, and then when you see another one they tell you somethin g different. My ankles are a bit painful at the moment, but I have arthritis so it's probably that.
I've got all the xmas presents wrapped and the cards posted, and extra food shopping done. It'll be all over before we know it.
Hope everyone else is ok.

I hope that you are all keeping warm, safe and well.
After a very hard week at work decided that I would take yesterday off and spend the day with my girls and had a pampering afternoon, which we haven’t done in ages, with them having children of their own. Poor old hubby was exhausted by time we got home to relieve him of them...
So today I am feeling pretty good. Still got a horrible taste in my mouth and feel freezing cold most of the time, but the palpitations seem to be under control and most of the other symptoms. I do hope it is good news at the Endo on Monday.
If I don’t log on before next weekend, have a Merry Christmas.
Thinking of you all
Love Maria

Doing not too bad at the moment, got the steam cleaner out today been cleaning all afternoon, now sitting with a G & T as a reward! Only 5 more days at work then I'm off till the 10th of Jan 😃
Maria - your pampering afternoon sounded lovely, I thought about resigning too but I reduced my hours instead so glad I did, 4 hours a day is quite enough for me to handle.
Marigold - I just have to wrap the kids presents but trying to do it on the quiet not so easy now they are older! We are going to the in-laws for Christmas first time away from our own home for ages, I'm moaning but secretly looking forward to it 😉
Deb - I get an ache in my chest sometimes, I think mine is stress related. Well done reducing the propanolol.
Sue - another chest infection oh dear, glad you got some antibiotics. Glad the reduction in thyroxine seems to be helping. I read that too about not taking your thyroxine before a blood test - to be honest I'm in such a routine taking mine now that I decided to take it blood test or not, if you have always taken it before a test in the past I would continue to do so.
Jane, Bess, Barry, Dave hope you all ok?
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a very happy healthy New Year.

Hope all the preparations are going well for the festive season. I'm not travelling this year and I'm spending Christmas in the frozen North rather than travel to my family as the past couple of years the weather has been awful.
I was at the Endo on Wednesday again and it turns out that I'm doing fine on the Carbimazole. My levels are all doing ok but she would like my T4 to be a little bit lower. The last doctor I saw was a junior and he shouldn't have been so forceful about RAI. I'm still thinking about it but my Endo does not want me to do it just yet as I've only been getting treatment for 3 months. I've to go back for more blood tests after New Year and she thinks my carbs may need to be adjusted as she dropped me from 30mg to 5mg. It'll be a busy time as I'm being sent to the Netherlands for a week for work (very excited about that!).
Not feeling too bright the last couple of days. I think I've got a cold coming on & I've got a bit of a sore throat. I'll be contacting my local surgery about that tomorrow! My Endo also stopped my beta blockers but I've been feeling a bit shaky for the last couple of days but that may be the effects of the cold. I usually try to hit a cold head on with Beechams & Sudafed but I've now learnt that I can't so that. So lots of hot drinks & paracetomol.
I'll sign off now & wish you all a very Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year. Let's hope the light at the end of the tunnel gets even brighter in 2012.
Take Care.
Babs.

Hi Sue. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. We're going to our son's for Christmas Day. We went last year too, it was the first time we hadn't had Christmas at home, and it felt very strange. It's easier with all the toys. Our son does the cooking, so it's a nice break for me.
I've always taken my thyroxine when I've had a blood test, never been told to do otherwise. If the blood test is to see if we're on the right dose of thyroxine how will they know if we haven't taken it?
Hi Babs. I hope your cold is soon better. It's annoying when you see different doctors and they all advise different treatment. I hope you enjoy your trip to the Netherlands.
Hi Kat. We're thinking of getting a steam cleaner mainly for the tiled kitchen and bathroom floors. Is yours easy to use?
It is difficult wrapping presents when the kids get older, and they need to be well hidden. I'm secretly looking forward to Christmas day at our son's. It'll be nice not to have to cook.
Hi Maria. I'm glad you enjoyed your pampering afternoon. Poor hubby, he'd need a pampering afternoon to get over looking after the children. Good luck for when you see the endo
Thinking of everyone.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
Love to all,
Marigold
